Can you please advice if there any way/ ROM, I can install. I bought this phone on contract from Carphonewarehouse.
Thanks

Moved to Q&A.
No you can't just randomly get updates like the Nexus S. If you want that, buy the Nexus S.
Thanks! What's about other mobile phones with stock Android? Do they get updates like the Nexus S or that depends on their manufacturer (after few months)?

Only stock Android phone that gets updates straight from Google are the Nexus 1 and Nexus S. Google do not support other devices, you have to depend on the manufacturers for that.
If you wanted this you should have bought a Nexus S.
Hey guys!
I am looking for custom roms for the new tablet I bought.
It's a pretty cheap Vodafone tablet and unfortunately,
I couldn't find out much about it. :/
Thanks in advance!
Did anyone tried this http://www.android-nougat.tech/2016/11/vodafone-tab-prime-7-8382.html ??
The link is scam. It is a site which claims to have Nougat updates for a lot of models that will never see updates. If you unpack the zip, you will end up havin a virus or trojan on your computer.
The Vodafone tablets are great if you are looking for cheap LTE tablets and if you are fine with the software out of the box. Do not expect to get any new Android versions. For the Tab Prime 6 there were small updates, but no Android 6. I think for the Tab Prime 7 it will be the same and it will stay at Android 6.
My Tab Prime 7 came with Marshmallow 6.0.1 and I also have a Tab Prime 6 on Lollipop 5.0.2 which I would like to update.
AFAIK, the Vodafone Tab Prime 6 was also sold as the Alcatel P360X One Touch Pop 10 and there may be equivalents for the Tab Prime 7 too so this could be a way of finding firmware ROM updates for both of these devices.
Are there any genuine updates for these?
I'm getting itchy for a new tablet. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 looks uninteresting, especially for the price. Plus, Samsung is getting more difficult to root. The forthcoming Lenovo Tab 4 10 Plus is interesting, especially for the price. Although I'd have to wait until May.
The real question, is it likely that I'll be able to root the Tab 4? I'm not looking for a guarantee, just an opinion. I've never had a Lenovo android device, so I don't know how they tend to treat this question.

Although, basically every device is Rootable. Lenovo usually keeps their custom version of Android close to stock, so it shouldn't have any problems.
Still no root available?
Hi, I got my Lenovo Tab 4 10 Plus today and it appears there is still no root instruction available. I tried Framaroot and KingRoot but both failed miserably. Towelroot did not even install - but I believe that one works on older Android versions only anyway.
All instructions on the Web are obviously fake and even on the Lenovo board there is nothing usable about the Tab 4...
I believe the Tab 4 is already out since a couple of month now.
Is it really possible that nobody has rooted it so far?
Does somebody here know how to root that tablet?
lenovo Tab 4 8" is a fair Tab. However browser is freezing up on the regular.

Lenovo Tab 4 8" is not a adult tablet. However the browser is freezing up on the regular already. Hoping to find a root for the device soon.

The tablet hasn't been released everywhere yet (including the US) so perhaps when it does, there will be a lot of people attempting to find a way to root.

No clue if the information is correct, but that link
tabletmonkeys.com/lenovo-tab-4-10-android-7-1-tablet
says it has been released more than one month ago in the US.

There is no rooting method available for Lenovo tab 4 10 plus. But you can try it with one click root applications available.
None of them works with the Tab 4.

That's for the non-plus variants; I was referring to the Plus variants.

OK, thanks for the clarification! I didn't expect that they release the non-plus and the plus separated... Do you have up to date information when the plus release in the US is planned?
for now, I have tried all the root method none of them working. kingo. iroot. have been google all day.
I am seeking for the method as well, please help.
For Lenovo Tab 4 10 Plus and Lenovo Tab 4 8 Plus root is possible by unlocking bootloader, booting (not flahsing) TWRP and flashing SuperSU or Magisk. I made a howto in a german forum. I think matshias (who build TWRP for both devices) make a howto on xda in the near future.

1. You don't need a unlock code from Lenvo. The command fastboot oem unlock-go work without a code.
2. It exists TWRP for the Tablet (I linked it in my howto). The only thing is, better not to flash it, only boot it.
3. see 2.

Do you know if this work on the standard Lenovo Tab 4 8" ( Not the Plus) ?
No, only for the Plus versions. Maybe matshias build sometimes a version for the non Plus.

Here is TWRP for the Plus version: https://forum.xda-developers.com/thinkpad-tablet/general/twrp-root-tab-4-plus-tb-x704l-f-tb-t3664407
Here are experimental TWRP builds for Tab 4 8/10. Let me know if they work.

Would rooting it possibly fix the sdcard issues ( I have a non plus tab)
If you search the Lenovo forums you'll see it mentioned there( mine is doing it also)
hmmm
Hello, are there any new custom ROMs for Galaxy tab 3 7" SM-T211? the last release was in Android 4.4.2 kitkat, basically, the tablet is dying as the apps dont update anymore, even if they do they dont work correctly or at all but it´s original battery just keeps on trucking, that sound like being in a coma for a tablet and it breaks my heart
same here man, even i wanna get that old man running again. good luck
I have read through multiple outlets the Galaxy Tab a7 lite is due for the android 12/OneUI 4 update. Has anyone received it yet? I saw it was due sometime between June-August 2022.

Hi, I already update to Android 12 and there are not many visual changes because of the One UI layer, but I wanted to ask if you know anything about an update to Android 12L, I wish you could have an interface like the stock one. Greetings to all from Latam
OMG, there are few thing i hate android 12, one ui 4
first no way to turn off RAM plus, this device only 32GB, now force use RAM plus
second half of app when tap back, it act like we press home key, keep running at background, so some app will not refresh when open back
third, samsung keyboard no more do spell check, that option is missing
and what the point show date on top of screen? i know can turn off
How is the overall update experience with A12 ?
I'm still on A11 don't know why but A12 on this chipset is something I'm just waiting for something to flag this overall update as unstable

I downloaded it in the USA this monday. Apps and web pages seem to load a bit more smoothly and quickly, in my experience. I haven't noticed any other differences, but I haven't hunted for them, and I'm using Nova Launcher, which may be hiding any potential cosmetic changes.
