Have the latest version on my Honor 5x KIW-L21. Very good ROM, much better performance than with Stock ROM, thank you all for the great work!
But what's very annoying is that tethering is not working good: Over WiFi Tethering connected devices periodically lose the internet connection, about once per minute. Sometimes, even the AndoidAP disappears on the connected devices. Have the same behavior on a Chromebook and on a Windows 10 computer. The Hotspot is configured WPA2/PSK and that it should never switch off. Haven't found any other configurable parameter. Have the problem regardless if the screen is on or of, or if the phone is charging or on battery.
It must be a Lineage OS issue, had never this problem on Stock ROM B370. The only thing that works reliable is USB tethering. Bluetooth tethering doesn't work at all (can switch it on in settings, but the Honor 5x is never visible on other Bluetooth devices).
It's a very important feature to me, because I have a mobile contract with unlimited data and I'm using that for all Internet purposes at home.
Have done a clean install with factory reset before flashing. What I have not done is rooting the phone, for security reasons, and because it's not described in the requirements for Lineage OS.
Has anybody have reliable Wifi tethering on a Honor 5x with Lineage OS or with another custom ROM?
Thank very much for any advice or hint about this problem, or a solution or workaround.

Anyone know what the problem is where Android 6.x and now 7.x where apps do not work for connecting over temporary (non-internet connected) wifi networks to set up a device? For example I can't set up a Google Home or a Vizio smart TV, a Ring Wi-Fi doorbell or connect to a Wi-Fi action camera on my 7.1.2 device, basically anything where a device sets up a temporary network does not work, but if I dig out an old tablet running kitkat or something it work work fine to complete the setup. Since Android 6.x in my experience it will connect to the device's Wi-Fi but fails anyway as if no data is being transferred or something. It seems to be a common problem and it is something I've been dealing with for a good 18 months. Anyone know what the issue is and maybe a workaround for it?
I just got into ErfanROM (Stock 7.1) and it's really an awesom job. The ROM is really fluid.
However, since I installed it, not only this ROM but every other that I flash in my phone ends up getting WiFi connectivity issues.
Apparently, WiFi with WPA2 keys just can't find a way to authenticate. Can anyone lend me a hand?
PS.: All other devices connected to the network can still connect to wifi with no problems.
Thanks a lot
Any differences with open networks and/or with 5 GHz ones?
Hello guys,
I have a problem with my OnePlus X and LineAgeOS 14.1. It's basically like this:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-x/help/mobile-data-wifi-disconnect-t-mobile-t3357980
When I change my OPX from Airplane mode back to normal or when the connection switches from WiFi to mobile connection I loose my connection from time to time. But not on every switch.
The only way (so far) to fix this, is to reboot my phone. I face this issue for about 1.5 years and it's even my second OPX since I lost my first one. After I switched my network provider the issue got even worse.
In the status bar i only see gsm connection without mobile connection.
The odd thing is, that when I pull down the drop down menu I see mobile data connection.
I think this issue is kinda old and everybody fixed it somehow except me. Have I forgotten anything when flashing LOS or did I miss anything else? I appreciate any kind of help.
I tried to reset my Network Settings via "Settings App -> Wireless & Networks -> More -> Network settings Reset" but it did not help.
I'm on a mostly current LineAgeOS build with the lastest radio/baseband (0.1.c1.11-00006-M8974AAAAANAZM-1)
If you need any info from me just ask. I'm pretty familiar with linux and know how to use adb and stuff.
I would provide logs but it's not easy to reproduce this error.

Iím having the same issue, even after a factory reset.
Hi,
Can someone confirm if EMUI 8.0.0.0 does not offer a setting to disable a certain wifi connection (SSID) ?
I sometimes have to do wifi testing and every time i select a different wifi connection it switches me back to the one I was on before.
On my old Sony Z5 (nougat) and even on my old Nexus phone running Kit Kat I was able to disable certain connections to give priority to others.
Is this feature missing on EMUI?
I was just testing my hotspot with my work computer and VPN for upcoming travel and realized that hotspot did not disable WiFi on my Pixel 6. Everything worked fine, so I then tried it with my wireless data connection turned off and my laptop still connected.
The only caveat is that when in 'repeater mode' my laptop connects to the VPN server but there are issues with internet connectivity. YMMV.
Is this new for Android 12 or Pixel specific or have I missed this before. I know earlier phones I have had always disabled WiFi when used as a hotspot.
I have seen it on my friend's samsung s21. Did not know that pixel 6 also supports it. Thanks for sharing.
It's been like that since android 11 I think. I had it on my Pixel 4 XL on android 11
Ah, ok. I am coming from a Moto Z2 Force which was abandoned on Android 8 (AT&T variant)
Started at either 3 or 3A.
Any way to make this work on Pixel 2 XL?
