Moto Z XT1650-03 Dual Sim - Wifi and Bluetooth not working. - Moto Z Questions & Answers

Last month I replaced the Battery for my moto z and after that the phone was working fine, suddenly my wifi and bluetooth had stopped working.
The wifi mac address show: 02:00:00:00:00:00
I have flashed custom rom as well as the stock roms on my device but had no luck.
So far I have Flashed
- Android P Developer Preview
- Resurrection Remix 6.1.0
- Lineage OS 15.x
- Moto Z 8.0 Full firmware [stock][oreo][griffin]
- XT1650-03_GRIFFIN_RETASIA_MPL24.246-45.2_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-XT1650-03_CFC.xml_V2
Rest every thing is working well but wifi and bluetooth is not working at all.. Any genuine suggestions for me ?
Also I have hurd that its a software issue and it can be resolved if i Downgrade my android version ... but i also hurd that its very risky since i need to flash bootloader also for that...

This happenned to me as well.
I had replaced my battery in March and the phone was working fine till one day when I came back from college.
The phone worked fine and I drained the battery to 0 just when I arrived home. I let the phone charge to 100% and when it booted, wifi and bt were dead.
And then I tried flashing the Oreo modem and wiping modemst1 which broke my SIM functions as well, so don't do this. xD
Several people suddenly started having this kind of brick, this isn't a fluke.

yes i already read your other articles before. From last 3 days i m also putting my efforts to find a solution. the reason i dont wanna take my phone to Moto service center since in india they dont care about your hard earn money, they dont care about your device, they are always in hurry, they broke your devices & for there fault they blame you and ask u for more money. last month i had taken my phone for the battery replacement and while repairing it they broke my touch ID and they blamed me for that.. but since i already had a job sheet with me i told them I already have a job sheet and at the time of taking the phone u check the phone yourself .... & after a huge fight they changed extra 500Rs from me...
now coming to the Topic... even if it a hardware issue... i wanted to know first weather some chip need to changed or i need to go for the new motherboard only.... which i very expensive.

Yeah, it 's pretty much the same thing in Croatia. They're too lazy to try fixing a specific part so they will probably replace the whole mobo and make you pay for it. And if they break something, they will either try to blame you or just avoid replacing the part they broke.
Anyhow,I can eventually try relocking the bootloader and pray to god that the repair shop doesn't keep track of the unlocked bl IMEI list from Motorola.

Hi All,
Just wanted to let u know that i have exchange my device for the new one. I hope this information might help you. I had given my phone to the local service center 3 days back and they informed me that its a network IC issue (not a software issue which i already knew it) and it will cost me 4500Rs in india (three month warranty on IC plus 10% changes of damaging the motherboard while repair).
Options that i had -
1 - replace the IC and sell the phone immediately. since even after the battery replacement the phone battery backup was not at all good. Max 5 hours battery backup i was getting on the full battery charge. (I had invested 2200Rs on the battery replacement and not two months had completed and this issue had occurred so i was not in the mood to invent any more money on this crap moto phone.
2 - exchange the phone with the new one. (reliance digital offer me 7k for the exchange which i accepted it)
3 - buy any display broken Device.
how did this happen ?
I was continuously talking on the phone for 4 to 5 hours which made this happened. so I think this happened because of the heating of the phone.

[Q] Guarantee repairs

I bought my GF an HD2 from flebay, brand new, you know the type of ad "unwanted upgrade".
OK OK I know
It hasn't been blocked so the account is still running OK (seller didn't like the HD2 wanted cash to run an iPhone on the account)
Problem is, after 9months the HD2 has started overheating and rebooting when using data or GPS.
If My Location tries to update it reboots, sometimes goes into a continuous reboot loop, only taking the battery out will stop it.
It gets very warm around where the sim card is when this happens.
We've tried a hard reset, no different
Question: Will HTC honour the guarantee (less than 9mnths old) when I'm not the original owner or should I send it to a repair centre and cough up (I guess it needs a new Mboard )
Has anyone been in this situation?
Have I now got an unsaleable brick?
Thanks
I doubt it, have you tried the latest stock rom? that might change the way it runs
Or a not stock rom and radio from this site?

