I have lgv10 h901 running on nought h90130c can't downgrade to MM with any KDZ,DZ or TOT file ...
want to downgrade bcz fastboot commands are not working anymore..
p.s bootloader unlocked..
i want to flash 4 cores boot image to lenghtens life of phone
No. MM is ARB 1, v30c is ARB 2.
I assume that you want to install TWRP and root your phone? If so, you didn't search very hard for how to do it on Nougat....

Also H901v20j is ARB2 but it cannot flashed..
Well, if you root Nougat, then you can make a flashable zip of v20j, and revert that way.
LG UP has multiple checks to prevent you flashing an older version. One of those checks is ARB and in hardware. There is no way around ARB since the ARB version is in the RSA signature of the signed firmware.
Another check that they put into place is if they make a change to lafd (the daemon that runs to give you download mode). If lafd is updates (as it was from MM to N), then you can't roll back with LG UP.
This check CAN be avoided using TWRP since the ARB version is the same.
So, if you really want to run v20j:
* Search these forums for how to root Nougat. Sorry, I am not providing a link since it is right in the top 5 posts of one of the sub-forums.
* Find a flashable zip of v20j. If a v20j flashable zip doesn't exist, you will need to extract the KDZ and make one. (I will be glad to give you pointers)
* If after giving it a good try, you are unable to make your own, and you provide a link to the KDZ, I will make one for you.

Hi there,
sorry for bothering you with my problem but I really cannot figure out what I am doing wrong. I am running a pure stock version of 4.4.4 on my international version of the moto E, with no root and no unlocked bootloader. I am willing to update to the latest 5.1 build but whitout unlocking the bootloader and stuff.
From what I understand the first step to do so in the easiest way possible would be to download the first 5.0.2 soak (22.21.32 341MB) update and put it into the main SD card. From then the phone should detect the update from the settings, but mine isn't.
I have already tried sideloading the update by going to the recovery and choosing update from adb. Also I have developer options enabled.
Thanks for your help.

Well, 1st of all let me tell you, that you are completely going the wrong way.... You DO NOT need to flash 5.0.2.... From what I know, factory images of XT1021 for official Android 5.1 lollipop are available...
Check this LINK
There are three versions, choose the appropriate one. Download it, and use mfastboot to flash the latest FW (Don't worry, because these are signed images and will work on devices with locked bootloader)
If u think that these are quite complicated, just hit the play store, make sure that Motorola Update Services app is updated.... and wait for the OTA.
If you are 100% sure that you have not unlocked the bootloader, then pm me, I will give the instructions to flash the fw.
Cheers

Hi,
It should be simple, but I'm confused what to do and which version to install... I have EU, not branded H850 v10e. Rooted with TWRP so official update by Bridge or OTA isn't an option. I wanna move to Nougat, but how? I can't find any Nougat zip to use in TWRP, so I figure only option is to use LGUP. But what version should I install? All I can see are branded versions...
Could someone help me and provide a simplest and safest method to move to Nougat?
Also, TWRP and root isn't problematic in N, same procedure as on MM?
Thanks in advance,
Mark

You could try using TWRP to flash autoprime's zips from here https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g5/development/stock-h850-20a-eu-rom-flashable-zips-t3506514 and follow the OP instructions for rooting. You could also use LGUP to flash H85020a_00_OPEN_EU_OP_1030.kdz that autoprime has also posted at the link above. Just make sure you have the Nougat TWPR installed: twrp-3.0.2-1-h850.img, which can be found here https://dl.twrp.me/h850/
Thanks! For some reason I couldn't find this flashable N zip.... But on the weekend I already switch to N with LGUP

Do you make an TWRP version please?[emoji4]
Thanks a lot @raystef66 !
I got an issue with it : I can't install it. From settings update app doesn't find the file (renamed in "update.zip" on internal and external sdcards roots). I also tried from ZTE recovery but it tells me that I can't update my device ...
I have my device boot loader unlocked. Is that could be the reason why I can't update my device? I'm on V1.2.0B08.
Enjoy!
PS : Where did you find this file? it's still not in ZTE servers (but some users already have it throught OTA)?
Is anybody update from B09 to B10 with this update?

I updated from B05 (or B06) to B08 before. Not sure I had my bootloader unlocked then.
"update.up" doesn't solve my issue from settings>updates. Will try later from recovery.

