Hello,
OK, this is driving me crazy. Everytime my Samsung Vibrant connects to my car stereo via bluetooth, it will download the phonebook. The reason is drives me nuts is it takes over the display of the car stereo saying "Downloading". It may take 15-40 minutes to complete.
I don't want it to download it at all! I will use the phone to dial anything.
Below are links to the phone, car stereo and bluetooth adaptor unit to help anyone solve this problem. Kenwood couldn't help.
The manual for the head unit, on page 24 simply says "
To cancel downloading of the phone book data. operate
the cell-phone"
Operating the cell phone in any way didn't appear to stop the downloading of the phonebook
It appears the profiles involved are:
OPP is a profile used to transfer data such as a phone book between units
PBAP (Phone book Access Profile)
Turning off Data Sync on the Vibrant didn't affect downloading.
In the Bt-300 bluetooth adaptor manual, I have what is designated a Model J headunit.
Please can somebody help with this, as this is hundreds of dollars of equipment that I can't use for it's intended purpose. Do I need to unlock/jailbreak the phone?

Hi there
Today I LOST the function/ability to stream media audio via BT to my Windows 8 laptop. Don't know how it really happened, but this was working 100% last Friday, and I would really love to get it back.
I used to be able to connect via BT and stream audio from a video o web music, etc, but somehow I lost this today. I have removed and re-added my S3 to the bluetooth devices many times today and it is still not working. It shows BT successfully connected and I can transfer files both ways, but no longer can I hear anything coming from the S3 via BT.
I have successfully installed the latest working Samsung USB drivers, and still I cannot hear the media via BT.
My best guess is that somehow either the S3 or Windows decided (thru some configuration I haven't found) that my S3 no longer has the function to stream media audio thru BT. My basis for this is that I looked in my S3 BT settings and no longer see a "Use for media audio" checkbox there, but I used to see one. So I paired with a friend's laptop and my S3 BT settings do show this setting for him (also some other input thing I don't care for)
I don't know if this is something I can fix on the S3 or in Windows. Is there some hope for me to get this back?
PS: I think maybe Windows thinks of my S3 now as a BT modem (to share the phone's internet) more than a BT phone (which would include sharing media audio)

When BT is turned on but not connected to your other device the option to tick or un-tick the boxes will not work
I have attached two images, the first with BT on but not connected the second when its connected, if you check yours when you connect to BT and see is the media box is ticked, it should connect automatically but mine un-ticked itself the other day.
If these boxes show as ticked and the device connected then that part is working OK

I am not able to check that box, it doesn't display that option for me.
When I try to click the name of my laptop from the phone to make it connect, it does nothing. Nothing happens. So I also want to check that box and it is not there anymore.
So it seems I'm paired, I can send and receive files, but I cannot "connect" to receive media audio, or connect to even display the option to check it.
Is there any way that we can buffer audio from an android phone's wifi hotspot to other one-two android phone which is connected to it....
Simplyfied Point-
1). A Android Phone's Hotspot Is On.
2). One or Two Phones Are Connected.
3). The Phones Connected Can Buffer Audio From Hotspot Phone.
It should be act like a radio eg. the connected phone open a specific address in browser and buffer live audio by hotspot phone.
Please help me

Buffer?
Im quite confused. Do you already have an audio link but it stutters?
If not, then I think you mean you want to send audio from one device to another on the browser.
I'm not sure how you would go about opening ports to the locally hosted hotspot network(probably with ifconfig)
Then you would need a local binary that gathers the audio and makes it available as a local port on that device(etho wlan0 etc) with some sort of streaming protocol.
Then you need to connect to the stream with ipaddressort from your other device. Given that the other device's browser supports the protocol.
Hi There!
I need your help. My Car Headunit does not hold a stable wifi connection. For example when I make a hotspot with phone and connect to it with my Headunit, it has and internet connection for a couple of seconds (sometimes even up to a whole minute). After this the headunit says it has no internet connection, but it shows that it is connected to my phone hotspot (with excellent connection). To rule out my hotspot I parked my car in front of the house and connected the radio to my home network. It has the same effect.
Are you familiar with this problem?
I uploaded a picture of the box the headunit came in and a photo of the device info:

I dont know the exact brand but I think it is TopWay or something like that.
Thank you in advance!
Hello,
I've noticed a few threads about people having trouble with connecting the Amazfit Pace to The Headphone from Bragi.
The Headphone simply does not show up in the Bluetooth list of the Amazfit Pace. It has something to do with protocols that are not supported. With some experimenting I came up with a solution.
The instructions below only have to be followed once. After that, The Headphone will permanently be available in the bluetooth list of the Amazfit Pace.
- Turn Off The Headphone
- The most difficult part: Find a bluetooth adapter that will show up in the bluetooth list of the Amazfit Pace watch.
I have an old laptop with a bluetooth adapter and it shows up in the list on the watch.
- Change the Bluetooth MAC address of that adapter with https://macaddresschanger.com/ to the Bluetooth MAC address of The Headphone. Make sure to copy the original MAC address of the laptop so you can change it back to the original.
You can find the Bluetooth MAC address of The Headphone in the device manager when The Headphone is connected to a pc.
- Turn on The Headphone in pairing mode.
- After making sure that the new MAC address of the adapter is actually the Bluetooth MAC Address of The Headphone (you can see the new MAC address in the previously downloaded software from above), pair the watch with the laptop.
- After a successful pair, disable the Bluetooth on the laptop.
- Scan the bluetooth devices on the watch. You will notice that the name of the previously paired laptop will change to "BRAGI HP 38" and will connect
- You may need to retry the last 4 steps a few times for it to work.
- Enjoy!
- Don't forget to change the bluetooth MAC address of the laptop back to its original
