My honest review about the Stock Oreo Update (Open for Debate) - LG G6 Guides, News, & Discussion

Hello my fellow LG G6 users,
after I got my LG G6 I unlocked the bootloader and installed Fulmics ROM without hesitation. I don't really care about my warranty when I on the other hand have the ability to enjoy the newest LG UX, Magisk with Viper4Android and the iOS Emojis, or the better battery life. Using a AOSP ROM really never came to my mind since it's known for it's bugs, bad picture quality, battery life and so on. So I used Fulmics 4.2, Melina Kernel and Magisk.
With the announcement of Oreo I really got excited for it, but after @xpirt (btw thanks for your work, beginning with the G3) announced that he likely won't continue Fulmics ROM on the G6 this excitement was quickly demolished. I really rely on some of the tweaks of the ROM. But since I really wanted to see the improvements of Oreo so I flashed the Firmware a few days ago.
Starting with the Firmware for the H870. First of all it's hard to even get the newest (20B) since this is the version with the camera improvements and rebranding of the G6. But after installing it I quickly realized that there are many issues with the Oreo build and many missing features you may know from Nougat and the Fulmics ROM.
1. Original icons are not working with the Stock Google Apps. There will always be this white frame around most of the icons, which is not as good looking as before
2. When you're using bluetooth headphones you will get a persistent notification that you can switch your media output between the G6 speakers and your bluetooth output. A so called "feature". I really don't know how to get rid of it, since you cannot silence it. LINK
3. Battery life is the worse I've ever seen, even worse than AOSP Roms. I'm not even a heavy user but I only get around 3hrs Screen On time which is unacceptable for a last year 2017 flagship.
4. Always on Icons like the battery percentage and the battery symbol itself are not removable and they will always be there LINK
5. Neat features like customization of the QS tiles and volume up/down for skipping tracks on your music app are gone
6. Bluetooth connectivity is in general worse, headphones are randomly disconnecting. LINK
7. SD Card issues with the unofficial 20B build on the westwood24 Firmware 20A thread. SD Cards over 32GB seem to be corrupted for the system
8. Some notifications are not getting displayed like the notification badge on the app icons
These are only some of things that really bother me on pure Stock Oreo. Even with Magisk and Substratum installed which are able to do some of the things, Fulmics Tweaks is easily capable of, with many difficulties.
This thread should not blame LG (Maybe a bit with there so called "features") but may warn some of the users on a very customized and good Fulmics Version when they think about switching to the stock Oreo Firmware, since I personally going to switch back to Fulmics.
Feel free to comment possible solutions for the problems (s.o.) or your own experience with Stock Oreo.

I experience none of the problems with stock oreo.
Its way better than fulmics.

Just edited some links into the thread supporting my points. Which problems exactly don't you have with stock Oreo ?

I don't want miss the new 1password function. This is new in Oreo. Security and so on are better with Oreo. No, I don't want go back to fulmics. Fulmics are very nice, but I need the Oreo features.

Yeah that was one of the features I really liked in Oreo

I have workarounds for some of these problems. I am on unrooted, stock oreo.
1. Custom launcher with an icon pack. Easy solution.
2. You COULD try disabling the bluetooth app with LG Package disabler, which silences the notification. However, things start to break. I figure, since you're rooted, you could do something with Tasker. Just an idea.
3. Debloat. Or, use LG Package disabler. My battery is nowhere near as bad - an average of 4-5hrs SoT, and this seems to work just fine.
4. It's not really a remedy or anything, but I use the app "Glimpse Notifications" instead of AoD, which turns on the screen briefly and shows the notification. It uses very little battery.
5. Never found those useful, and I don't use the stock music app. Aren't QS tiles still customizable?
6. I just don't use bluetooth headphones. We still have a headphone jack, don't you remember?
7. Never encountered this issue because I have a 16gb sd card.
8. Works on Nova just fine. Maybe check the stock launcher's notification permissions.
As much as I dislike this phone, I've just gotta make do with what I have until my contract is up.

