It seems all the carriers actually have these phones on hand this time... Evidenced by T-mobile doing an unboxing video the second the samsung unpacked event was held. My guess is we may actually see these devices that early. Would be nice!

You can buy directly from Samsung at one of their stores (there are only 4 or 5 in the whole country, though) or online from http://www.samsung.com/ca/consumer/mobile-devices/smartphones/galaxy-note/galaxy-note7/shop/
In the past, I have always just purchased directly from a carrier and then used cellunlocker.net or something like that to unlock it for $15-20. Works like a charm.
Will that work for a US phone?

After best buy screwing up the last half dozen pre-orders ive done I swore no matter how much cheaper it was not to get it from them this time

No, it doesn't void warranties (it's just like when you finish your contract and your carrier provides you the unlock code). And yes, I have done it recently. That's how I got my S7 edge - bought it from Rogers on a new line, then promptly cancelled my contract.

It is just frustrating having to wait a month from release to sales. I want to get the phone with my carrier and they won't even do pre-orders.

You can do this anytime. Most wireless providers will also give you the unlock code for a price during your contract period (at least here in Canada).

Amazon is showing backorders also. I got mine from Sprint.. but they have yet to call me to make an appointment to pick it up :/

Sent an email bombarding them with questions; will post response.
It just means they are waiting till the 24th to start shipping. Since the phone does not come out till then. They have no inventory of it to ship.
I just called sprint and they stated that there are plenty of 3VO's at telesales. It may cost you more but you will get it at least.

That's my understanding as well.
I ordered online with Radio Shack, and I have the same screen. I called them up, and they said they are not yet authorized to ship.
I'm in black, rep in red.
I didn't waste any time, i order mine yesterday morning (6/21) from Sprint for $199 and it arrived today.

I'm gonna guess 179.99 and 50 cashback if using BofA add it up. I did the same thing and I had my order since the 6th. I'm sitting here checking my email at least ten times a day waiting for this thing to be shipped already. This can drive a sane man nuts I tell ya!!

Amazon does show it back ordered on the Add To Cart screen, but when you're ready to pay for it the delivery date is June 28th. That's right on spot with their free 2-day shipping.

Most likely bank of america add it up cash back ($50). $180-$50 = 130.
You get $50 in 6-8 weeks if you order it through the add it up website. Wasn't worth the hassle and you can't switch the phone to a different line on your account for the 1st six months or you get charged like $350.

I'd double check what is covered with that
if its a discounted code or if its just the code for ESRP (which doesn't make sense the way its worded there)
could be an old code, a new code, something you had on there for a while maybe, or something they put on cause they get paid on it and scammed you.
What I can tell you, is that to my knowledge (there is a $4 warranty plan) but It doesn't cover everything that T.E.P. does ...but that **** does say T.E.P. right there so I'm stumped, call and check..simple answer.
Code is TEP4, you are good to go... I have it on all my phones.
You can one or the other for 4 each. Or both for a dollar off...
Interesting. I guess I'll just leave it and hope it works.

im connected to sprint chat checking to see if i can use the TEP4 thing....those responses about it on here seem a little detail lacking
the rep has never heard of it before, but is looking into it
will edit when i figure it out one way or the other
edit: yeah they have never heard of that...said there are no promotions

Quick search reveals that tep4 is an SOC code used by Sprint reps to give customers a TEP discount. It may have originated shortly after TEP increased from $4 to $5(1/2005 according to my bills) as a way to appease people who complained about the increase. Historically, increases were $5-$6 in 1/2006 and $6-$7 in 2/2007. Fyi, word is TEP is to increase from $7 to $8 July 24th.
Evidently, the code is still active, but finding a rep who will apply it is the big challenge. I might try it myself.
I wish Sprint would go with someone other than Asurion...I've had bad experiences with them.

They never have phones in stock...I had to wait a week to get a replacement Evo, only for it to have issues. Then I had to wait ANOTHER week to get a new one.

I have never had issues with Asurion. They have been nothing but a pleasure to do business with besides, not having the Evo's in stock is not necessarily their fault. The same would happen with any insurance company Sprint went with. The demand for the Evo was even larger than Sprint and HTC had imagined so every one was out of stock on them and they were on back order everywhere.

