[T95Z] Infected Rom V1.0 - Android Stick & Console AMLogic based Computers

T95Z 3/32 INFECTED ROM V1.0
Introduction
Here is another Custom Rom I've made for the 3/32 T95Z Android Box. It is based of the Android TV OS 7.1.2, Custom Recovery (TWRP) is already included, has been debloated, etc, a few init.d tweaks added.
If you like this Rom and care to make a Donation, you can DONATE HERE.

Installation Instructions
Flash through USB Burning Tools which can be downloaded from here.
A Video showing the procedure can be watched here.
Not the best video, but should be good enough for beginners to get a understanding of what to do.
Download
Full uncompressed Rom can be downloaded from here.
A Compressed version of this .img can be downloaded here.
Extract and then flash the .img through USB Burning Tool.
Both versions are the same, just one is compressed to save on Download Size. Just make sure if downloading the Compressed Zip, to extract to the .img file to Flash.
Special Notes:
When Netflix asks to upgrade to newer version or not, decline, otherwise it will upgrade to a version that is not Remote Friendly or one that won't open, I have tried to install Netflix from the Android TV Play Store, it installs, but it won't open, I need to look into it a bit further, so just stick with the version I have included for now.

I'm not sure what you're asking, the link you provided is AptoideTV by the looks of it?

This is awesome. I am downloading now. Thanks so much for your hard work on this guys. Any major bugs we should be aware of?

Do we need to use the burn tool at all or can we just drop the .img file onto a thumb and flash in TWRP?

I would use the Burn Tools, I haven't tried to flash this Rom .img through TWRP honestly, so couldn't tell you, if you want to try, let me know the result.

Well, I see what you mean now. Going through TWRP I get a failed message that says "size of image is larger than target device". I have a feeling there is a method I'm totally missing here. What route would you suggest? Also, thanks in advance ?

The USB burning tool as per the instructions. Only method I have tried and verified myself, so stick with that.

Can you please tell me how to turn off this dang box LED on this ROM?

Will you make the rom for the 2/16gb version?
Thanks!

For now, you won't be able to, as the LED was embedded into the old SunvellWin8 Launcher, You may be able to open the box up and disconnect it, not too sure though, I'll probably have a look at doing this myself.

Maybe, not too sure yet, If I get ahold of the 2GB Stock Firmware for 1081, I could, but as I only have the 3gb Box, I can't really test.

Try the Cetus Play apk.

No good for me. USB burning tool halted and failed at 2%. I have the T95Z 3/32 version. Now it could be my USB cable which I saw was the case with other devices and it also doesn't seem to be a common issue as if right now. I'll pick up another cable this week and see.

[ONLINE ROM LIBRARY, GUI & Android TOOL for HTC PHONES]

We've updated a bit....
Download Link: [Here]
We now have a complimentary app on the app store for this A4D App.
What is A4D?
The goal of A4D is for us to move beyond just N1 make it an all in one flashing/upgrading/android utility. We just added a ROM library with MD5s. We are not going to be hosting the actual ROMs by themselves so if you report a dead link, they will be taken down (after a number of reports). You can also add your own ROMs as well into the library.
The ROM library will be supported by both Android and Desktop App. We are rewriting the Desktop apps so that we can do all 3 platforms in one, Linux, Windows, and Mac. You'll love the layout of the app. That's all we can say for now.
Oh one more thing. The android app won the best android app award at the Mobile in the Middle Hack-a-thon over the weekend in Chicago (on 3/6/2010).
I would like you guys to try out the app and tell us feedbacks. Also feel free to add your own ROMs to the Database and tell us how we can make the DB better. There a number of features we are trying to add as well. But with our full time jobs... things are going a little slower than we wanted. Sorry.
Requirements to run the app on Android: Amon_RA's recovery. That's what we tested it with.