Same here. Honestly, I'm not have these issues either.
The only thing that bothers me after the update is the slight but noticeable performance hit, mainly the lag when starting apps that aren't already running in the background.
But I haven't done a factory reset (out of laziness) which might take care of the problem.

I get 5 hrs SOT with 20b. Don't know why one would get three, but the Rom or Oreo are not the reason apparently.
I like the stock ROM, even though I've been using custom on several phones before this one, since it has VOLTE and T-mobile wifi calling. Don't see any lag I have not been able to get rid of.
I agree it's a bummer that the devs have mostly walked out on the G6.

I've Rooted my HTC One - Now what?

I've successfully unlocked my bootloader, flashed recovery and rooted my One using Superuser. It was pretty difficult and confusing to be honest. I got Titanium Back-up and froze all those stupid bloatware apps.
Now what can I do? I see there are two pretty good roms over here in the forums, but I'm not sure if I should grab one of those or wait for other better ones? Is there a "best" rom? Anything else I can do while waiting?

My advice? Take some time and just enjoy the phone. Its too soon for there to be
much going on in terms of ROMs and MODs. But they will come...
I generally get rid of the stock ROM on a new phone as soon as possible...but I have been
impressed with Sense 5 so far...gonna rock it for a while I think.
Check out the TrickDroid rom in the international HTC One forum. I've got that on my AT&T One, and it's amazing.

Appreciate the reply. I saw that one. I was having a hard time telling what exactly it does that is better than the stock rom? Anything you can tell me about it/ what you use it for?
Thanks.

One app I consider a must have for rooted devices is adblock plus. Get it and enjoy a faster, cleaner, and less data intensive internet experience. Just be aware that it's no longer part of the play store, and you'll have to sideload it.

I've rooted devices before, but never installed a custom rom. Might be fun to give it a try.
However, just to make sure I won't do anything wrong...I replaced my recovery with TWRP when I first rooted.
I'm thinking I add the .zip rom to my root directory, make a backup with TWRP, backup my apps with titanium backup, then just flash the rom and restore my apps? Is it that simple?
Also, should I wipe the dalvik in addition to the regular data?

Actually the list of improvements and added features in TrickDroid (and several other 1.29 based International ROMs) compared to the stock ROM is quite large, which very easily justifies the reason for bootloader unlocking/rooting your phone. Some of these improvements/mods are available over here in the AT&T dev section, and some are only available in International based ROMs (for now anyway)
Newer firmware than the AT&T base (1.29 compared to 1.26)
Supposedly the camera software in 1.29 is considerably better with things like improved processing for pictures; I haven't verified this for myself
That stupid permanent power saving toggle in the notification pulldown menu has been removed (replaced by a much nicer and smaller status bar toggle button)
The only-useful-maybe-one-time-but-is-always-there IME icon that pops up in the task bar (when the keyboard is being used) has been removed
For people that use Sense as their launcher, there are options to change the icon grid in the drawer to 4x5 / 5x6 instead of the screen wasting 3x4 default
There are very nice looking scrollable color toggle buttons in the pulldown menu for the normal things like wifi, bluetooth, GPS, flashlight, switching between silent mode & normal mode, etc. The toggles can be long-pressed to go directly into the options related to the function of that toggle
The stock messaging app has more options (custom background, colors for the conversation bubbles)
HTC has lowered the overall "boomsound" volume in 1.29 a bit, presumably to correct the popping sounds that people have experienced on earlier firmware builds including the AT&T 1.26 build. In my opinion, even with this lower volume, the phone is plenty loud and the speakers are still louder than my Galaxy S3. There are still ways to increase your volume back up again if you really need it (for example, the faux123 kernel has "faux sound" that can pump up the volume, among other audio tweaks)
There is a brightness mod available to lower the really high default automatic brightness settings a bit, to increase battery life
There is a mod available to temporarily turn on the display when an SMS message is received if the phone's display is off
There is a mod available to wake up the phone with the volume buttons (in addition to the power button of course)
There is a no-pin Exchange mod available for the stock email client that overrides the need for a pin # when connected to a corporate Exchange email system that requires phone security
There is a stock-based kernel available as a choice during the installation that maps the HTC logo as a menu key. Actually I think it really just maps a touch point on the display immediately above the HTC logo, but it is very close to the logo and actually works.
There is a mod available to remove the stupid 3-dot button in apps that still use a menu key. Obviously you would only want to use this mod when you've got something mapped as a menu button (either the back key long-press option or the HTC logo mapping mentioned previously)

