Amazfit Stratos - Bluetooth Chest HRM and battery - Amazfit

What is your battery usage experience using Bluetooth HRM with Stratos ? Mine is pretty bad so far:
- 2 hour hike with BT HRM on and PPG off used 30% of battery. Previously without BT HRM and with PPG on it only used around 10%.
- 2.5 hour hike with BT HRM and PPG on used 45% battery, then after hiking for total of 3.5 hours I switched off PPG and after 4.5 hours I was left with 10% battery.
- BT HRM is Decathlon Dual HRM Belt.
Seems pretty bad to me, sums to around 6 - 7 hours of battery life with PPG off and BT HRM on.

The same here. 17% per hour connected to a Polar H7 Bluetooth band.

Ist the battery drain the same with a BT earspeakers?

Yes, bt headphones are ~15% an hour

With Suunto Smart BT hr belt > 60% in 1.5h... With optical wrist HR it is 5% in 1h.

What is the PPG? And if u mean the optical hr, how can I switch off this?

Your observations match mine, Wahoo Tickr bluetooth heart rate strap with PPG off, battery lasted approx. 7hrs - tested on a 13hr Adirondacks hike last week. Next time I'll just use PPG for such long hikes and deal with the HR spikes in the data afterwards.
On a similar note, what are your observations on the best activity to use for hiking: walk, trail run or climbing? Battery time and GPS/altitude accuracy are my main criteria when I say "best".
Thanks!

Yep, thats about what I get as well. Bluetooth on, wifi off.
Depend how you use it ? just Fitness tracking or Smartwatch ?
I try to use in Fitness main mode : screen OFF movements OFF, BT OFF. HRM auto
30min exercice walk by day without GPS. Connect 1H with BT on phone to update SHealth and Weather + Calendar. Some Stopwatch sessions, 2 at 4 alarms by day. Using screen to view Fit current data + Diary + Hour. Off at night -> 20% batt by day with 16H wearing. So I can use for 4 at 5 days.
With screen alway ON I have about 5% by hour so 20H battery life.

I get on average 2 to 2.5 days because mine is connected to bluetooth 24hrs and im wearing it all the time, i only remove it while taking a bath. wifi off, BT on all time. 23 apps to notify as smartwatch, HR auto. Havn't been to the gym since i got my gear fit 2 due to minor injury. Ill be hitting the gym from today and check how it affects the battery life. I'll also check how accurately it recognizes different exercises automatically.
mine completely drain out from 87% to 3% in a matter of hours after going to sleep..., been using the new Fit since June 27, and its been 2.5 days before a full charge again. Not sure what happened last night...

Same here, only 2 days MAX with WiFi off and Bluetooth on
2 days with wifi off and BT on.
Something knows how to improve the battery life with easy steps?

Pace to Stratos

Hello, i opened this tread cause i am in the middle of road, my pace has finally 1 year but she now suffer barometer problem and battery performance is slowly degrade..so which one should i take, amazfit bip, or stratos,
i like battery performance on bip but square shape is so not my taste, so stratos is my priority but how the battery performance on stratos, do stratos user suffer battery drain problem like Amazfit pace?
Alô,my stratos at This moment,have 75% batery whith 28 h off use.
I sink anser your question.
And is a Very nice and beautyfel smartwatch

Stratos has only half of pace battery capacity. Bip is very slow compared to pace, only has backup. Pace seems still the best compromise.

Stratos battery: 290mAh
Pace battery: 280mAh
So how Stratos has only half of Pace battery capacity? Battery life (autonomy) is a little shorter on Stratos, but just a little (say, normal usage on Pace is 4-5 days and Stratos is roughly 4 days).

Normal usage on pace is 9 days for the 2 we have since 18 and 12 months.
As per xiaomi announced, pace is claimed 11 days and Stratos 5 days with same use.
Probably à pace that last 4/5 days is already faulty. In this case, how much do you think the Stratos will last after some months, 2-3 days ? Not enough, I want an increase compared to pace.
Bip is awesome, I use it as spare watch and charge it... Once a month...

so the conclusion is, stratos is battery consume more power than amazfit pace ? do amazfit stratos user suffer battery draining like crazy same as amazfit pace user ?
this is my second amazfit pace after replacement from seller warranty , my previous one suffer massive battery draining after 2 weeks ..but my replacement got serve me for 8 month before it also seems have battery draining..for airplane mode usage I can get around 8 to 9 days, now it reduce to 4 days only..what a bummer

Yes, as I saw on mines that I solde it to keep the pace instead. Screen is different, os etc etc. For the pace, I noticed à drain when paired to an Android 8 device. I verified that Stratos have same kind of issue but this is not about the basic performance . I really have 8/9 days when paired with nougat. You could try à watch reset without restoring user data to see if it works for you.

Sorry, but this is misinformation... I admin a Facebook group with thousands of users, and I myself have two Paces A1612, and there is no way a Pace can last more than 5 days with normal usage, unless normal usage for you is to put it in airplane mode all the time.
That's why Huami advertised 11 days for Pace in the beginning, but then they realized that no one uses a watch in airplane mode all the time, and dropped it to 5 for Stratos, what is still a stretch... Stratos battery is a little bigger, screens are exactly the same (Stratos+/2S has a Sapphire glass, but the screen is still the same). Still, using WOS2, now available for both Pace and Stratos, if use the watch for some sport activities at least once a day and notifications all day it won't last more than 5 days, even less if continuous HR (optional and disabled by default) is on. Normal battery drain with most conservative settings is a little less than 1% per hour, what can be improved only if you put it in airplane mode and do not use it for sports (GPS + HR).
Yes, in airplane mode I have more than 10 days life with my Stratos.

