now i know that this is possible to do in the build prop, but i was hoping there was an easier way.
i have a bought a Android 4.0 powered tv box to hook up with a HDMI cable to my tv.
but in most apps the nav bar stays there. i would love to disable it fully, but a hide option would work as well.
i have searched high and low for a app that does it, but without luck. i did encounter a 4.1 app here on xda, but the app. it did nothing.
anyone has some experience or good ideas how i remove the 4.0 buttom navbar?
Hi there,
i am currently running 4.1.2 on my HTC One X and i have the issue, that basically the fullscreen mode is working with all apps, BUT i have to enable it manually every now and then. This is annoying.
Is there any possibility, so that the Apps can remember that fullscreen is my preferred setting, and thus it is always enabled?
I already tried "Spare Parts" which should enable this, but it is not working. Or it really is only working with tablets.
Thanks
Ok so I just upgraded to Jellybean and noticed this new feature inside the clock.

Mind you everything is stock on my phone.
So what's the point of this thing? I have no idea how to use it. Not under the save screen. Not under the widgets. No option to enable it either.
Just like some kind of a preview or something.
So how to use this thing?
If you put your s3 in docking station, this will be activated.
Hello,
Not sure what the actual term for these functions are: when the screen is off and you pick up the phone and swipe in any of 4 directions it will shortcut to homescreen, blinkfeed, last used app, ? and what you turn to landscape and press down volume it will go to camera.
Is there any way to change what these commands shortcut to? For example, swiping up to activate flashlight.
thanks
There is no way to change these sense functions without root - If I recall, even rooting you still can't change these options - just have to use a different launcher/rom
This is about as close as you are going to get to the answer you want..its a common feature among custom ROMs..its called screen off gestures..and yes you have to be rooted, and no you don't have to be s-off in order to root the device...its recommended to s-off if you want to do things to the firmware, but I'm not sure of your experience do I'll stick to your question...
The feature I screenshot is from Bliss ROM...
Hey,
i got the One UI 2 update yesterday.
Since then there is a bar below many apps, that does not seem to support dark mode.+ and wastes a lot of space.
Has anyone found a way to make this bar black/disappear und keep the gesture hint?
Thank you
Is the gesture hint causing it or is it the keyboard button? ?
Why not just turn off Gesture Hints? Completely useless function really. Not needed once you've had the Tab for more than a few days.

Click to collapse
The space stays there even when the hints are disabled.
Hints are not really needed, I just like the look more

Oh, so I guess they broke something in the newest update of One UI 2 on the Tab. Sorry, I haven't installed it on my Tab, but it's fine on my S10.
Looks like you were able to get Google Gesture Navigation working. But how? I installed the latest update with Android 10 and UI 2.1 but I'm still not able to activate it. I only can enable "Full Screen Gesture Navigation" but it's not fullscreen (see Screenshot). Any idea how I could enable the Google Gesture Navigation?

I use GoodLock. It allows you to swipe in from the sides to back out of an app and has just the home on the bottom of the screen. I see "other options" is greyed out - are you using a third party launcher? The Android nav implementation only works on Samsung's stock launcher. But with GoodLock, you can still implement the side swipe gestures.

Ah ok, it's an app.. thanks for that
That setting sounds awkward - why would I use these gestures on my Homescreen? Of course I'm using a third party launcher..
But thanks for your information