Thanks for you post. My HTC One is on its way, and this is the ROM I plan to flash. Can you please elaborate on this last part?
Are you saying that there is a place on the settings menu to select a custom mapping for the menu button? and THEN you flash the mod? Doesn't that sound backwards? Wouldn't one flash the mod which would give you the option of a custom menu button mapping somewhere in the settings menu?
just be patience
it's take times to build a better rom for new device.maybe 3-4month.we can get perfect rom

I heard there's a mod to use the logo as a button. I would turn that into a MENU button.

Really? I thought for sure the AT&T One I had was 1.29. I have the DE now, and its 1.29.1540.3 I guess that would be another reason if you are paying full price to go with the DE.

System UI Tuner Can't Enable

I'm trying to enable the System UI Tuner option by holding down the settings icon on the notifications bar, but it doesn't work. I've got developer options on, have ensured all three animation scales are at 1X and tried both charging and uncharging. A search in the V30 forum shows only five instances for "System UI Tuner" Is anyone actually using this with the V30? How did you get it working?
I'm hesitant to do the Frankenphone option and root because my bank app is blocked for rooted devices and apparently even the hide root options don't fix that.

Really? You're saying Magisk Hide doesn't work for you banking app? I find that hard to believe when it fools all other apps pretty well. Everyone here is using latest Magisk.

I'm going off what others have said on the USAA forums, that somehow it still detects root and blocks. Some people have said Magisk works, others have said it doesn't. I'm not sure I want to risk it as I do all my banking through the app.

Are you using the stock ROM or a custom ROM? I don't know if LG included a system UI tuner in their OS. I've never seen it anyway. And I don't know about your specific bank but the only thing I have seen people say isn't working on custom ROMs is Android Pay. I'm running the stock LG OS and have root using magisk and I'm not having any issues with Android Pay or any other apps.

Stock ROM. I haven't touched the bootloader/rooting/custom roms yet. The most custom thing I've done so far is switch to Nova launcher.
The USAA app appears to be doing weird things with root detection. Some people that were rooted and unrooted their device still can't access it, even after a data wipe. I'm taking the posts with a grain of salt, as other people seem to have success with Magik. It does apparently flag if Google Pay is tripped for root, so that might be an issue with custom roms.
These days, I really don't need root anymore with Stratum and other theming options. I would like to try System UI Tuner and see what it does just because it's a baked-in function (maybe not LG?) before going the root route.

In my experience, the status bar isn't very customizable on the stock ROM. even with the system UI Tuner app in the play store, some things can't be changed. Most likely due to LGs framework being different from stock. What is it exactly you would like to change with a System UI Tuner?

I don't think the playstore app is the same one built into android. I could be wrong though. I don't have any specifics I'm looking to do. I tend to be minimalist in my GUI and mostly wanted to play with it and see what I could do.

It does a lot of what the built in System UI tuner does. The problem though, like I said, is that LG has their own framework and doesn't have a built in System UI tuner of their own as far as I know. The most customizing I have done is with Substratum themes. But even those are limited (again, because of LGs framework). I'm just saying, root won't get you many more options than what you already have. Unless you use a custom ROM.

