Wrong CSC after flashing via ODIN - Samsung Galaxy S9+ Questions & Answers

Well as the title says, I flashed the June update to my s9+ SM-G9650 (ARF4) I live in Mexico btw, the problem is that when the flashing process was completed and my phone rebooted I checked in this phone info app and there it said that my phone csc was from Chile (and I live in Mexico). So then I realized that I have lost LTE and VoLTE. I tried downloading the firmware via updato and sammobile but the problem persists, any ideas on how can I get back VoLTE?
My carrier is TELCEL btw.
Thanks in advance.

Can you tell me how to do that? Because when I plug my phone to smart switch and press the emergency recovery tool it asks for a code

No, when I bought my phone it was at&t but I unlocked it. And now I use it on Telcel. So i flashed the TCE ROM but when i check it says that the rom is from Chile. Do you have VoLTE on Movistar?

No , Movistar (Mexico) doesn't have VoLTE , Telcel offers VoLTE with smartphones sold by them , look , I have 2 S9+ , one from Telcel (Factory Unlocked-Amigo kit) and 1 from Movistar (Factory Unlocked)- Prepago RollOver)
Both have Telcel ROM and Telcel SIM , BUT only the Telcel works with VoLTE , when you ask for VoLTE service They check the IMEI from the phone , if doesn't show's up in the database (Telcel Branded) VoLTE doesn't work because they have to "Aprovisionar" (ignoro el término en ingles :/ ) The Phone/SIM to use the service.
In the software info what csc appears?? (On the phone , not the App) (My are MXO/MXO/TMM , Because i Flash the MXO rom (Unbranded México) and the Telcel i have TCE/TCE/TCE , only because i flash the Telcel Rom to use VoLTE , all the time i use the MXO Rom and the csc mark MXO/MXO/TCE).

Hi, if you flash mxo unbranded on your telcel device you will lose the wifi calling and VoLTE option.
And I think there isn't way to get TCE/TCE/TCE product code again because the firmware it's multi csc and default csc it's CHL, the only way it's take the device to service Centre Telcel and they send the device to Samsung service to change the logic card.

I have MXO/MXO/IUS
What rom do you use to get MXO/MXO/TCE?
Also, what security update are you on?
Do you have the LTE icon or just 4g?

There is no way to get VoLTE without a device originally from Telcel.
You can set the apn but shows 4G+ instead 4.5G, VoLTE you have to buy a device from Telcel.
And your best choice is MXO firmware to get Samsung Pay works.
You have MXO/MXO/IUS because the device is originally from iusacell/att/unefon

Yeah that's what I did, I flashed the MXO, at least it doesn't have bloatware

One last question... can I flash for example the att rom even if it is outdated? Bc the IUS firmware hasn't been updated since March

This!!!!!! ^ The last part of the CSC is from the operator , if you buy an S9 from Samsung Store México the csc is MXO/MXO/MXO , From Telcel is TCE/TCE/TCE , Movistar TMM/TMM/TMM , When you flash other ROM CSC is taken from the new ROM like you did , for example , if i wanna use VoLTE i flash the Telcel Rom and in the first boot i have to do a factory reset and when i put the SIM (Telcel) phone ask for factory reset to apply changes and in the next boot the my csc change from MXO/MXO/TCE to TCE/TCE/TCE.
The last part of the CSC cannot be changed without ROOT the device and obviously you knox counter mark will show you that.

You can't because bootloader in MXO is V2 and att has bootloader V1.
You have to wait an update from IUS it has bootloader V2.

Your device is unlocked??? I have to do a "HotSwap" to restore TCE/TCE/TCE coming from MXO/MXO/TCE.
1.- Flash TCE Rom with ODIN 3.13
2.- First Boot , go to recovery and Wipe. (At this point my Movistar SIM is in the phone).
3.- Phone reboot from recovery and i take out the SIM (Movi) and Put the Telcel SIM.
4.- Phones detect the new SIM and ask for factory reset to apply changes.
5.- Phone boot and the CSC change to TCE/TCE/TCE.
Try that. Regards!

I've tried that unsuccessfully. Maybe I'm mossing something. Did you apply HOME_CSC or CSC? Did your firmware was FRP enabled ? I tried flashing with my Google account active and Odin gives warning telling PIT file will be skipped. And I've tried removing Google account before flashing with no error yet ending with CHL firmware

you can always change CSC, with combination file flashing !!!!!!
I have flashed many devices with combination file, but that is a paid sollution so google it, and you will find.
however as others have said, volte services will be available with device bought from a specific provider.

It's happening with my device too.
I bought it in Paraguay (UPO) and I'm from Brazil (ZTO)
I tried different ways and my CSC didn't change, it keeps UPO version.
I tried with the SIM card, without the SIM card and it theres no effects, I don't know why.
Now I can't downgrade because I'm in bootloader v3

I've tried with combination firmware also. Last time was COMBINATION_FAC_FA80_G9650ZCU2ARE6_FACFAC_CL13230190_QB18158058_REV01_user_mid_noship_MULTI_CERT. But when getting to the FACTORY IME binary screen, dialing *#243203855# won't show any screen. I followed this procedure on my previous Galaxy S8+ and worked. In LatinAmerican Galaxy S9+ (SM-G9650) is not working.