Can't wait to see if this is fool proof.
Add md5 check. Make it in this way: user have to enter/copy-past md5 hashsum from forum/site. Program calculates md5 of image and says image is good or bad. Also you can disable flashing with out this check. ;-)
good idea. Will do that. That will help with flashing screwed up downloads.
Hi
Thank you for sharing the application.
Does it flash the radio too? I mean CyanogenMod has two files a radio ROM and a CyanogenMod ROM. Does it flash both of them to the phone?
Thanks.
Radio flash is in there we took it out. May do so in the next release but radio flashing is dangerous (can brick phones) so...
Hey Lwin,
Nice concept man, this is gonna prove very handy for many peeps.
You've come up trumps again
So, this is a desktop application?
Does it flash ROM's from your desktop or copy them over and just run the commands on the phone for you?
I ask, as I'm having some problems flashing now, based round a slightly faulty Micro SD card. Does it store backups on the phone or on your desktop PC?
This program is written so you don't have to do command line commands. Everything else remains the same. If you are doing a Nand backup, it goes where it used to go.
I would recommend fixing your "slightly faulty Micro SD card" by getting a new card.
nice app for those that aren't familiar with cmd or jus pure...lazy lol
maybe the screens should be bigger as quite hard to see clearly whats available.
Pure Genius...

Here is the GUI tool for unlocking, updating, restoring, flashing of the N1 (and in theory should work on all HTC androids).
Try it out and see if it is useful. The tool is made to help for people with very basic skills since the tool at this stage is a wrapper for the shell commands at this point.
Again, as usual, we take no responsibility for loss of sleep, loss of phone or screw ups on our side (due to app) or on your side (due to lack of ability to follow instructions).
I wish to make it more simple. We welcome feed backs.

There will be a mac port sometime this week. I can most likely port to linux too but if you know linux and if you have to use wrapper, you have an issue
install issues
I tried to install it but got a system update required....
extracted the sdk to the folder C:\android-sdk-windows
extracted android4dummies and clicked setup
I get a pop up with the following:
unable to install or run the application. the application requires that system assembly system.data, entry version 3.5.0.0 be installed in the global system cache.....???
What do I do now?
Sounds like the app uses .NET framework 3.5.
So goto microsoft website an get 3.5 .Net Framework.

You do need .Net 3.5. It should have asked you, if not installed that as a prerequisite.
I went to MS and downloaded the .net 3.5 installed it (apparently it was already on my pc, so instead of installing I tried to repair it. no success....

Can you send us a screenshot.
Do not unzip into C:\android-sdk-windows. App will install SDK or search for the SDK there.
Unzip on your desktop or temp and install from there.
just to be clear, I unzipped adroid sdk and placed in the mentioned location. the android4dummies is extracted on the desktop and executed from there..
so should I remove the SDK and retry?

