Hi,
Can someone confirm if EMUI 8.0.0.0 does not offer a setting to disable a certain wifi connection (SSID) ?
I sometimes have to do wifi testing and every time i select a different wifi connection it switches me back to the one I was on before.
On my old Sony Z5 (nougat) and even on my old Nexus phone running Kit Kat I was able to disable certain connections to give priority to others.
Is this feature missing on EMUI?

I find that in android 4.1 above, can't enable wifi-direct alone, it means I must enable wifi first and then use wifi-direct, but for android 4.0.x, the wifi-direct can enable alone, it's not very important for the use experience, but it's a big desent for the p2p transmission performance.
Because I use ping between two device connected with wifi-direct, and find that if open with wifi service together, there is a high delay 100-200 ms in every 10 second, the reason is the wifi service scan for other devices in every 10 second, I think it's a big problem for some application need low delay. So can anyone tell me the reason for this change, and if you have any solutions for the high delay, it's better.
Anyone know what the problem is where Android 6.x and now 7.x where apps do not work for connecting over temporary (non-internet connected) wifi networks to set up a device? For example I can't set up a Google Home or a Vizio smart TV, a Ring Wi-Fi doorbell or connect to a Wi-Fi action camera on my 7.1.2 device, basically anything where a device sets up a temporary network does not work, but if I dig out an old tablet running kitkat or something it work work fine to complete the setup. Since Android 6.x in my experience it will connect to the device's Wi-Fi but fails anyway as if no data is being transferred or something. It seems to be a common problem and it is something I've been dealing with for a good 18 months. Anyone know what the issue is and maybe a workaround for it?
Have the latest version on my Honor 5x KIW-L21. Very good ROM, much better performance than with Stock ROM, thank you all for the great work!
But what's very annoying is that tethering is not working good: Over WiFi Tethering connected devices periodically lose the internet connection, about once per minute. Sometimes, even the AndoidAP disappears on the connected devices. Have the same behavior on a Chromebook and on a Windows 10 computer. The Hotspot is configured WPA2/PSK and that it should never switch off. Haven't found any other configurable parameter. Have the problem regardless if the screen is on or of, or if the phone is charging or on battery.
It must be a Lineage OS issue, had never this problem on Stock ROM B370. The only thing that works reliable is USB tethering. Bluetooth tethering doesn't work at all (can switch it on in settings, but the Honor 5x is never visible on other Bluetooth devices).
It's a very important feature to me, because I have a mobile contract with unlimited data and I'm using that for all Internet purposes at home.
Have done a clean install with factory reset before flashing. What I have not done is rooting the phone, for security reasons, and because it's not described in the requirements for Lineage OS.
Has anybody have reliable Wifi tethering on a Honor 5x with Lineage OS or with another custom ROM?
Thank very much for any advice or hint about this problem, or a solution or workaround.
For years I've been using apps that change sound profiles (e.g. Tasker) when I am near cell towers or wifi routers WITHOUT the need for location/GPS to be enabled. When I upgraded to Android 9.0 Pie wifi polling stopped working when location is not enabled. I read that cell polling is also not working.
My desire is to have this functionality (near cell / wifi polling) WITHOUT the requirement of location to be enabled in Android settings. I simply do not want my location to be tracked quite precisely 24/7.
Is there a solution or some workaround to this problem? Maybe some additional apps, Magisk modules, custom roms or something else? At least I would like to have the option to disable GPS if location is enabled (there is no such option in stock Android). I have a rooted Smasung Galaxy S9+.
Ohhhh I don't know

How are you guys using Tasker on Android 9?! It's a popular app with 1M+ downloads and I can't believe that noone is sharing any experience with Pie!
I've searched high and low, everything I find is for an older version of Android. I have Android 10, UI 2.5, just got the phone and have done nothing to it. I need to know if I can change the hotspot broadcast channel, or is it permanently stuck on automatic? There are virtually no options in the Hotspot configuration at all, to a point where I'm surprised it gives you the option to select the band you want to use. This phone already seems very SuperUser unfriendly as it is compared to my Huawei I'm coming from, but AT&T sent it to me for free so what options do I really have...