I see. This is my first LG, coming from the Galaxy Note line of phones. If I go custom ROM, then my reasoning would be more for battery life and efficiency than any GUI functions.

I disagree.
I'm rooted stock firmware and I have Nova launcher, icon packs, my own wallpaper.
PLUS, I've also installed this Magisk mod:
Anxious Kernel Script (kernel tweaks),
Dual Speaker Mod for US998,
ESS DAC for Low Impedance Headphones/AUX (should work on other models, idk),
Google Dialer,
Google Sans,
LG G7 ThinQ Camera Features,
sqlite3;
US GPS Config,
YouTube Vanced (no ads, better options -- like download, resolution)
as well as enabled call recording: (clarification, this "mod" itself is not a TWRP-flashable Magisk module, but does require root permissions.)
There's tons of other Magisk modules I've not even looked at. Magisk is becoming the "xposed" of a few years ago where you can have "pick-and-choose" custom ROM options WITHOUT installing a custom ROM.
AND I have TWRP custom recovery to make image backups (like having a magic time machine) or to flash other Magisk modules.
I have Titanium Backup which lets me back up and restore apps + data. I just had an app update and took away a feature I liked. BOOM. Restore recent version through Titanium Backup, lock out future updates until they come to their senses.
With root (even on stock firmware) you have so many options to improve your phone or have TOTAL CONTROL over your phone.

Oh, I agree, root opens up a lot. But as far as System UI tuning like he mentioned, you're kind of stuck with what LG gave us. As far as those Magisk Modules, I may try some out. I've only installed the Grennify module. I can never tell if something will work with the H932 or if it will break something so I haven't dived too much into modules yet

looks good, will post my feedback after using it for a while.
Could you please try out the calls? I couldn't make them work in every aosp based rom (Android 9 / 10) I tried. I wasted a lot of time on that. On miui everything is fine.
I been using it from last 24+ plus hours.. I haven't been impressed so much in recent time with any custom rom. i been on miroom 10.2.1.0 since long, due to stability concern, and this rom beat it. Its really amazing rom.
Its a fast rom, didnt notice any lag, i didnt notice any heat up, call works, internet banking works (need to add in magisk hide), tons of customization, less bloats and VOLTE WORKS..
notification works great, which was always an issue with miui, delayed notification.
lastly about battery.. IT is good, better than miui for me, i was worried about overnight battery drain or doze mode problems, but that is working fine here, hardly 3 to 5% drain overnight.
only bug i found so far,
I use single sim, and second sim i only use in emergency, i disable second sim, i couldnt turn it off for some reason, but its not a big deal, i just removed that sim
Its too early for me to say, but This is by far. the best custom rom for mi5, i ever used.

I been using this rom for like more than a month now. I have also travelled a lot while on being on this rom. overall its good.
gps is kind of buggy sometimes not as smooth as miui, if travelling often, it might annoy you.
volte i am not sure, its my network issue or rom, when i try to send sms, it just resend them like 5 times lol. i turned volte off, so now its working fine.

