I just wanted to report that I was able to successfully get my AT&T Galaxy Note carrier unlocked using the service from Cell Unlocker. It costs $24.99, but for those of you who travel outside of the US and don't want to be forced into using your Note on WiFi only or paying AT&T's outrageous fees, this is certainly a route you may interested in. Additionally, the resale of your device is typically higher if it is unlocked!
I am not sure about the rules for linking to their site, and I am not affiliated in any way, just thought I would share this tip. If you want to find their site, just google "Cell Unlocker" and the first hit should be the one!

Gotta be unlocked it run it on another Carrier with there sim card.....
This is a carrier unlock, not unlocking the boot loader.
Root - root access to your device
Boot loader unlock - ability to flash custom kernels/ROMS
Carrier unlock - ability to use any SIM on your device - by default, you can only use AT&T SIM cards since the device has been 'locked' to their carrier

I popped in my "Three" UK sim and it roamed just fine on T-Mobile and made a phone call. I used a T-Mobile sim in my video though

I just got sucked into that same statement. I requested a refund of my 5 euros- or $6.61
Not such a great deal if they will keep it and not deliver. I recommend to Stay away from this till things are cleared up.

Did you guys try just calling AT&T to ask for the unlock code? They might be hesitant because the Note's so new, but they'll usually just give it to you if you insist you're traveling overseas a lot in the coming months.

Called and get " You need to own the device at least 6 months. That's the policy." No help at all.
Called, they said "the device is exclusive to ATT so we can't give it to you" plus the 6 month thing would deter from it.

ok, heres the deal. i have a friend on a different network that really wants the s3 when it comes out. he is willing to pay full price for the phone as the carrier he has now has a horrible selection of phones (their top of the line phone is the sensation). anyways, since im on a value plan, heres what im trying to figure out:
is it possible for me to buy a phone outright, have t-mo unlock it and give it to him?
since im on a value plan, can i buy as many phones as i want so long as ive completely paid them off?

BS, who told you that none sense? Go read their policy, once an individual buys a device at full prices, whether they're a current customer or not, the unlocking department has to provide an unlock once proof of purchase is show via fax to the said department.
Post paid customers have to be on a plan I think about 30 days the least or was it three months? Eh whatever and pre-paid have to be for at least a month with at least 10 bucks on their account.

He's right. As long as you bought it from a Retail or Authorized store and have the proof of purchase, then they will unlock it.
Current customers must have an account in good standing for 90 days and can only request one unlock code every 90 days.

It's "nonsense" but I worked as a CSR for 2 years and had friends that worked in the stores. You can't call CS and request an unlock code if you aren't a current customer and my friends who worked in the store couldn't do it either for non-active customers. The program that is used to request the unlock code has to have the active customer's T-mobile phone number input as a requirement, not optional.
Here's even a recent former customer that tried to get a SIM unlock and was told to reactivate his service to get the code. He was told the same thing I'm saying.....you have to be an active customer.

I have seen that a few people have said they managed to call VZW or go to a local VZW store and get an ISIS SIM sent to them even outside of the ISIS test area, but I have read that others were not able to convince them to send one... I was just browsing around in My Verizon on the website and found that I had the ability to request one myself, and it let the order go through even when I told it what phone number to link it to and where to ship it to, both of which are in southwest MO.
It may be possible that they will cancel the order, as I only placed it 5 minutes ago, but it could be worth a shot if you want one but are too lazy to haggle.
This is what I think I did, but I cannot exactly duplicate it so the path may be different - see below the instructions for why.
1. Log into My Verizon
2. Click on "Change Minutes, Text, & Data"
3. Select the device from the tab-style list on the top
4. Click the link that says something like "Get a SIM with an NFC Secure Element" (mine was the last link in the list in the content area of the page)
5. Just place the order and it should complete.
Now the reason I can't duplicate this or go back and check what things actually said is because I chose to do it for my line, and now whenever I try to go back and do the same thing for my wife it says that I must activate my recently ordered SIM before I can make changes, and the shipping I chose was 3 - 5 day shipping, so I will have to wait to get mine before I order one for my wife I guess.
Anyway, YMMV but I figured I would share this.
Yea.. I did same thing last week and got one.. I'm in Richmond, va. Doesn't do much for me since I'm rooted on cm10.1 and can't use Isis anyway, but I had to get a new sim regardless BC I jacked my other one up..