Called twice they said no.
I'm not even sure how it got added in the first place.
$4 TEP is insurance only though. Which means only stuff you pay $100 deductible on, so you don't get the warranty and in store repairs of the $7 TEP. So if that is important to you keep the $7 TEP.
EDIT: I may have been wrong. I know TEP used to incorporate two services the insurance and the in store repairs, but since this is being called TEP in the system it may be the same thing as the $7 one but at a discount. just a word of warning because at one point in time you were able to buy the in store service and insurance separately with Sprint.
Actually no to all being a sprint rep you have a choice of service and repair for 4$, equipment replacement for 4$ od both for 7 soon to be 8$

There was a shortage of evo's at the time. Even service centers suffered/suffering with a 3 to 5 day wait on exchanges. i can tell you first hand of the many claims I've filed for customers, its always a smooth transaction.

I just wanted to report that I was able to successfully get my AT&T Galaxy Note carrier unlocked using the service from Cell Unlocker. It costs $24.99, but for those of you who travel outside of the US and don't want to be forced into using your Note on WiFi only or paying AT&T's outrageous fees, this is certainly a route you may interested in. Additionally, the resale of your device is typically higher if it is unlocked!
I am not sure about the rules for linking to their site, and I am not affiliated in any way, just thought I would share this tip. If you want to find their site, just google "Cell Unlocker" and the first hit should be the one!

Gotta be unlocked it run it on another Carrier with there sim card.....
This is a carrier unlock, not unlocking the boot loader.
Root - root access to your device
Boot loader unlock - ability to flash custom kernels/ROMS
Carrier unlock - ability to use any SIM on your device - by default, you can only use AT&T SIM cards since the device has been 'locked' to their carrier

I popped in my "Three" UK sim and it roamed just fine on T-Mobile and made a phone call. I used a T-Mobile sim in my video though

I just got sucked into that same statement. I requested a refund of my 5 euros- or $6.61
Not such a great deal if they will keep it and not deliver. I recommend to Stay away from this till things are cleared up.
Yep, I got ripped off too... www.Cellunlocker.net worked fine on my Skyrocket. I guess you get what you pay for.

Did you guys try just calling AT&T to ask for the unlock code? They might be hesitant because the Note's so new, but they'll usually just give it to you if you insist you're traveling overseas a lot in the coming months.

Called and get " You need to own the device at least 6 months. That's the policy." No help at all.
Called, they said "the device is exclusive to ATT so we can't give it to you" plus the 6 month thing would deter from it.

about a month ago i upgraded to a s4 out of pure necessity (my nexus died on me)
so i went to best buy, bought my phone and didn't think anything of it.
then a couple weeks later the One got announced and i had been waiting for it for months so i decided i was going to sell my s4 on swappa and use that money to get my one...i just got an email today from the guy complying about a sticker on the inside of the plastic back that according to him, best buy only puts on their refurbished phones...
anyone else have this sticker??

The picture doesn't work. But if you knew you bought it new than you should call bestbuy and tell them that they sold you a refurbished one but I doubt that they did.

Mine is new from Verizon with the sticker on the back door. They all have those. The att one says att on the back cover. The T-Mobile one says T-Mobile. The s3 and note 2 also have these stickers

Does anyone know why this is AT&T LG V35 would be wrapped in this box instead of the regular black phone box? I'm concerned I bought a refurb when it advertised as brand new. The guy who sold it to me said he won it in a "contest." Maybe some AT&T reps might know?

Back in 2015 I won an AT&T LG G4 in a contest, and sold it on eBay.

You probably do not even have the normal 1 year warranty, since you didn't buy it new from authorized retailer or carrier.
But you got a great price. Otherwise you would have bought it new from AT&T, right?
A few months ago, I bought a new in box US998 from a friend who bought two from B& B&H Photo, like I did -- due to the $400 rebate if you bought two. I needed two (for me and wife), but she didn't. Her husband wanted to keep his old phone. So, she sold her 2nd one to me (at rebate price) because I wanted a spare. Of course it didn't qualify for the 2 year warranty like the my other two had. Because I didn't buy that 3rd one from B&H Photo, she did. Even if she had registered it for warranty before selling it to me, it would be her warranty, not mine.

I won my current V30 in a Droid Life contest... I was able to activate the 2nd year warranty by emailing LG. I had to be persistent with it, but they did activate it for me. I realize that is not the same scenario as you, but it may be worth the effort to reach out to the LG warranty team and present your case for the 2nd year.