Yep, and cleaned the battery terminals, tried a different battery (out of my HD2).
The phone works OK if we cool it down by leaving it in a cold room for a couple of hours, but then as soon as it gets some hard usage, long phone call, data, GPS it starts to heat up and reboot again.
It just occurred to me we haven't tried a different sim in it, might try that and see if it's any different!
EDIT: GF hasn't used the phone for about a week now, now it won't get past the white HTC boot screen, just continuously looping.
yes they will honour it , i was in exact same situation and they told me it was 100% covered by the warranty , although the blanket email said to include proof of purchase customer service told me not to worry about it . had it back within 5 working days.
definitely sounds like the motherboard. Same problem with mine. T-mobile bought me a new phone.
I think the warranty date period is based off of the imei and when the phone was shipped out. I would call htc and ask. Couldn't hurt
Thanks for the replies, I suppose it's worth a try.
I'll let you know how I get on with HTC
Fixed
Update:
We sent our HD2 back for repair, HTC picked it up and returned it no charge.
Motherboard replaced.
Fault described on the repair document as "MB Current leakage, battery overheat, MB replace."
Totally excellent service.
Thanks HTC we love you

[Q] Frustrated with desire x

I have posted before too on this issue of random reboots on desire x. It seems that i am the only one who have faced random reboot problem multiple times a day( varies between 1-10).
Now i would like to explain my issue in detail. These restarts DOES NOT occur when i am using the phone and running multitude of apps.
It only occurs when the phone is lying idle or when charging. Sometimes it reboots with white HTC screen while sometimes it gets stuck on a black screen( not switched off), in latter case i have to long press the power button to reboot it again. I can't even leave my phone alone while charging because it may crash which will result in missed calls and messages. The phone worked fine for first 4 months of purchase so may not be hardware related. I did upgrade my software twice from 1.18.401(factory) to 1.18.720 . the latest update was 1 week before the problem started.
I did not spent my $400(Indian price) on buying a buggy phone which bothers me and left me wondering why is it behaving so strangely.
The trouble shooting i performed in last month includes -
FACTORY RESETTING 5 TIMES
RUNNING PHONE WITHOUT SD CARD
RUNNING WITHOUT ANY APPS INSTALLED
PUTTING A WEDGE ALONG BATTERY TO ENSURE GOOD CONNECTION
SCRUBBING BATTERY AND PHONE CONTACTS
USING PHONE ON SEVERAL SIM CARDS
The problem may be network related, i don't know.
I am so disappointed in HTC. Is anybody here on software version 1.18.720 and not facing problem of reboots. If the update is faulty HTC should come up with another one.
I am on a sabbatical and 300 miles far from nearest service station for another month. It makes no sense to cover 300 miles and spend hell lotta money just to get this goddamned thing serviced. My last hopes are on Jelly Bean update to solve this problem which seems to take forever in coming to Asia. Is there any way to go back to 1.18.401 which came natively with my phone or some other way to resolve it.
Thank You
Get it replaced in Warranty. THE JB UPDATE WONT SOLVE THIS ISSUE. As it is specific to some users and not others, so its not a SOFTWARE issue. Its Hardware Fault. Get it replaced ASAP.

Let the warranty guys wonder why the issue happened. Its a costly thing, and warranty is EXACTLY for these type of situations. USE it.
Just save yourself the hassle and get it replaced like nexus suggested if you dig into what the causes are it will take a while because i tried to with an older htc device
Jb wont solve it, if its kinda similar to my problem described in your previous thread, motherboard change is the only option
thanx everybody . so that means i will live with this faulty device for sometime more till i go back to my work place n have access to service station

Thats awfuly bad luck... cant you send it via mail to service centre? In czech republic, there is this posibility (and we are around monkeys level here in whole smartphone situation).
I also have 720.3 but don't have such problem.
That's absolutely a hardware problem, take it to service center asap n dont wait for jb update.