CM12 / Android TV ROM Development

This thread is for development updates, and an eventual release of testing candidates for the future of dual booting CM12 android roms on the Amazon Fire TV. At this time I am not planing on supporting the Fire TV stick since my development platform is based off USB3 booting.
There currently isn't even a stable branch in CM12 upstream so things are quite tricky right now.
I may eventually setup public nightlies once the core is stable.
IN PROGRESS FORM HERE: https://t.co/TXp9z7htDx
The goals for development are in this order:
Wifi [working]
Bluetooth [crashing]
Stable core [random resets possibly storage related]
Audio [possibly needs hacking to default to hdmi]
Recovery system [rom boots using the recovery partition currently]
Hardware Acceleration [untested]
Android TV addons [require stable core]
USB Formating and install app [apparently not everyone knows what gparted is]
Modified version of Rbox's bootloader [I'd like to add recovery to the loader then have stock and custom boot options]
Also, if you want to be ready for possible nightly testing, I highly recommend going to walmart and buying one of the playstation USB3 hubs. It's about $20 but allows you to plug in a USB3 drive and keyboard and mouse until bluetooth is working.
SETTING UP USB BOOTING:
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/* * Your warranty is now void. *
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead USB drives,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in these files
* before flashing them! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you. */
PART ONE [Preparing the drive]:
This process will eventually be streamlined but for now I'll explain the process and how it relates to testing builds during development. Since the Fire TV only has an 8gb flash chip and has no hardware recovery trigger, it is quite the unforgiving device to develop on. The current boot method for my CM12 builds involves flashing over the recovery partition and using it as a sort of dualboot partition. The modified recovery partition then searches for ext4 partitions on and external (USB3 preferred) flash drive. Currently each build generates its own boot image to be flashed over recovery, but I'm currently in the process of exploring the possibility of following Rbox's method of loading a boot image from a system folder instead making only one flash to the actual device necessary going forward.
For USB3 booting during the development process I highly recommend using a USB3 hub for a keyboard and mouse while bluetooth pairing and control mapping is being worked on. I also recommend a USB3 drive.
1) Turn on a Linux machine or boot a Live CD
2) Open Gparted
3) Delete any partitions on the usb drive
4) Create three ext4 partitions, the first partion is system and should be about 1GB, the THIRD partition is cache, and should be about 768mb with 0mb following, you should then have the middle portion empty in the display, in this SECOND partition make your data partition fill the rest of the space.
PART TWO [Preparing the bootloader]:
WARNING this process currently involves replacing your recovery partition, remember kids dd and root is like holding a grenade, make sure you don't throw it at something you care about.
Also, if you are testing a build and it does not load using the previous bootloader, try flashing the latest one from the nightlies (and vise versa) as I am still in the process of stream lining the boot process as far as what should take place before system bring up on our device. If a different boot image loads the system with noticeably more stability let me know asap so I can track the causes of my current issues.
Code:
adb connect <STOCK FIRE TV IP>
adb push boot-<DATE>.img /sdcard
adb shell
cd /sdcard
su
dd if=boot-<DATE>.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery
Next I recommend side loading this apk to make rebooting into USB boot easier.
The three most recent "boot" images have been added to the downloads section, remember these should be flashed to recovery. Although they would work in boot, that would disable Rbox's loader and prevent you from loading stock OS.
PART THREE [Playing with instability]:
Great so now you have a USB3 booting image flashed to your recovery partition and you have an empty flash drive. This is where the tinkering begins. In the download section you will find a .tar.gz archive with a somewhat booting system with the aforementioned issues. Inside this archive is a system.img file which you will use dd to flash to the first partition of the flash drive you formated. After the system image is flashed you can plug your flash drive into your hub and reboot into recovery. Things will be great, wifi will show up and if you're quick enough you can complete setup and make it to the launcher. (the issue I'm currently working on is an odd timed reset that may be kernel or storage related oddly if you make it to the launcher and don't touch anything, it takes longer to reset)
If you made it this far, welcome to development. You can help by "kanging" (replacing system apk's and files with other versions to find more stable matches, or remove apks until things don't die then report back to me) Also if you make it to this point go ahead and fill out the form I mentioned earlier. Eventually any hotfix builds I do between nightly builds will be accessible to those users to play with.
Overhauling the boot system next and working on the reset debugging.

UPDATE: I'm pretty much settled in to my new job/home now so I'm going to resume this project shortly. The first order of business is to see what sort of driver improvements we got from Amazon and whether their modifications help resolve the issues I was having. I only have the original FireTV so I'll be only testing on that. Not sure if the new one has an unlocked bootloader or recovery system so that will be up to whichever brave soul wants to test that. Hopefully tomorrow I can resync my repos and get a look at whats changed.

Thanks for the update! Looking forward to seeing how this progresses.
Thanks for your work!
It would be nice run a CM12 build in Fire TV
So far the main system seems promising, I feel like the reset issue, which is the primary major roadblock is either in the kernel, or in the storage management/selinux services. Selinux should be disabled in this build so I'm looking into the other two options right now.

Hey,
i've got one question for the installation:
you use the recovery as boot partition (because you dont want to mess with the actual boot partition where the bootmenu is).
is there a reason we cant use rbox's bootmenu, add another entry "usb boot" which will boot from /system/boot/usbboot.img ?
Or is the only reason that this just hasnt been added by rbox so we have to use another way?
I think this would be the most brick safe version and shouldnt be a big problem for rbox to implement....
Chris

i'm really looking forward to this

Thats one of the goals I put up there, just unlike rboxs current loader I know a way to make it remote controlled. ;D I started a bit on it. The "friendly user release" will have a root installer app that will handle multiboot, formating flash drives, recovery options, updates etc.
Really looking forward to a CM12 Android TV ROM. It would be nice to know that Amazon would not be able to kill a rooted Fire TV when this becomes reality. Peace of Mind regarding the Fire TV would be Priceless!

