I need a way to be able to voice dial at any time even with the phone locked or with some other app the Voice Talk open via Bluetooth, I know this is possible on Android since my old Motorola Milestone could do it and would be legal under the new laws.
My province is now getting distracted driving laws which will make using my phone illegal with how many steps it takes currently.
I refuse to give up locking my phone since I have private info on it but I need to be able to make calls by pressing the button on my Bluetooth even with the phone locked since it could even be in my jeans pocket with no way to get at it when sitting.
Currently on my GS2 I have to unlock the phone then double click the home button to bring up voice dialing or even open the voice talk app if I am in a different app.
Compared to my Milestone where I never touched it and at any time even pattern locked or in a different app I could just press the button on my Bluetooth and say "call jane" or something and it always worked.
How can I get this back? Considering the laws are coming into effect next month for me.
I would like to keep the stock Samsung voice for most time but would be willing to have a second one that works even if the phone is locked.
I also have people that want this phone but willn't buy it until I get this fixed.
Use Tasker to disable the lock pattern when connected to a bluetooth device - therefore when you disconnect from your car bluetooth, your lock pattern will re-activate.
Problem solved!
OK I have that and think I am close to setting it up but can't totally figure it out how to disable the lock screen.
All I have figured out is a profile that runs if a mic headset is connected but when I try to figure out the task it does I get stuck.
I have never used Tasker before.
This is suddenly going to be to expensive since I found out the SGS2 requires extra work to disable the pattern lock which is a extra $10 plugin and I am not even sure if I want to pay for Tasker itself after the 7 day trial.
I might try and find out how it was done on my old phone when locked.
For others that may want to kn ow here is the thread for this on a GS2

Nope, you don't need the plugin - there's a keyguard action that you would disable, which also disables the lockscreen.
I'm trying to set this up myself, but for some stupid reason, it's not responding when I press my bluetooth button at all...

Are you sure that would work on our Samsung phones since they modified the locking system to use the /efs partition?
If you do get it working make sure to tell me how.
Hi, since updating to Jelly Bean, 2.4.whatever it is now. The latest one as of 04/05/2013, I've had this irritating message pop up every time I connect to, or, DISCONNECT from mobile data 3G network. Alerting me when I connect I could understand if not condone, but when I choose to DISCONNECT? What the hell android? Now as a user of an open source device, naturally I'd expect some sort of option to tick in the pop up saying "never affront me with this stupid and unnecessary bothersome tripe until the day I am a cold and maggot ridden corpse", sadly, no such thing. Every time. Every god-of-reader's-choice damned time.
On my previous S3, I found a work around. Flash a new ROM. Went with Cyanogen mod but lost a load of features I liked, such as calling people from contacts by simply swiping right, and a hell of a lot of other things I just couldn't be bothered to wait for the Cyanogen devs to build in. So I tried flashing back to stock, wrote the phone off. Yes, it was bricked beyond repair, no recovery options, just download mode, forever, and, without USB debugging so I couldn't force root or roms or anything else.
Dead.
I really don't want to have to go through that with my replacement. I have rooted it, which is basically safe, so I was able to kill the other annoying aspect of the S3, the loud alert which sounds just to let you know you've connected or disconnected the charger. AS THOUGH YOU HADN'T NOTICED WHEN YOU DID IT. So, rooted it, found the sound file, deleted. Done.
What I want to do now is, find the pop up... code. Or whatever it is. And delete that too. Or the code that says "display irritating pop up now", or something. It must be stopped. Please, if there is anyone who has found a way around this, which doesn't involve flashing a new ROM, I'd really appreciate it and by the extensive Google search, so will about...4 other people in the world.
TLDR:
Need help disabling the notification which pops up when I connect or disconnect mobile data.
I don't want to flash a new rom.
I am rooted, but wouldn't how to get into the code.
Maybe something which displays an active process tree on my PC while I'm using the phone, I can turn on data connectivity and see what the console displays? Then find and stab the sh*t out of the code...
Ta!
Guys! I need help please! I have an Lg Optimus F3, and today early in the morning i downloaded some random game to play, don't remember the name, but it kinda froze my phone, so i hit the home key, and then all these messages popped up saying, "This application has stopped working" for every single app.
Then, my phone turned off, and now every time i try to turn it on it takes like 30 minutes to show the LG logo, then after another 15 or so eventually loads the actual boat up menu, and after about another 5 loads the home screen.
Settings are also being stupid. I try to go into Security and they force close. And the home screen won't load.
I've only had it since like september, so it's too early for a new phone.
I did a factory reset when it wouldn't turn on, so now it's in stock, just like when i first got it. But it still won't work.
Anyone have any suggestions please? I just want it to boot up fast, and start working like normal again.

You will have to flash a kdz (stock firmware) file via LG Flash tool (R&D Test Tool). You will find the needed informations HERE.
Also, if you aren't sure what the name of it is, you should be able to go to the Play Store via any browser and log in and look at your apps. You should be able to tell from there. This might not help you get your phone running again, but if you let others know you had trouble with it, it might be helpful to others.

Thanks for the help guys. Didn't work thought. I just contacted LG, and they told me to send in the phone, and they should be able to fix it. Thank you though.
What didn't work?
I keep getting the "Charging blocked due to moisture" popup out of nowhere. This phone has not seen any water other than a little rain.
Already tried clearing the cache of the LG System Server app.
Tried clearing out any debris from the charging port.
The phone charges fine when powered off. Just not when on.
When I plug it in while off it sometimes launches itself to the LG Firmware Update Screen.
I can't use the LG Mobile Support tool as the phone won't connect to my PC.
I have tried every possible trick from this thread here, even this here https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg...rt-warning-t3617975/post74392539#post74392539.
Nothing is working
Try putting the phone in a bucket of rice over night. Then see what happens. If it works, then Id blame the rain, otherwise if it still isnt working, then you have a hardware defect.

