Unlocking T-Mobile US LTE bands - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have the international version of the Nokia 6.1 (2018). (Model: TA-1068) As I am in the US it doesn't come with support for the correct LTE bands out of the box. I am trying to figure out if I can enable them. It has Android 8.1 with the June security patch. I am trying to do this without root, but if there is a way with root I may be willing to try that if I get desperate. If I need to supply any more information let me know. If you know how to do this I would appreciate your help.
Thanks,
Kevin Long

LTE bands unlock E2363

Hello all. I'm wondering if anyone here has tried to unlock additional bands on their M4...or more specifically E2363.
I purchased the E2363 but didn't initially realize that it does not support any LTE bands for US carriers (t-mobile and ATT)
I was thinking of using this guide to unlock the bands. However, I wanted to check first because can still return the device for a full refund since I have not opened it yet. I WOULD just purchase the E2306 model, which should work on USA LTE bands, but it is hard to find and much more expensive.

Any advice?
And how do you plan to follow that guide if you don't have root access to enable diagnostic mode? Root is required and at the moment there's no way of obtaining root access in M4 Aqua...
I guess I hadn't realized that it was not rooted yet. But I figure it should eventually happen right, or it is looking like there will be no exploit found?

It's a cat and mouse game, we'll find an exploit to root, Sony will fix it in a new update, we're going to find another exploit and so the game will continue. Also, when you get root, you'll probably have more luck using the unlock LTE bands from Sony cross-device section that is made especially for Xperia devices...
Hi, this is exactly the problem I try to resolve these days. I accidentally bought E2363 too and it does not support 800 MHz which is the only relevant band for me.
Are there the same chipsets in all devices so they support all bands and you only have to activate the relevant for your area and possibly deactivate the rest?

Can I SIM Unlock an HTC One Max 4.4.2 from Sprint to work in Europe?

General help with ROMs and Networks
Dear Members of the Forum!
This is my first post here, and I would like to ask for your help. I have an HTC One Max Sprint edition, and have some questions regarding ROMs, and network types. I would like to take this phone with me to Europe, and use it there. What are the required steps to do so?
I have read that there is a command and a tool to sim unlock these devices, however, my Android version is 4.4.2 with software version 3.02.651.8, and the utility is no longer present. I tried finding a RUU for the JB43 image, but was out of luck. But honestly, my main problem is that I am confused. What makes this phone stick to Sprint? Can I use this with a SIM card on a 2G/3G/4G network? Can I flash an international image on the device, and if so, will it unlock my device to be used with a European SIM?
I know I ask a lot of you, but can you please try to help me?
Also, if anything is out of order here with my post, please tell me, so I can be a better part of the community.
Thank you in advance

Can i convert a US version device to Europe?

Hello,
I was wondering if is possible to flash Europe's model Firmware on US model, and get the device work?
I want to do this because I am in Europe and I cannot connect to LTE networks because my oneplus X is US version. So I want to change the firmware to european version to be able to connect to band 3 - 1800Mhz networks that are not supported on US version.
If this is not possible, is there any solution to change the frequency and the band of the device?
Thank you
The firmware is the same. It's the hardware that change.
You can't do anything about that I'm afraid..

Sorry forgot to mention that it's the antenna :

Hello, thanks for your answer.
I saw this article : https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/how-to/guide-unlock-additional-lte-bands-t3519563
and that is why I was wondered if is possible to work on our onyx device.
I knew it was possible on some Xiaomi devices too, but I didn't know some OP could do it too...

That process won't work on most M8 version (including AT&T). It only works on Verizon and (possibly) Sprint, which are really different phones.

It may be possible to add band support by flashing another M8 version's radio baseband (or along similar lines, probably preferable to flash the full firmware or RUU). But you need s-off and change CID to do this. S-off is only possible with sunshine app ($25 US).
Plus, consider that even with the proper band support, your phone may still not support LTE. Since we've seen that happen in many cases. So the money spent on sunshine s-off may be wasted; unless the phone already happens to be s-off.

H820 by the glorious AT&T - solutions for OTA when abroad ?

Hello,
I live in Switzerland and a few months ago I had the very bad idea to buy a second hand LG G5 sim-unlocked but tied to AT&T.
AT&T being AT&T, they don't release firmware updates (nougat, oreo or security patches) outside US ...
In order to bypass this "situation", I thought of 2 "new" solutions, BUT i NEED some advise and info by American citizens :
1) Buy a AT&T sim card that works abroad ... for updating a firmware which is 2gb ?
I really need someone to point me to the right "solution" in this case...
2) Buy a H850 "motherboard" to bypass the "h820" ?
Is this a solution ?
In other words, if I replace the h820 motherboard by a h850 one, will I be to upgrade my phone to Oreo and the latest security patches ?
Be kind, if you know the answer, just give me the info you have !

Just flash the latest with lgup if you have a PC on your hands. 100 percent free and also the fastest.