I recently installed CM 12 on a 2012 kfhd and wow!--it really brought that device to life! Performance/OC options are built right into the OS and another Dev made a custom kernel to oc to 1.7 ghz. But I have limited experience with CM and Android TV. Can we expect a similar UI and performance options with this? Or is it different for the set top boxes?
BTW--I think it's really great you're doing this. Lots of people are excited and it's very appreciated!!!

I can overclock the kernel but I'm not sure if it will be necessary yet. As for the features, CM12 doesn't even have a "stable" build yet. (they call them M builds now) They are still porting customizations like that in. That rom may use some stuff pulled in by the dev from other projects like paranoid, aokp etc. I'm listening to what people are asking for and I'll be taking it into consideration once I get to tweaking release candidates.

Sounds great. Thinking now...an OC kernel probably isn't necessary since it's already real fast. But this rom I have works well on a relatively low end/older device. So I'm super excited about your project. Thanks again!

After looking into it, it seems I added an extra unneeded character to the script. I'm reuploading the correct version now, and I'll replace the download link accordingly! Sorry about that!
The fixed version is now uploaded. Give that a try and let me know!
Just installed with windows 10 and installer worked with no problems. Will boot into mint and try installer and report back.

NEWS! Keymapping for Games is coming to RemixOs..

Yeah,you heard it right!
The long awaited feature, ability to map keys for games that are originally developed for touchscreen enabled devices are coming to RemixOs.
The chinese version of RemixOs has a new version (2.0.401) dated 27th June 2016,which claims to support keymapping.
You can check the changelog at https://bbs.jide.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=7351
I wanted to give it a try.but the download was stucked due to the low bandwith offered by server, unfortunately.
If you are brave enough to take a early look,or can't wait for the global release. here are the download links.
1) http://pan.baidu.com/s/1bpibhZT
Code: gbku
2) https://yunpan.cn/OcRUtwhPNKenuX
Code: 938d
PS: Those files are hosted in chinese servers,so the bandwith is not super high. You're on your own,and ask google translate for help

There're few bugs that stop Android-x86 6.0 from daily use. For example,Google play services always crash on Intel Gen8+ GPUs,which is not fixed yet.
But the devs at Jide are actively contributing to Android-x86 6.0 and you'll be able to see the results in near future. For instance, the issue of Time being reset in Windows is fixed
in the latest commit, Check the marshmallow-x86 branch at https://github.com/android-x86-mirror
Hmm...seems like a solid release. I will wait for the official announcement and update though. If it fixes my nvidia/wifi/sound issues I might actually start using this

I think there is no remix os 3.0 for PC(x86) :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying:
I downloaded and installed it. My impression :
1 Locked DOWN, no more root command line
2 No Play Store option
3 Does include keymapping
4 Stock file manager can no longer read the partition on which Remix OS is installed
5 Maybe a little more quick because of changes to disk partition access
This may be because it is currently for Chinese users, hopefully there will be more flexibility with the release
EDIT 2016/07/01: After solving problems of getting into root command line, was able to deactivate jide app policy and then went on to install nova launcher, etc. Then using help from @HypoTurtle I was able to do systemless root. Everything now operating well. I will continue testing this 2.0.401 over the next few days for stability.
Summary:
1 No longer locked down
2 Play Store is activated
3 keymapping confirmed
4 Solid Explorer can read all disk partitions by using Stickmount
5 So far seems quicker than 2.0.205

If someone can post the ramdisk I'll compare to the previous version but regardless the current systemless root su/ramdisk.img should work fine; unless it's drastically different.

[How-To] Install Windows on Android version [YB1-X90L/F]

Hello guys!
I'm starting this thread as I managed to install win10 on my X90L (Android) YogaBook
It was not easy to find a way to fix the ACPI error but it is possible!
Will update this post in a few hours with a guide on how to do it yourself.
UPDATE: link to the guide -> poz1.com/windows-on-android-lenovo-yogabook/
PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU CONTINUE YOU WILL END UP WITH A YOGABOOK WITHOUT INPUT DEVICES!!!
(EXTERNAL KEYBOARD WILL BE NEEDED) AND NO ANDROID INSTALL!!!
So far i got almost everything working except:
- Touchscreen
- Keyboard
- Webcam in the keyboard panel (the other one works fine)
- NFC
- Backlight Control (added 25/5/2018)
I'm getting very near to have the touch and the keyboard working though
P.s. In attach you find the outputs from 3DMark - IceStorm Extreme (default settings), would be much appreciated if someone with the real Win version shared its score
Any chance of posting you work to date. Got an X90F just crying out for Windows.