YEA may be i can but that will take forever in India to get a proper response from main htc office/SC that is 3500 miles away. I will be in bangalore in may/june so will directly go the main service centre myself. Additionally I don't think they will replace the phone immediately so sending over mail will be useless if i get the same phone back with some temprory tweaking from their side.
I have 6 months of warranty left till November so if it goes bad let it be, my case will get stronger.
Can i flash my phone back to 1.18.420 myself without voiding warranty.?
In future i will think twice before going for HTC
i read somewhere in forums that android phones also need to cool down for sometime and periodic reboots or what they probably meant is switching off the phone for few mins is essential for long life of the phone but may be its just me

thats old desire trick called "put that brick into freezer", but it doesnt help in long term, youll have to cool it whole time youre using it
RANDOM REBOOTING devices with STOCK ROMs have FAULTY HARDWARE.
I phone shouldnt reboot on heat even with extreme use, and if it does, its faulty.
If you have custom roms or kernels, then it might be due to software issue, but on STOCK, its always HARDWARE.

You remember me about my old Mio A701 phone who started to behave strange for month or two... and after that the radio chip crashed...
Also it happend on my wife's LG phone that a little dirty (mettalic I think) on circuit inside right behind the power plug was able to freeze the phone and some times to restart.
So, if you tried all that things and the problem is not solved then it is a hardware problem! You have to disassemble the phone and repair it! Or go to service center (never I had).
its not a heat problem coz .i can use this device for prolonged sessions. only when the screen is off and network on it reboots
PS. when is jb coming to India
Try one more thing there is a app(don't know name) which can increase the minimum processor frequency
Try that out may be your CPU has very low min speed, don't sure about this but give it a try.
If that requires rooting then don't do it.

This was insane...moto e just gave me an mini heart attack....

I know this is long but plz read it....
I was a happy person until i dropped my moto e directly on its screen yesterday. I was shocked to see my screen was fine and nothing damaged, also was working as it was before. Then i did a small water splash test just to boast in front of my friends and it seemed that moto e was supporting me,and frankly speaking i m very moody person...I dont know when my mind changes and i revert back to stock for sum hours and then again to percy's cm11 latest build (i used to do the same with my galaxy y duos for about 2 years and it never seemed to be complaining) and so...yesterday night i reverted back to stock and was using an non-rooted moto e till today afternoon. I had my MBA classes this morning and when i came back home....i switched on the wifi and suddenly i found my screen was bit "extra" responsive to my touches, it opened chrome, minimized my app drawer itself, me and my roommate was just shocked to see so much automated machine, though he said the mayb dropping my moto e on the screen may be the reason , or else the mini splash test is now showing its effects, but i was not getting convinced, i thought it was a software bug coz i didnt noticed any water sluged under my screen, nor any crack, so I made a factory format, here the problem became more worse, my cell was not letting me open anyof the app, he did his own and he even called on my principals cell no., thanks god that i was able to cut the call before it could get connected , i opened my laptop and flashed stock fw again via fastboot, still nothing got changed and it was making my heart beat faster(makig the problem more worse than ever), my roomie sugested me to go to service center, but having an unlocked bootloader , no wayz, so tried locking bootloader but with no success.....I remember, i had an twrp backup of cm11 rom, i just installed twrp and restored the backup, and looooo the problem was nowhere, now its working absolutely fine....
so my question is : was it the software problem ??? i mean the stock rom problem ? coz i was even unable to lock bootloder (i tried maytimes using the same stock fw.) error said "sst lock falure" "preflash validation failed" !!
thanks in advance.....
Such a long story bro![emoji28]
Cool story bro. When the automation was taking place, was the phone kept on charge or was it heated ?

hmm...there is sumthing new that i should add in here...
What happened next is :
the very next hour when i posted this thread... my moto e 's display stopped working full...the very next day i visited the service center and told them abt the prob, (didnt told that ive rooted) , they opened the back panel and said , had yr cell dropped in water (I was shocked to see that they understood so quickly- red litmus indicated that), i said, i donno , mayb my little brother had done sumthing, they said now its out of warrenty and 200/- will be initial charge for checking, i agreed, today they called and said yr problm is solved , come an collect. I went...i checked and became happy to see my prob solved, i came home....and the prob started again...
ufff...very much depressed, i again called the ss guy, he said the screen need to be replaced, and it will need 3k... now i dont even have that much money to pay for screen replacement, now thing to cell moto e in a shop where my frnd works and buy some second hand sony cell...letc which cell i can get by investing some ammnt of money....
current situation: Its working fine.... currently testing in every possible way
and ans to yr que- it didint matter to moto ,its on charging or not, it was just n automated transformer decepticon .... XD
You never mentioned in the OP that your phone fell in water. =.=

Samsung Galaxy S7 Boot Issues, Hardware Failure?