Hello All
I would really appreciate the help on my situation.
I have bought a new motherboard from aliexpress. and it turns out the board is a VS990 with H901 5.1 installed on it.
Its working like a charm now I received the OTA update to android 6 but I am very scared to go ahead with the update as it will most probably brick the phone. Has anyone experienced same situation? Do i go ahead and let it do the OTA update? If not is there anyway I can install Nugget on my (Half / Half) setup ?
I will very much appreciate the help please.
Thanks

My motherboard also had vs990 printed on it but the "t" link is soldered. So my v10 is a h901, which makes sense since I bought mine from my local T-Mobile store right after release.
If you plan on rooting do not take the ota. It is much easier to root on 5.1 (10c), the fastboot commands are still intact. All updates after 5.1 get more difficult to root. Once rooted there is twrp flashable .zip in the development forum to safely bring you to the latest 7.0 update (30c) and is also a full firmware update.

Did you take apart your phone and verify your soldered link?
Do you have twrp 3.2.1 installed?
All the info you need can be found https://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-lg-v10/development
Reading about anything you plan to do will help prevent a brick.

That is great.. I will read them all very carefully and I will try to do it tommorrow.
2 points :
First I have already installed TWRP recovery for LG V10 H901 (File: twrp-2.8.7.1-h901.img & SuperSU v2.56 and now i am rooted.
Second I am sure now even without looking at the Link that my board is a H901 else I think the boot loader would have never been simply unlocked. Dont you agree?

SuperSU is abandoned. TWRP 2.8.7.1 can't flash nougat, you'll need to upgrade to the 3.2.1 I linked but will only have to flash the .zip from TWRP. SuperSU will get removed when you flash the system updates so then you should have no problem installing magisk, just do a factory reset in TWRP after you do the updates before magisk to remove and data from SuperSU that my be left.
Your 2nd point is dead on, the h901 is the only US carrier branded v10 that can be bootloader unlocked. True vs990's were locked down tight in true Verizon fashion.

That's the point of these twrp flashable updates, to update without wipeing . For the Android 6.0 updates use the part 1 (firmware) and part 2 (system, boot) 20L files in this thread.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-lg-v10/development/rom-v10h901v20estock-customized-t3360240
It is still heavily suggested to wipe when changing major Android versions. Minor updates within the same version don't cause too much trouble, but data structure varies between major version updates. All this being said some people don't have problems with dirty (no wipe) flashes.

There are a few threads that discuss recovering from bricked 20J software that you could try. (20L is said to be the only software that can downgrade, but only to 20J) Most people had LG do warranty exchange. This is the frustrating part of LG phones, how easy LG made it to brick if you didn't fully read up on what you were doing.

(20L is said to be the only software that can downgrade, but only to 20J) Most people had LG do warranty exchange. This is the frustrating part of LG phones, how easy LG made it to brick if you didn't fully read up on what you were doing.

The unbricking thread should have some input on that problem, just search for it.

Hi guys,
My v30 H930 (europe) is still on Android Oreo V22j. Now with the upcoming release of the less buggy version of Android Pie (v30q), I probably want to upgrade
I have TWRP installed and I have Magisk root (19.3).
What's the easiest way to upgrade to Pie (keep root ofc) and can I keep my data or do I have to wipe and set up as a new device?
Flash KDZ in LGUP as upgrade and reflash twrp/magisk?

Easiest is to wait for Pie zip and flash it.
It's a good idea to backup internal storage whenever you do a major upgrade.
All other stuff is answered in detail on ChazzMatt's pie kdz thread
Just go to leaked V30q thread and read ? not that difficult

Those links are still to beta version. People may update that way with their phones if they wish -- and thank you for providing that option -- but anyone should understand that's still technically beta.
When it's official, it will be released as full image KDZ and dev created TWRP flashable zips based on that full image KDZ will both be posted in the EU H930 KDZ thread.

Thx, but can I really just flash the Pie zip in TWRP without wiping, over Oreo?

Some people have, yes.
Dev doesn't recommend it. If it doesn't work, then you would need to wipe. See the TWRP flashable zip installation instructions.

I know its beta until officially released; just don't get the prejudice around it. It's way more stable than the official V30b kdz btw.
In OP's scenario it's even easier to use V30q, since he is already rooted. Just restoring the TWRP backup provided and re-rooting would do the job, with no need to wipe data.
