I relegated my Note 8 to being my backup device so now I"m using my V30 for my dialy. I just prefer the more wider aspect ratio of the V30's 18:9 display. Samsung needs to stop making such tall displays, by the way.
Anyway, on my N8 I was using the awesome app BixActions to remap not only the Bixby button but the volume buttons as well. Does anyone know of a comparable app I can use for the V30? What I'd like to do is long press volume up and down to skip tracks while the phone is in my pocket.

Anyone noticed that when controlling another player using allshare on your phone that the volume buttons (on screen or rocker) are incredibly incremental. I've sat in front of the computer holding the volume rocker and watch WMP's volume barely slide upward.
Is there a hacked up app- or is it possible to create a hacked up app- that adjusts the volume in larger increments?

Which way do they go into the frame? I am right with the camera and volume buttons, as I noted which way they were, but the on/off button fell out before I could note which way the tab went. Anyone have an idea?
-- Mic Jack - Vol Up/Vol Down ----------- Power --- Camera ---
Holding it with screen facing you rightside up.
Thanks, but you misunderstood me ......... I know WHERE each button goes, as you have described. But which way does each individual button sit in the frame?
As I said, I know the camera and the volume buttons, because they have external features that are assymetrical and I noted which way they went before disassembling the phone.
But if you look at the on/off button in the photo is has a little stepped tab on one side. Does this tab point towards the screen or towards the back of the camera?
Regards, Bernie.

Tabs face towards the screen.
Is there any possibility to do this? it is pretty inconvenient to use the touchscreen to make pictures and it would be nice if the hardware buttons can be used for making pics.
i want this too, i miss real buttons! i wish handsets all had a row of generic configurable buttons like WM devices of yore.

In ics it lets you configure a volume button so once it drops that will change. Can also use camera fx for time being.
My search button is my shutter control.
i'm going to get the nexus 4 when it comes back in stock. this will be my first android device. i just want to know if i have headphones with volume buttons on them, could i take a picture by using the volume key on the headset? i can do this on IOS, and i need this feature for something important.
S23U is my first ever Sammy device, and I am decidedly not in love with placement of the volume buttons. Any idea why it is so far up on the right side of the device, forcing me to slide my hand up every time I need to adjust? This could have been avoided if they had placed them below the power button. What am I missing?
Well, if you don't like using it, just return it and look for a phone meeting your expectations?
Edit: the Asus Zenphone 9 could be what you're looking form in term of size factor.
I mostly like the phone, it is just those god damn buttons. Have pressed the power button 5x in the last 3 hours when intending to adjust the volume. was a genuine question trying to understand what the rationale may have been.
you will get used to it in time - changes are always hard at the beginning
The only solution i can give You is to use samsung one hand operation:
One Hand Operation + – Aplikacje w Google Play
Z łatwością korzystaj z urządzenia jedną ręką!
play.google.com
It is must have app for me as you can do everything with gestures. In example you can short swipe up to volume up and swipe down to volume down. You can adjust long swipe with all other phone settings like one hand mode, home, back button etc. I use it for so long time that i can't even operate the phone without it xD
I agree, but there's surely a objective reason for that, pretty sure engineers thought about it .
I hate the placement too coming from oneplus, but Ill get use to it I guess.
You have to get used to it.
It took me a week to learn that the power button is under the volume control (pixel 7 has the power button above)

That is what I was looking for. Thanks so much. Moved the volume control to the left edge which is where it should have been. Today I discovered that their placement interferes with my X-ram phone holder and my DJI drone controller. Truly mystifying decision by Samsung. Ended up just disabling the volume buttons with Button Mapper.