How many different cables have you tried?
Sent from my LG-H932 using Tapatalk
My Samsung S8 does this from time to time.
The trick is to get it properly wet (like running it under a tap); then dry it out again properly using rice etc.
Tried all of the above. Still comes and goes as it pleases. LG wants me to send my phone away for 2 weeks to get it fixed, and that's just not realistic right now.

Can you tell us how to access the hidden menu and what did you turn off? I have LG G6 but the exact same issue.
*#546368#*930# ----> SVC Menu ---> Moisture Detect Setting ---> Disable
Let me know if it helps!
EDIT: one detail was missing, open LG default dialer ( with google's, and probably others, it doesn't work ) and type the code above to access the hidden menu.
Now that I pay attention to it I notice your signature tells your wrote it from an H932 that means the code for you changes to *#546368#*932#

Thank you for that info. Unfortunately, my phone G6 - H872 does not have that option in the SVC Menu. I wonder if there is another menu that this option can be accessed from. If it does, it would be a life saver.
(was already answered. Sorry for the duplication)
The V30 service menu has a setting to enable/disable moisture detection. My stock AT&T H931 had this set to Disable. In the service menu, you can change the setting. Perhaps the moisture sensor is defect and produces a false alarm?
There are other posts about the service menu, but here is the short version. Use the native dialer and type in *#546368#*931# <<substitute 931 with your phone version. Up comes the menu with 4 categories. Under SVC Menu further down find the Moisture Detect Setting. Perhaps disabling will help solve the problem.
Cheers,

You can't get into the hidden menu? Then you need a different menu code.

My found died completely, while on vacation. And my phone still refused to charge wen plugged in. Either showed me 0% plug in OR moisture block unplug.
I found a way to beat it.
I dont know if it will work for all phones. But for my LG G6 it works.
Plug the phone in >>>>> Press and hold >>>>Volume up + Down + Power Button all the the same time >>>>> HOLD Until >>>> IMEI displays.
It wont show that the phone is charging!! BUT IT IS.
I did this last night. Turned the phone on trying to get out of that mode. And i had 1%.
Repeated steps. And left the phone to charge for about 4 hrs. >>> unplugged >>>> turned on >>>> 100%
Hope thos helps someone else.

Which carrier model do you have?

Hi,
I have an S9+ with Rogers in Canada, which was recently upgraded to Android pie. Ever Since I have not been able to use Google assistant when the phone is in sleep mode. Prior to the update, I was able to say "OK Google: set the timer for xxx minutes", when the phone was in sleep mode. But now it doesn't work anymore, other than vibrating. It still works on other screens, just not when the phone is asleep.
I called Samsung but they were useless telling me that I need to press the home button and that it has always been so and that nothing changed with Android Pie but that is BS.
Can other Pie users please verify, that OK Google works on your phone when it is in sleep mode and if anyone else has the same issue as I and if you have a solution.
Thanks,
Roli

Yes. When the screen is locked.
My phone was like that at one point, I am on Pie now and I had to go into the settings and make sure it was set to work even when the screen was off. Took a minute to find, have you checked there?
Settings/Google/Search, Assistant and Voice/Voice/Voice Match
I have. The phone vibrates when the screen is off and I say "OK Google" but is the screen remains black until I press the home button.
I'm thinking now that perhaps it has something to do with security and not with Google Assistant. I'm going to check my security settings. Maybe there's something there.
Come to think of it, I've had that happen before, not now but some time ago. I never sound effects, never really tried, somehow it just seemed to resolve itself after a while I guess. Good luck and keep us posted, you might be right in that it has to do with some security setting or something.
This? Access with voice match?
There is also that one underneath that says 'unlock with voice match', for use if you have a screen lock set up I guess. Did you try that one as well?

I’m sure that’s the option the OP needs to use.
I think it's a common problem with Google assistant and potentially the same as the 'voice unlock paused' issue, I've seen people complaining about both on pixel forums as well as on here (if Google can't get it right with their own phone what hope do we have!!). There were a few steps around deleting the voice model and resetting the smart lock agent (see screenshot). I did this and retrained the voice model in absolute silence which seemed to work for a bit but has since stopped. Annoyingly it doesn't seem to take into account when I'm at home and the phone is unlocked with smart lock!

OK. Here is my screenshot of the settings that I have on my phone. Access and Unlock with Voice Match are turned on.
Let me reiterate. The phone is reacting to "OK Google" on every screen so the voice match is working.
The problem is that when when I am on the lock screen and I say "OK Google" the phone vibrates, acknowledging that it heard the prompt but it does nothing until I press the home button or power button.
Have a look at this video. (I distorted for privacy reasons the audio because my phone and tablet were reacting when I was playing back the video):
https://youtu.be/fO3nsJ215eo
I have the S9+ on Rogers and thankfully, this feature continues to work flawlessly after the upgrade as I use it often in my daily work..It actually seems to be more responsive after the update.
It can be very frustrating when the feature randomly stops working but it is usually due to an update on Google's end that causes it as I can usually fix it by going through the voice setup steps after an update..
In extreme situations you may want to uninstall and then reinstall the Google app..
Had the same problem myself and fixed it, just go to app info for Google and clear the cache and clear data, worked a treat for me

I'm on an S9+ with Bell in Canada and I can still unlock my device with voice when it's sleeping even though it gave me a notice that I would no longer be able to.
For some reason I've lost the ability to voice control any of my smart devices through Google Home. Seems like a related but different problem.
That, the lack of pro video mode and the brutal battery life have really turned Pie into a nightmare for me..
Hope they release fixes for these issues or I'll have to look at flashing..