change settings menu of 7.1+

going from the "spread" out optins of v7 (v20) to the clown colors of the compressed (menu in menu) v7.1 and onwards, that clown show color theme is horrific.
any way to change it back to the way 7.0 settings menu looked?
its like having the app on the screen instead of finding it amongst other apps in a folder. I hate folders
I also dont like the color theme. is there a monotone theme?
any way to change badges for certain apps on the v30? clock , notes and camera badges are horrible. I prefer very simplistic and clean designs.
I have to say I just don't understand your question. Are you asking about V20, as opposed to V30? And if so about Nougat 7.1, wanting to make it look like Nougat 7.0?
If so, have you considered posting in the V20 forum?
Afraid I don't remember Nougat anymore. Most V30 users are on Pie, while some have chosen to stay on (or roll back to) Oreo. Myself included. But Nougat, that's 3 years ago.
apologies. let me explain again. I have a v20 and v30
the v20 is on v7.0
I love the layout of the settings menu. I like that they have a setting for each thing separately (mostly), unlike the v30 7.1 which has many settings together and you have to go a few menus deep to change things. basically clicking more to get to the setting.
as well, the v20 has a monotone design which is clean. the v30 has a multi colored theme and each settings has different colors. it looks cartoonish and not aesthetic.
so on these 2 fronts it doesnt look good imo.
you can change icon/badges with a theme pack, but what about changing the way the menu looks?
is there a v7 rom for a v30 ? id be happy to use any version as long as I didnt have that multi colored look and clicking so much just to get to a setting.
reminds me of windows 10. everything is swept under a rug and in the settins you cant even find anything because you have to click so much just to find it.
heres an image showing side by side what I had on the right and the new settings menu looks horrible. grouping settings together is like sweeping things under a rug or the "Matryoshka doll" effect
https://imgur.com/a/ObTu6uW
I see, I understand now what you're saying, including that you were comparing V20 v7.0 to V30 v7.1.
Afraid I have no suggestions though. Hopefully somebody does. Personally I never thought of that as an issue.
Are you intent on staying on Nougat? There are many more ROMs and Mods if you're willing to go to Oreo or Pie. And I'm not aware of anything on V30 that worked better on Nougat than Oreo, at least not anything significant.

Instead of trying to go further back into the past (even earlier Nougat), you should update to at least last stock Oreo (8.0) firmware. So many new features and fixes were given during that era over flawed Nougat. Camera features, etc. You couldn't pay me money to go back to Nougat.. The only reason people use Nougat is temporarily when Frankenstein flashing (converting) to another North American variant. Then quickly ditching that for last Oreo or Pie.
I'm not a big fan of the V30 stock Pie (9.0) firmware myself, but others like it. But everyone agrees that last Oreo was stable, feature filled magic. If you are rooted, on last Oreo you even get DTS 3D Surround Stereo feature (in the firmware but hidden, has to be activated with root).

that green nasty dialer color is absolutely disgusting. when you call someone and the screen turns green. its horrible. it ruins my eyes. I cant stand it. it drives me absolutely crazy, instead of white, now I have this hideous annoying green. I thought android was about use customizing and here it is working completely against me
I dont want oreo or anything besides 7.0
I had issues since updating
ill take the primitive old design then anything from 7.1. its a crap gui. absokutely stupid and way way more intrusive. everything is hidden menu under menu.
im actually considering getting a dumb phone just for calls and text and a simple garbage phone for anything else. ive stopped surfing on a phone as i cant block ads and cant find a proper browser that blocks ads AND stays on desktop agent mode as default for all sites. its crap. screw opera. no more. adblock browser is crap brave is crap. they either do one or the other
but agaun, that ugly asz android 7.1 and up has a horrible gui. and who the hellk thought to turn a screen fully green to make calls is good?

Reviewing all Galaxy J5 2015 Custom ROMs. (Will update when i'll test more.)