[Q] CSC change???

Hi
I'm not sure if this has already been answered on here so please forgive me for asking again if it has,
I bought a samsung galaxy S3 in the UK, and I am going to South Africa next week and wanted to give the phone to my sister, was wondering how to change the csc from UK to the South African network.
I will explain, when I bought the phone, it is a 3 network mobile, I put my vodafone sim card in and it said "sim unlock pin"
I rooted the phone, bought the voodoo unlocking software and it seemed to do the trick, so now when i put my vodafone sim card in, it doesnt ask for a sim unlock pin anymore, and if i go and look in my available networks i see a whole load of networks for example the list looks like this
Vodafone UK(3G)
current network
vodafone UK(2G)
Available Network
T-Mobile Uk(3G)
Forbidden Network
and so on,the list goes on, i only have Orange that also says available network, the rest say forbidden network.
When I type *#726#and my imei number, press the dial button, it doesn't do anything but comes back and says "not registered on network"
Can anyone please help me??
Thanks in advance

you can't change csc in a single csc rom! it works only in multi csc roms!
i think you have to change rom to have network working properly...
You need to flash a rom from south africa (just look up sammobile.com for the fitting file) in order to choose an south african CSC the way it is mentioned above.
By the way:
You said, you used voodoo sim unlock? After flashing one of the incmoing Jelly Bean Roms the Simlock might be active again!
Voodoo doesn't work on JB Roms.
You might want to simunlock you're phone using this method again: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1846451
Good luck

Questions about Stock ROM

Hi i bought my Mega 6.3 (i9205) in france i didn't know if it factory unlocked now i move on the philippines due to work here i found out when i plugged a philippine carrier sim the sim is detected but no signal aside of that i know that my Stock Rom is XEF(France) it is possible to flash a Philippine Region Stock ROM for i9205?
Philippines

my current rom
Product Code: XEF
PDA: I9205XXUCNA2
CSC: I9205OXXCNA1

If it detects your sim and displays the carrier/provider, then it should be unlocked.
If you bought it brand new, then the phone sim slot might be defective.
If you bought it used, then the previous owner might have messed up the efs.
Did you try to use it after you bought it in France? And did it work?
Be honest you bought it in the grey market HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
So is it kimstore or widget city? ))))))))))))))))))))))
You can flash any rom but obviously it would be better to flash a ph rom
I flashed an HK rom before

lol no and i didn't know that kimstore and widget city, by the way i'm not rooted how will i supposed to flash that firmware thank you.
Hehe sorry bro, its just that all the grey market phones here are either from france or uae, these come cheaper but without a warranty.
Just look for a guide on flashing a samsung rom using odin, its easy but you have to read the instructions clearly. You dont need to be rooted.
Which telecom do you use? Globe, smart or sun?
If you want the best signal, go for globe or smart
Best internet, smart unless you stick to CBD areas then Globe
LTE capable sims are different from regular sims but cost more
Try all 3 telecoms if I were you, prepaid sims cost peanuts here anyway. They go for p40 which is less than a euro
Oh, they could have sold you an expired sim card, try another sim card

Once the CSC code is set to XAA it won't change because the US model would recognize the SIM as international

I think that you can try flashing a single CSC firmware, hard reset and after that the carrier firmware that you want and then reset with your simcard inserted in the phone. As far as i know XID is a single CSC firmware. Download it using Samfirm app (select model SM-G965F and Region: XID) and also when flashing with Odin use CSC and not Home_CSC. Post the result after please.