I have added the link to the guide! If yo have any issues let me know but keep in mind that currently no input devices (touchscreen or keyboard) work!
Thanks for posting this. I am really so impressed. Will be trashing my X90F tomorrow. Just got to dig out a powered USB hub. Ill report back, and lets see what happens.
(Hopefully not a brick)
OK,
So far so good. I get to the amending of the of aml. But keep getting.
Intel ACPI Component Architecture
ASL+ Optimizing Compiler/Disassembler version 20180508
Copyright (c) 2000 - 2018 Intel Corporation
iASL: Segmentation Fault
iASL: Terminating
To clarify the process. Decompile the DSTDroid.aml, then insert the OperationRegion (GNVS, SystemMemory, 0x7B3CF000, 0x0369)
Field (GNVS, AnyAcc, Lock, Preserve)
{ etc.. } section from the DSTDroid.dsl and use it to replace the equivalent section in the DSTWin.dsl in your files.
Then compile the DSTWin.dsl with the
iasli -ta DSDTWin.dsl
command.
This is how I am reading it, but have not managed to get it to work yet.
It decompiles with the two errors you mention, but wont recompile no matter how I try it.
I am using Notepadd++ so its not hidden characters.
Any thoughts, and thanks again for your efforts on this.

Hello Broomfundel,
I never got that error, but it seems to be a problem of the ASL Compiler build not of your file.
I am using Mac so I have another build, if you want to post the file I can compile it for you .
Otherwise you can try an older release or to build the tool from source maybe?

Hi,
KernelFlinger is opensource and come with an installer, it should be pretty simple to install it.
Right now I don't have my YogaBook as I am travelling but I can try in the next few days
OK, Older release worked, but I get a .hex file, your instructions talk about a new aml file. Do I use the .hex file or is there another option other than the -ta one that would create the aml.
BTW. I am enjoying this. So thanks again.

With the -ta option I get both the .hex and the .aml file but you can try -tc if it doesn't work. Maybe due to the different build
P.s. (for other people that may incur in this) If you don't get the output files check that you have as last line of the terminal
"Compilation complete. 0 Errors"
OK, I am getting 7 errors. My current theory is that the DSTDWin.dsl will only compile with the same version number of the compiler it was decompiled with. I have attached my DSDTDroid.dsl so you can have a go. At least it will prove I got things right up to that point. Might be worth posting the original DSTDWin.aml for me to try this end.
If we are lucky it might turn out that the patched DSTDWin.aml files are consistent across the same model devices.
So... It seems both pen mode and keyboard mode of holo keyboard won't work... Am I right?
It's sad that if they won't work even we install the drivers from the lenovo website

There you go I'm also updating the files DSTDWin of my blog with one with some fixes Well they depend on the settings you use in your Bios (that's why Windows may not boot after install, it changes some parameters (the wait time of the bios and the default boot partition)). When you use the builtin one is the bios that "updates" it for you but for now we need to do it by hand If we are going to end with everything working we can release a patched "Win" bios and everything will be simpler

Just another Question, you as a Advance user, do you believe that we (yoga book Windows owners) can boot Android yb STOCK ROM ( i mean not the Android x86 based distros)?
Yes, but I think you would have to do the "reverse" DSDT injection (from win to android) as the official ROM has drivers for that components.
This means that, if you're lucky you would end up with our same problems (keyboard, pen and touch). If we don't fix that before
The problem with Android is that it is meant to be flashed on rom instead of being installed and this makes things more difficult.
It should be possible to flash the rom on an USB key, add grub and use it for DSDT injection like we do and see what happens.
Another problem is that the provided kernelflinger seems to have most of the security options enabled so 99% it will refuse to boot anyway.
Since it is opensource it should be possible to fix this anyway.
So yes, but it a loooong journey