This is all based on personal opinions and experiences. I mean no offense to any of the developers. None of this should be taken as an insult, because it's not intended to be.
Android 5.x:
- Stock: I'll always like the simplicity in design of the older Touchwiz versions. It was nice, but it got pretty laggy after a while.
- Light Xperion:
- ColorOS: Link's broken.
- MIUI 8: Link's broken.
- MIUI 9: Link's broken.
- ADS Sony: Link's broken.
Android 6.0:
- Stock: Starts lagging so bad after around two years of use. Literally no apps installed other than the necessary ones. No games, nothing. Internal storage kept always empty. Became so laggy that the status bar took literally almost one whole second to pull down. Not really that good of an experience. The system took way too much space and didn't have that many features. Sure the theme engine was nice, but that's about it. There isn't really any point into reviewing this, but i thought it might be kinda interesting, if anyone else experienced the same issues as me.
- MIUI 8: About what you'd expect. It's MIUI. Feature packed, as usual. Sometimes laggy, as usual on a low end phone.
- MIUI 10: Graphics pack over MIUI 8. Looks nice.
- Slim6:
- ADS Asus: Link's broken, sadly. I really wanted to see how it was with all the apps i suggested adding. Should have been pretty much a full Asus experience, except the SystemUI.
- SuperROM:
Android 7.x:
- HalogenOS: Doesn't install, "E3003: Can't install this package over newer build.", which makes no sense because the phone was fully wiped. Tried many times, going from different ROMs back to this. Never worked. It looks pretty nice in the screenshots, even has some custom apps. Quite unfortunate that it doesn't install.
- Odyssey Note8: I personally don't like 3MinitBattery, never liked it. Other than that it lags quite a lot. But it's kinda expected since it's supposed to be a ROM ported from a phone with much more horsepower under the hood.
- SEP Lite: Doesn't recognize the J500F as "J500xx". Refuses to install
- SEP: I just don't get why the Lite version doesn't install. This one installed just fine. Anyway, it's just stock Touchwiz, nothing much to say about it. It runs just fine, nothing more, nothing less. I like the little touches like the Aroma installer and the amount of options are offered.
- WyckedOS: Doesn't flash. "No digest file found".
- SpaceOS: Doesn't flash. "No digest file found".
- Mokee: Doesn't boot. Artefacts. Booting forever.
- AOSP CAF: Doesn't flash. "Can't install this package over newer build".
- CosmicOS: Doesn't flash. "Can't install this package over newer build".
- Serenity: Touchiwz, just Touchwiz. Just like SEP, it's just Touchwiz. The same, but slightly different features. Like SEP, it's as fast as Touchwiz can get, which is not very fast, but it's usable.
- XOS: Doesn't flash. "No digest file found".
- XOSP: Crashes on boot. Massive graphics artefacts. Custom kernels result in bootlooping.
- Ground Zero Validus: Very slow boot compared to the rest, takes way too much time. Glance doesn't work, just shows the lockscreen directly. Doesn't even have an internet browser app installed. The home screen is a random mess. It's not really that polished. But i like that you can make the statusbar transparent with a blurred background. I get what they were doing with the grid style recents, but a more HTC-like approach would have been a lot better, since the grid style only allows 8 apps at a time to be shown, plus they change size depending on how many there are and you can't swipe them to close them, you must hit the tiny "X" button.
- Ground Zero Tesla: Boots the same as slow, but this time it's pre-rooted instead of just having Magisk there to root it yourself. Normally i would complain about it being the same, or about the fact that it's lacking Substratum unlike the other one, but i'm actually very ok with it because i like the features it has. Their custom Kernel Adiutor version supports voltage and sound control, which is a really nice feature. It even has a custom theme, which, yeah, it might hurt some eyes, but it's there at least. It's above average. I wouldn't say good, but it's not bad either and has some unique features. The presentation is messy.
- Hexagon: "No digest file found", but it's installing, maybe if i were to replace the installer script from the other ROMs with this one... Hmmm... Maybe some other time. After finishing installing, it crashed on boot just like XOSP. Graphics artefacts, display slowly fading to yellow for some reason. Doesn't reboot with other kernels, but stays on the boot screen indefinitely.
- DarkNess reDefined: Doesn't flash. "Can't install this package over newer build".
Android 8.x:
- LineageOS: First impression was great, as usual with all LineageOS ROMs. It's pretty much the base for all ROMs. it's good if you like clean and simple UIs.
- AOKP: Besides not having an "OOBE", the customization app has a rather outdated design. Also, the app installer crashes every time i tried to install anything. On the flip side, the customization app offers a wide range of options, nothing to complain about that. Can install apps with 1 Click Installer which uses root, or (i haven't tested) with Lucky Patcher.
- Toxyc: The customization was very complex, but it didn't even have an internet browser pre-installed and the messaging app kept crashing over and over again. Unusable, because it doesn't have basic functionalities like text messaging. Another unfortunate one, because the performance was also good.
- ViperOS: I don't have anything to say about it. Good customization app. Nothing more, nothing less. Good performance, almost wanted to stay on this ROM.
- dotOS: Didn't boot at first surprisingly. Got locked up at the Samsung logo. But the issue was the kernel. After i flashed Jet Cooled Kernel it booted right up. After boot, i was met with a really nice UI, a very mature and modern looking customization app and overall no bugs whatsoever. In conclusion, broken kernel, but good performance and stability with any other kernel.
- Ressurection Remix: As expected, it has every possible customization option there could possibly be. You can even customize the customization app. It's just mindblowing.
- Tipsy: Not only the home button doesn't wake the screen, it also has barely any customization and the home screen you're greeted with is quite messy. The theme engine only themes the settings app and the pre-installed Kernel Adiutor, not even the statusbar/QS. You can't even reprogram the keys from the customization app, like you can do on all the other ROMs, to some degree. Too bad the Tipsy theme was kinda cool, black with glowing yellow accents. Even has doze settings, something that the other ROMs don't have. Could have been a lot better, the 3rd unfortunate one.
- crDroid: Link's broken.
- Ground Zero Validus: Link's broken.
- LineageOS GO: Link's broken.
Common 8.x issues: Searching for locations in the weather provider app doesn't work.
Android 9.x:
- eOS: What a gorgeous ROM. Probably my favourie so far. Doesn't have lots of customization, compared to the other ROMs, but the whole UI is already custom. Good performance, very stable.
- LineageOS: About what you would expect from LineageOS. A perfect base ROM. Everything works. Doesn't really do much, but it's perfectly fine. Customizable buttons and LiveDisplay are the main extra features over basic AOSP, which are more than welcome.
- LineageOS GO: Link's broken.
- AOSPExtended: This was, like, GOOD good. I think this might have broken through RessurectionRemix's level of customization. The UI is smooth and responsive, probably the best i've seen so far. The pre-installed themes are really nice. The camera, omg... This phone can actually take good photos, it's incredible. It actually acts like a 16MP camera, the photos taken in daylight are so detailed. The amount of options in that camera app is outstanding, and you can even turn off denoise completely. The only bug i encountered was after flashing Magisk, the wallpaper broke completely. It defaulted to the original AEX one, couldn't change it in any way. After saving a wallpaper and going to /data/system/users/0, the actual wallpaper was the one i set, but the one showed was the default one. Something broke hard, i have no idea how or what. You have to change the wallpaper manually from where the current wallpaper is actually stored, but that means no Live Wallpapers. Installing an app also breaks the ROM, because the install screen replaces the home screen, and uninstalling an app causes the same effect. Needs a restart after installing any app. (Not affected by Google Play install/uninstall, only when manually installing .apk files.). I personally can get over all these bugs, because the battery life is amazing, the performance is probably the best out of all ROMs and it has the customization features i want. I kept this ROM as my main one.
- EvolutionX: Link's broken.
- Kraken Project: Link's broken.
- Ressurection Remix: Link's broken.
- Carbon: Doesn't flash. "No digest file found".
- Pixel Experience: Pixel ROM, nothing exciting. Doesn't have customization, doesn't have anything. It's about what you'd expect, it's just stock Pixel UI. One thing i have to complain is that the camera performance is extremely bad and i find it very wery weird that out of all the ROMs, this one doesn't have GCam.
- Bootleggers Shishufied: Doesn't have bugs. Runs fine. Has good customization. It doesn't really stand out in any way.