Hi everyone, I really hope somebody can help me with this.
My Mum made a Contract with the Provider o2-DE and they send her an Samsung Galaxy S7. That was in August 2016, the Contract ends in August 2018.
The only Issue she has with it is like I mentioned that the Device has serious Startup Problems, if she powers off the Device, it really becomes a Game of Luck to get it to Power on again.
First Question: Could this be related to the Device having too much Running-Time? (Like about 300+ Hours being on without a single reboot?)
Second Question: Could it be a Hardware Failure or like that o2 did send us a bricked Device which had this Problem from the Beginning?
The Device came with Android 6.0.1, We upgraded it to Android 7.0, we keep checking for Updates but we are kinda afraid of installing them since it needs about 4-5 Hard Reboots till it even starts installing the Update (Also afraid of bricking it because of the Boot Issues ) (And the Updates doesn't seem to bring any improvements related to this...)
And after installing Updates the Boot Issues are coming up again, the last Update even took me about 40-50 Reboots till the Device booted up normally again
Does anyone have an Idea what we could do next?
We eventually wanted to send it in for a Repair, but my Mum urgently needs to be available for Calls (like School of my Sis etc.) but o2 denied sending us an Replacement Device she can use till the S7 would be repaired (which according to the Repair Site might take about 5 Days)
I really hope someone here has any Advice
Have a nice day!
I see that phone has some crack on screen , and also I think that restart can be battery problem or problem on mainboard , it s better to send to Repair !

The Crack on the Screen is gladly only in the Tempered Glass though The Device always gets really hot during the restart loop and Battery drains like hell, so I suppose it's maybe even both the Battery and the Mainboard... Anyways, thank you for your Answer, I'll try to send it in

Hardware or Software-level Problem? [Battery Issue]

This is bugging me for such a long time now. I've had this problem for such a long time. The issue is that everytime the phone reaches 100% of charge, and leaving it for a while (maybe like 5 mins-ish?), The phone suddenly reboots (hard reboot not soft-reboot) and continues to charge but in the idling turned-off mode (only the battery logo is displaying).
Solutions I've tried but didn't or barely work:
Replacing the Battery itself
Switch to different Kernels
Switch to different ROMS (MIUI, AOSP, OOS etc.)
Full drain to 0% and charge to 100% while off
This leaving me confused af and irritated because everytime I want to charge my phone overnight or I just want to leave my phone charged all the time to minimize the battery degradation, the phone reboots completely out of the blue, letting me miss the notifications that I haven't read yet. I need help on this please.

Unfortunately it doesn't solve the problem. The issue still persists
you need to take the device to the service I guess this is not a software problem
Probably an issue with the board already, either due to a fall or maybe the device you bought may have just have been defective. I would have suggested that you brought it to a service center (since you said you had the issue for a longtime then maybe you could have had it serviced while it still had warranty)

Oh I forgot to mention, yes it may have been a long time issue, but it just started to happen right around 3 months after I bought it. I bought my phone brand new last year, and it didn't have the issue I'm facing now. Sadly, the warranty doesn't cover the battery issue, since I just bought it form a random retail store (not Xiaomi)

Sorry to hear that. Well, it would be best to have it checked by a repairman by this point since based on all the info you've provided you've tried all the troubleshooting steps software wise, so it may be the board by this point. Or if that random store offered you a repair warranty (most rando stalls in my country has that, not sure about yours) then you may swing by there
what about charger?

Well if it's a hardware issue from the board itself, maybe I'll just pass for now. The repair warranty though doesn't really cover some major problems like motherboard and battery, it actually needs to paid so ig it's a no for me. I'll just replace it myself over time if the board breaks itself.

I had no issues on charger either. I used a different Xiaomi charger from another phone, and the battery issue is still there. I even opted in using a samsung charger with usb-c, and still the problem persists.