Stop useless talking, I do not use airplane mode, I sync notifications + weather forecast and record activity. Pace can do it for close to 10 days.
BTW huami claims start os battery life is half of pace, this is what I observe. Better buy a stratos and a fresh pace and try yourself paired with a xiaomi phone with an official rom.
'Needless to say the paired phone counts also for à lot that I removed it from my OP5 and repaired with my mi5 for the best.

Yes, we need to stop useless talking.
For Pace amazfit say :
Battery life: 5 days regular use / 11 days basic use
https://us.amazfit.com/shop/pace?variant=25112
And for Startos Amazfit say :
Battery life: 5 days regular use / 11 days basic use
https://us.amazfit.com/shop/stratos?variant=373265
So if someone last 10 days with a Pace then he last 10 days with a Stratos.
If someone last 5 days with a Stratos he last 5 days with a Pace
So no difference in runtime and nothing to talk apart different usage between 2 users and different runtime

Amazfit Stratos 2 heartrate problem

I've bought Stratos 2 because I wanted to have better fitness tracker. I read the reviews and all of them were positive. Well after two weeks of using Stratos 2 I'm very disappointed! Heartrate moitor just doesn't work properly.
I use my watch mostly for indoor fitness and running. YES I have read that with wrist movements the HR monitor just doesn't work OK. No problem I thought just that it will work fine with running or trail running. Well it doesn't!!
Yesterday I ran for 15 min (light run) and then two 10 seconds sprints my heart was pumping samsung S9 HR monitor showed 183 BPM while Stratos only 152. Today I have also tried with light indoor running. And the heart rate on the mill was always around 130BPM while on the watch onl 109 BPM... wtf? I would definatelly NOT buy this watch if I knew the HR monitor was so off...
What can I do? Should I buy bluetooth HR monitor chest strap? Or just sell the f... thing?

Stratos poor Heart Rate Measure?

I bought a Stratos to replace my amazfit bip and playing soccer, my stratos show around 185 bpm. It's impossible such reading. My old bip never showed more than 150 bpm (using treadmill as activity).
Is this sensor so bad? Can be improved in future updates?
As test I compared it to my fitbit and garmin and al readings are quite the same in workout and rest/sleep.
If I have a sprint or Hiit training my heart rate can spike to 190bpm. So 185 is possible depending on your workout.
Make sure your watch has the latest firmware, reset its data (factory reset then do not restore old data when pairing again) and use continuous HR for at least 24h and it should works a little better. Unfortunately the PPG sensor used in both Pace and Stratos isn't the best one around...
Hi Vogal , I'm experiencing the same as you.
I had a Bip for a year and a half. In the beginning HR was always 20 beats too low. If I wore in on the inside of my wrist, it was almost perfect.
I recieved my Stratos yesterday, it updated itself 3 times, even to the latest 2.3.8 that was released yesterday. I unpaired, rebooted, repaired, but didn't factory reset. HR is ALSO 20-30 beats to high. When standing still, measurement is perfect. But when moving, it's awful. On both watches.
Did you do a factory reset? Did it help?
My stratos HR works fine in spinning and elliptical machine. I compared it with another hr monitor with chest strap and both show very similar values. The problem is in outdoor activity like MTB. Here the stratos seems not realize about peaks of exercise and It always shows moderate values below 150 when the chest strap gives me values over 165. I tried tighting it more and different positions on my wrist but without any read improvement.
People, Pace/Stratos/Verge use a PPG sensor, it will never be accurate if you move your wrist/arm a lot, it is specially true when riding a bike... If HR accuracy is needed, use an external HR band.
The problem isnt the Stratos

The problem isnt the Stratos, its de Bip. I had one and never gave me the same value of the HR mesure of the running machine, also I tried with an Apple watch in other wirst and both, the running machine (also the eliptical) and the apple show me the same HR but the Bip was allways 30-40 beats lower

Stratos 3 battery

Hi guys. To the ones Who have the stratos 3,cab you tell how is the battery behaviour with external Bluetooth chest strap paired?
In stratos 2,it is awful
Unfortunately I have not managed to get it working with the polar H7 strap (I had read that the H7 worked fine with the Stratos 2). I tried to connect from the workouts setting in the accessories, it paired but but it doesn't connect...
Regarding battery life in general I had mine for 5 days and it is almost empty (it had 85% when arrived) Didn't use it very much and I turned GPS on max 45min. So it feels not much better than Stratos 2, let's hope it will improve with future updates

I have stratos 2 and I'm thinking about buying the stratos 3. However, my major doubt is the weak improvement in battery performance.
I had a Pace which died after I forgot it on at the Swimming pool. The Stratos 3 is much better in many ways. But if your Stratos 2 still works fine I honestly don't really see much upgrade

that's what I´m afraid of... The little increased battery capacity (290mAh to 300mAh) and my doubts about the consumption management when paired to an external bluetooth chest strap make me see it like a bad upgrade.
Maybe a "Stratos 4" will answer my expectations
I tried again and this time it connected to the Polar H7 strap. I only made a fast test (going for a 5min walk) but it seems that the battery consumption increases a lot with Bluetooth accesories. It went 8-9% down in 5 min.
I will update you when I do a proper workout but it seems that didn't change much from 2 to 3

thank you. In fact, that is a lot...
Here an update on this. I have been using it more regularly and the battery consumption has become very good. I get about 7 days of regular usage (including a couple of workouts using gps and external hrm). If I don't do any sports the battery life goes to 10+ days