Android 10.x:
- AncientOS: First of all, wow, how animated everything is. I don't know if i should say it's obnoxious or cute, but i guess it's a bit of both. Nonetheless, i don't mind the animations. I like that it features an AOD, great UI customization and a variety of non-AOSP system apps. Two of the surprising features are Dirac Audio and double tap to sleep/wake. It's actually good. Besides a slight problem with the animation when going out of the AOD mode, i don't see any issues. Overall a fun ROM suitable for daily use.
- crDroid:
- Xtended XQ: I don't like being so negative about stuff, but there are too many problems not to talk about them. First of all, there is no Settings shortcut on QS panel, which i find really weird. If you change anything in the QS, the edit button just shoots offscreen, being unable to change the QS icons without "catching" the editor button while the QS are closing, or changing the DPI to some very high amount. The AOD settings crash the settings app and you're unable to change the AOD style, position, color, font, or anything else. The AOD text function is broken, but at least the image one works, yay... You'd better get used to screen burns, because the AOD is actualy, as literal as it can get, always on, no way to change it, enable a wave function or just turn it off completely. The transparent theme is buggy at best, The colors of the QS, even if you change them to accent color, they are still changing when you extend the QS panel. Yeah, that's about it. It's not that great. At least in terms of performance it was one of the quickest to boot and app opening times were very short.
- Corvus: Imo, the quotes app is really cringe. More or less the same as AncientOS, minus the animations and the fun UI. And mostly stock apps too. Mixed feelings about this one. Average at best.
- Bootleggers Unshishufied: It's nice. Runs well. Doesn't have that much of a custom UI, but i like that it includes non-stock apps, a custom theme from "out of the box" and many customization features. I don't like that LiveDisplay doesn't work. But, yeah, it's fine. I just don't get why the other version doesn't work. Oh, and it doesn't have a camera app.
- Bootleggers Shishufied: Doesn't flash. "No digest file found".
- Bliss: By far the best Andorid 10 custom ROM i've tried so far. it has all the customization features i want and even more. The performance is very good, you don't even notice it's an 8 year old phone. Besides a few weird bugs, like not being able to change the wallpaper (also an issue on AOSP Extended) and not being able to disable the AOD, it's overall very stable and functional. I also like that the UI has that extra something, that little bonus touch to stand out from the rest.
- ArrowOS: Link's broken.
- HavocOS: Link's broken.
- RevengeOS: Link's broken.
Android 11.x:
- LineageOS: Tried an earlier build, everything was broken (internal storage not recognized, not saving photos or screenshots, SIM didn't work, SystemUI crashes and other things. That day i wrote "Imagine that everything is broken, but then you dropped your phone on the floor and accidentally set it on fire afterwards. That's how this build of LineageOS feels.", which i think it's absolutely hilarious. But, yeah, now it's fine. Everybody says the bugs have been fixed and it's good for daily use. I may or may not test it again at some point.
Android 12.x:
- LineageOS:
Android 13.x:
- LineageOS: I mean... It works just fine. It doesn't help that the UI looks really bad on Andorid 13. That new quick toggle bar is just useless. So few toggles in view. Just doesn't make sense. As for bugs, only the Gcam Go app doesn't adjust exposure. But that's just an app, it doesn't really count as a bug. Surprised to see that it comes with Dolby. I wanted to enable stereo speakers, but i simply couldn't figure out the mixer_paths.xml. And the ultra dim display toggle is an S-Tier feature, especially because it doesn't seem to apply a filter, but actually tune the brightness. Double tap to wake/sleep is also a feature i wouldn't have expected to see.
Common issues on ALL ROMs: The "INSTALL_FAILED_NO_MATCHING_ABIS: Failed to extract native libraries, res=-113" issue occured on all ROMs. Can't install any 64-bit apps.
If anyone has a link or backup of the ROMs i couldn't download because the links were broken, please help me by providing a link. Thank you in advance.

Oh, sorry for not replying. XDA didn't send me a notification for this. But thanks for the reupload. When i'll have all the ROMs, i'll upload a giga archive of all of them. Just didn't have time lately to test more of them.

By any chance, do you have any of the ADS Roms? ADS Asus, ADS Sony, etc?
