LG V35 AT&T Odd Box - LG V30 Questions & Answers

Hi,
I apologize if there is the wrong section to post in. It still appears there is still no forum for the LG V35.
Does anyone know why this is AT&T LG V35 would be wrapped in this box instead of the regular black phone box? I'm concerned I bought a refurb when it advertised as brand new. The guy who sold it to me said he won it in a "contest." Maybe some AT&T reps might know?

Anytime LG releases a new phone they have promotional giveaways. There was a whole bunch of US998 LG V30 sold on eBay that people said they won.
Back in 2015 I won an AT&T LG G4 in a contest, and sold it on eBay.

Thanks, that's really helpful to know. How would I activate the 2nd year of warranty? AT&T rep said the warranty was N/A and there is no purchase date of the device.

You probably do not even have the normal 1 year warranty, since you didn't buy it new from authorized retailer or carrier.
But you got a great price. Otherwise you would have bought it new from AT&T, right?
A few months ago, I bought a new in box US998 from a friend who bought two from B& B&H Photo, like I did -- due to the $400 rebate if you bought two. I needed two (for me and wife), but she didn't. Her husband wanted to keep his old phone. So, she sold her 2nd one to me (at rebate price) because I wanted a spare. Of course it didn't qualify for the 2 year warranty like the my other two had. Because I didn't buy that 3rd one from B&H Photo, she did. Even if she had registered it for warranty before selling it to me, it would be her warranty, not mine.

I won my current V30 in a Droid Life contest... I was able to activate the 2nd year warranty by emailing LG. I had to be persistent with it, but they did activate it for me. I realize that is not the same scenario as you, but it may be worth the effort to reach out to the LG warranty team and present your case for the 2nd year.