Pie Call recording -Working-

Don’t take hard on me as i am a newbie and if you have a better idea please let us now.
This don't trip KNOX nor need root, it evens get's you samsung Pay where it's not available!!
But you'll have to factory reset your device
There are a few countries where call recording is not ilegal so we must pretende that our phone is from that country, to do that we need to chage the CSC code to that specific country. India is one of these and CSC code of India is INS
I'm from Portugal (CSC = TPH) , i own a N950F DS, and i managed to make call record working by changing CSC of my device to INS (India)
(This probably will work on other note models) without triping KNOX or root
1- Take SIM out (if you leave the SIM in it will revert to your operator CSC)
2- Flash Combination firmware with Odin:
https://www.hardreset.info/articles/samsung-combination-firmware/
(COMBINATION_FA71_N950FXXU5ARI1_CL12991683-i have bootloader 5 EXYNOS)
This will install a special firmware to your device that is used for technical purpose
On ODIN Put it under AP and leave everything Default
UPDATE : BOOTLOADER 6 EXYNOS
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=79860496&postcount=68
(thanks to CHRIS CHEN http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=10018577)
UPDATE 2: BOOTLOADER 7 EXYNOS
https://www.hardreset.info/articles/samsung-combination-firmware/
3- Change CSC :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...de-how-to-change-s9-s9-csc-model-csc-t3870836
RealTerm: https://sourceforge.net/projects/realterm/files/Realterm/2.0.0.70/
(this is real simple, don't be scared)
4- Flash PIE rom with Odin:
N950FXXU5DSB2_N950FOXM5DSB2
(Any PIE rom will do except the carrier specific)
In my case i flashed India
https://flb.st/Q1U7Z
5- Configure, let update, (i ended up with the India SamsungPay not available in my country, you can disable it after)
6- Turn off and insert SIM, and Turn on
Now the important thing:
Everytime you restart the pone it will ask you to restart as a SIM card was changed, Hit Cancel and ignore it or it will change to you CSC again once it boots up.
Update:
After 2 days of using intensely i decided to hit restart and confirm the new SIM restart.
Didn't lose my setings and Call record still present and now i have INS/TPH/PAK CSC,
Call recording is working fine.
Hope it helps someone and please leave a like, for at least i know if i helped someone and it's worth to make any post here
I think that maybe (I said maybe cause i've not altready tried) the first step it's not necessary; to change CSC you can simply do it using bootloader or and app called Phone Info Samsung...
it's more simple and fast....the rest of the process you described is ok
if someone have the time to try let us know if it works. Thanks
---------- Post added at 10:44 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:29 PM ----------
I have already same firmware in my taiwanese Note 8 (CSC = BRI)...received OTA
When i have more time I would try to change only CSC to INS (India)...no need Odin... then hard reset, let update and check if record calls native function is there...
Waiting suggestions before the test....

Hey, so did google change their policy about call recording in Pie?
Is there a list of countries that have call recording enabled? I would love to update to pie (got notification today) but I need call recording to be working.

Have you take the SIM out and take the step 1 or 1a + 1b?

Im trying to change the CSC using the combination rom but i really dont understand what the guy is writing https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...de-how-to-change-s9-s9-csc-model-csc-t3870836
"If your phone shows your Model Number after boot.
Run RealTerm and go to Port tab.
Set Baud to 230400 and Select Port to ssudmdm0000 or very similar name.
3. Go to Send tab.
Enter "AT" and click Send ASCII.
If you get a response like"
How to i install realterm? What port tab? What send tab?
Realterm :
https://sourceforge.net/projects/realterm/
This is win7 and 10 compatible version to download:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/realterm/files/Realterm/2.0.0.70/
Any way to replace only the HOME_CSC without losing my data and get the Call Recording functionality?
Sent from my Galaxy Note8
VoLte optional (loose data connection during calls)

Do you have VoLte option in indian firmware ?
I tried it and I loose the data connection when in am in a phone call. There is a way to solve this problem?
From what I know my mobile operator provide VoLte but no option in Note8 settings in indian firmware.
I did it!
I followed the instruction in the OP and managed to install the Indian firmware with INS CSC.
I was on Italian firmware before. Now call recordings works natively out of the box on Android Pie.
Many thanks to jpl69 for the guide he posted.

No Google didn't change their policy. No 3rd party apps can directly do call recording as of Pie, but because this is built into the Samsung ROM, it is able to still function in those regions where Samsung enables it.

Yes.. I had/ have a sm-g965u and I flashed it to a sm-g965u1. It's not hard to do, but it's also not super easy. Honestly I'd wait another month or so until the offical android 10 is released. But if you really wanna switch to the sm-g965u1 it's possible and the guide is here in this forum. Just be careful if you attempt because you could brick your phone.
Sorry for being the broken record here but I have a Verizon s9 plus that's updated, and I want to flash it to the u1. Is it possible to do this because my firmware is the latest vzw?

So how does one obtain either legitimate access to or a copy of illegitimate nature of this android 10.0 smg965u1 beta?

if i want update TO ANDROID 10 manually via odin patch, will it be network locked later?
i live in indonesia.
thanks before and sory for my bad english.
No worry about that be sure to update manually from:
sm-g965u to sm- g965u1
Download sm-g965u1 (this firmware is unlocked version)
Sm-g965u (this firmware working just with your network,, means ? locked. )
So download sm-g965u1 and you can just update it to android 10 manually via ODIN ..... read carefully my post.
So your question answer is NO , be sure install sm-g965u1 and no problem all your life, ( sm-965u1 (multiple sim , with this firmware put any sim .)
" if i want update TO ANDROID 10 manually via odin patch, will it be network locked later?" Never , install sm-g965u1 ok ?
Any questions???

oh man, thanks for your help n respons.
my phone at android 10 now, and network not lock.
thanks you very much:victory::victory:
Enjoy my friend
So what is the difference between 965U and 965u1 U is network unlock.. U1 is factory unlocked.. If flashing U1 will not unlock the bootloader, what good is it really.
The difference ? ...al most the same .. if you want to root you phone you should buy european version . Those version s965u -u1 , its american snapdragon. There is no way to root 100% , some one tried , they root this phone about 90% seem like everything is working but the battery is charging only i dont remember about 80% and some of the option is not working , like you can't buy through samsung pay or something like this ....
But if really want root you phone I recommend you European version s9 plus or s10plus or any phone with processor Exynox . They are 100% rootable, with oem unlock (bootloader unlock)
