[Q] One X+ Root

Hello there,
I just got my HTC One X+ and have it all stock.
Only thing i want is to get ROOT acces, so i can use and delete certain apps.
What is the best way to do so?
Dont want to install custom ROMs or Kernels yet.
Also i wonder, if i ROOT it and later on i get a official HTC update, will it un-root again?
Ow btw, when i go to htcdev i cant see the One X+ (i probably overlooking something)
Help me out and i will thank u
Greetz!
I also have another question:
With the One X Plus u get a free urBeats headset if you register it @ HTC.
But on pics ive seen on the internet i see some sort of disk with the free urBeats on them.
i didnt have anything in my package referring to the urBeats > but i have ordered them @ HTC
I just had to upload my purchase paper and my IMEI number.
Hope this is good, anyone knows?
Ty

Bro here is my recommendation...use the following tools from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1994961
Also when you go to HTCdev, you dont need to look for the exact One X+, you can just choose any supported device will do.
Personally I am also on stock....have not install custom ROMs yet (waiting for more ROM to come up and stabilize).

I think this one depend on the country where you buy it from?? Some country may have the promo and some not. That is why they need your IMEI so they can determine which stock it is??

[Q] How can I upgrade my Doogee dg 300?

I noticed that the Doogee is actualy recognized by the computer as a HTC device. Now I'm in doubt on how to upgrade its Jelly Bean to Kit kat, as I can't find any specific tutorial on the web.
This forum section is for the HTC One (M8) and the hardware is not even remotely similar to the phone you mention. Its unlikely anyone on this forum section can help you.
Why's the phone recognized as a HTC one then? Even when rooted it, it was recognized as HTC one. If the category is wrong, point the right one, as I couldn't find it in the listing (M8).

Hard to say why it was recognized as such, however, since the two devices don't share even similar hardware, this is not the right forum.
As for the correct forum, if you can't find your device here, that means it's not supported here.

Just some error. The computer probably just doesn't recognize the phone brand/model. Just because the computer says its an M8, doesn't magically make it an M8.
The hardware is not even remotely similar. M8 has a 2.3 GHz quad core Snapdragon 801 chipset. According to the Doogee website, the phone you mention has a dual core 1.3 Ghz Cortex A7 dual core chipset.
For more obscure devices, you won't find a device section. So your best bet is to post to the Q&A in "Android Development and Hacking" section: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help
But posting to the wrong device section is definitely not the right place.

which so plus model do you recommend

Yeah I'm tired of not being able to root and flash rom's so I'm going to purchase a international version of the Samsung galaxy s9 plus device. Thanks!!!
So, you open a thread, don't ask a question, and then tell us something.... I don't understand...

He did ask a question. Its the title of the thread. I believe he wants to know which Exynos variant to get.
IM not sure how many variations of the Exynos exist. I will google around.
I just thought maybe there was one that most people buy that one to be able to use your phone to the full extent that's all

No, I just looked.
The only difference that I can see are some of them have Dual SIMS and some may not.
That is the only difference I can see.
I don't know what country you are in so maybe just look at the local shops. But I don't thin kit will matter unless you want Dual SIM.

i thought that you could use the dual sim as a hybrid and put in a sd card
If you want root SM-G965F/DS EU version I feel is solid.
128 GB version here for ~$880 (FYI I don't have any experience with these sellers): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CCF4VQL

iwas looking at them, anyone buy from them?

Is there an S9+ SM-G965U1 root tool yet?

The title says it all, really. But I'll elaborate anyway so this won't get marked as spam.
I have an S9+, model number SM-G965U1. I know it's possible to root the S9+, but I haven't found any way to root this particular model.
Does anyone know something I don't? A way to root it, a person who's working on it, anything?

It might get marked as spam because if the same question gets asked in different threads a lot. I recall at least 3 so far all asking the same exact thing. A thread asking if a root method exists was made 2 days ago. You can view the thread here
USA Snapdragon G965U (and U1) there is nothing as of yet. If there was (or any sign/hint/indication) then there would be a lot of discussion on it. I am not sure what you think you know or what your source is but there is a difference between "possible" and "a way to make it happen". Sure it is possible to root the phone, but as of yet there doesn't seem to be any indication a way to make it happen exists. I am sure people are working on it but I doubt they will be openly discussing the method or much on the matter.. No reason to tip one's hand on what they are doing (or what exploit they are gonna use) just to have Samsung end up patching it.
International G965 I am not sure if a root method exists or not.
Exynos S9+ version seems to have a root method already.. The forum here should tell you what you need to know.

i have the g695u and i was wondering the same thing. ive always wanted to root my phone because i like to play with things lol. more so because i like checking out all kinds of apps and programs and i like to make things my own so to speak. im new to this and ive been considering it for years since i had my s2 but i dont want to mess up and not be able to use my phone. ive seen a few apps that id love to check out but cant because they require root. so i guess my question is how do i do that and i how do i free my phone from being carrier locked. i have a note 8 id like to use and cant but thats a long story on its own.
NamelessPick51
To unlock your phone from being carrier locked you can either go through the carrier and request it to be unlocked. Otherwise there are 3rd party services that can do this, but they are pay for services. I myself used UnlockPolice to sim unlock my phone and that cost $180.00. Other services exist that range in price, but be aware of those cheaper services as there are some that are scams. One in particular I tried cost 13.00 and had you install an APK to enter a code... Suffice it to say 100% rip off since the phone does not use an unlock code (UICC unlock does not use an apk or code) nor does it use an APK to unlock the phone (I have a Sprint S9+ and the only ones I know that use an APK for unlocking is T-Mobile).
If the carrier can't do it for you or the pay for 3rd party services are not an option then there is nothing you can do. As of right now no method exists for us to sim unlock the phone any other way. If you have further questions I would suggest reading different threads here on the subject. You can find suggestions on 3rd party services to try as well.
For the rooting I answered that already with what information that exists. Let me rephrase it a little to include a little more info.
If you have the exynos version then there is a root method. Check this thread out to find out.
Otherwise if you have an USA snapdragon G965 (U or U1) then there is no root method as of yet. It is inevitable that one will be created and it will be made available for us, but currently no time table or other info exists that says when or where that will happen. Either way it will take time before something happens, so be patient and keep checking for any news announcements or other threads talking about a root method for US Snapdragon G965 that actually exists.
Hello everyone and one year after the last answer, someone knows something about how to root the SM-G965U1, please if anyone knows something, share, thanks

this is 2023 still not ???

Rootable?

Anyone have an idea if this phone can be rooted?

I'm also interested in this. It is a Android One phone but this does not seem to imply being unlockable?
I've contact Nokia support a few days ago to ask if the official bootloader unlock will also be available for the 7.1. They replied (quite quickly) that they could not confirm an unlock will be available, only for 8 now, but that news about this would be coming soon.

I hope it is seeing how I'm planning on picking 2 of these up. I could see them not allowing it officially since the 8 is their flagship phone. I know HTC used to allow almost all of their phones to be unlocked. LG only allows their flagship devices to be unlocked, the V and G series. I so hope this isn't the case with Nokia.
EDIT: Spelling, sorry
This seems to suggest Kingroot works; can anyone confirm?

Looks like a generic guide, highly unlikely that it will work. The other method listed there needs an unlocked bootloader which isn't officially possible (yet?) and twrp.