Cool, glad to hear it worked for you already - I hadn't seen anyone post about it yet. I won't necessarily be able to use it either since I am rooted as well, I just thought I would share the info for those who wanted the SIM, maybe if more people get it someone will find a way to bypass the root check.
Also, I just got my shipment email, so I guess I don't have to worry about the order being cancelled anymore. I must say, that was quick for them to process and ship.

Same, I can't get Wallet to work so I figured I would play around with this in the mean time.
As for shipping, it got here today, so it was still a two day shipping time, but it came by USPS First Class from Fort Worth, TX. Haven't bothered activating it yet as I hardly ever go anywhere that supports NFC payments anyway, probably won't be anywhere like that for at least a month. I only go to Walmart and Sam's for groceries, neither of which have NFC readers, and only use drive through at McDonald's where they actually have a reader inside.

I got a sim by walking into the store and asking for one. The girl there was quite helpful and we had a rather good discussion on upcoming possibilities. Not sure why so many are getting screwed. Guess Indiana has some nice folks working in those parts.
If I had to choose between Isis and Google Wallet, I'd go with Google. I like the setup better and it was easier to get working with my rooted phone.
I went into a local corporate store and picked up a se sim. At first they said they didn't know what it even was. Then a guy was like we have these white nfc sims. I was like I bet that is them. They looked it up and it was. They said they turned two other customers away that was asking for them earlier in the day.

I never noticed that the power button has the power symbol on it. I like it. The picture also shows how big the buttons are - they shouldn't be too hard to get used to.

You can buy directly from Samsung at one of their stores (there are only 4 or 5 in the whole country, though) or online from http://www.samsung.com/ca/consumer/mobile-devices/smartphones/galaxy-note/galaxy-note7/shop/
In the past, I have always just purchased directly from a carrier and then used cellunlocker.net or something like that to unlock it for $15-20. Works like a charm.

No, it doesn't void warranties (it's just like when you finish your contract and your carrier provides you the unlock code). And yes, I have done it recently. That's how I got my S7 edge - bought it from Rogers on a new line, then promptly cancelled my contract.

So if I'm on an installment plan I shouldn't do this?
It is just frustrating having to wait a month from release to sales. I want to get the phone with my carrier and they won't even do pre-orders.

You can do this anytime. Most wireless providers will also give you the unlock code for a price during your contract period (at least here in Canada).
Im trying to cancel my order i made thru the samsung website.
If it helps it already went thru the "pending" stage and money is back on my card but the order already says "confirmed" can i still cancel? Thanks in advance..hopefully it isnt too late...

you have to call Samsung, I called them earlier today to do the same thing, mine was confirmed and decided want to see the Lg V30 and the Iphone 8 to offer, CS person tried to do it on the website herself, and no luck so she did it on her system she said, but my order still shows confirmed not cancelled, but she gave me the cancellation id # and ticket # for cancelling my order.

Thanks, funny thing is that its a prepaid card but it says the money is back on the account even tho it isnt canceled..i want to cancel, or use the money to pay a bill to force cancel... But its saying there is no funds when i process it on the cable bill, i even tried topay my tmobile bill and it says declined... But when i go to the mastercard it says there is money on the account its weird....smh... Im so upset i feel like I'm going to lose the money $539. Since its a giftcard how will they return the money since this card isnt reloadable?

Just called and confirm with them you want to cancel. If the item does ship just make sure you do not accept but denied the item and you will be good. The carrier will note that you denied shipment. It's important for you to denied it because if you accept it Samsung might charge you a restocking fee due to the fact that they believe you might open the package.

These pics are before and after and im trying to use the money and i cant even tho its on my prepaid card...they cant charge me restock fee if its prepaid..where will the get the rest of the money from? I wanna cancel reguardless before it ships..but my fear is that i cancel and i STILL wont be able to use my prepaid debit card even tho it STATES that the money is there...smh..[emoji20]

You would have to keep the line active long enough to get the gift card (at least 8 weeks).

yeah unfortunately they didn't get the order cancelled soon enough, so I received 2 emails for my note 8 and the 360 camera on Sunday morning the 3rd and the final credit card amount posted to my card, but after finding out the V30 has no notification led, I`m glad I still have the Note 8 coming hopefully it will be here tomorrow:good:
