I noticed I received an update on my redmi note 5 and when I tried to update it, It got stuck on 'getting info' so I turned off the phone.
When I switched it on again and go to settings to update it showed '1' in the system update section but when I clicked on it, it showed no updates available.
sound a little strange.
anyone got a new update or was able to update or it was these same issue happening with you too?
Thank you

dummy update
it comes up when I check for a system update, I went the first route when it first appeared on the server, after it started I turned my phone off and when restarted the update came through on the system update, then as I've plaed around checking for sys updates it comes up as optional update .99.99.999 dummy update Verizon signed size in a very small kilobyte, pops up about every 3 days or so asking if I want it, has anyone had any experience with this, thx for the reply but I'm afraid that I'm stuck on a bad path and cant figure out what this small update could be, anyone ? please?
Hi!
Today ICS for TPH (unbranded) was released according to @SamKiesUpdates and sort after I began receiving a update message from Software Update service asking to update (When I bought the phone I in my naiveness turn the options on on Settings->About->Software Update).
Software update never asked me for nothing and every time I did a check for update it said none until today.
My question is: Is there a way to stop it from asking? I can postpone the update up until 7 days but the icon saying that it was postponed stays nagging
Also does anyone know the download folder for the service in case it has download the ROM update?

Click to collapse
Pretty simple...Go to settings-->about phone-->Software Update-->Uncheck Auto update and Push message option...Probably reboot if required.
And that should do it.
Don't forget to hit the thanks button if it helped.
Thanks for the tip, it helped but wasn't enough...
I had to go also to Settings->Applications->Manage Application->All->Software Update and do a Clear Data
Then I rebooted just to be sure... and it stopped
Please set it again and dont clear data.
A few days ago I received a notification that many prime had a update available, i downloaded the update and tried to install,i got the usual green robot with open tummy then he turned red, which I assume means the update failed, the device rebooted fine and is working normally however when I try to check for the update to reinstall it says no update available .
Has anyone else experienced this? Or has anyone got any ideas what's happened?
Thanks in advance
So i bought a used Verizon S4 yesterday and it works fine. Last night it said it had an update, so i accepted before i went to sleep and this morning it said "software update unsuccessful"
Today i tried again to update, i downloaded the update, it verified the download, update available, tap to install, install now, it booted, said installing system update and then "error" about 5 seconds later and thats as far as it gets before it restarts the phone and says "software update unsuccessful"
The phone is not rooted (i used root checker) and is currently on I545VRUAMDK
Any ideas or suggestions to remedy this issue?
Plug it into your PC and let it update thru the Verizon app. Just realize once you take the update you will not be able to root your phone.
that worked, thanks!
My lenovo tab 2 A10-70F tablet notified me yesterday there was a system update so I started the update and it downloaded and told me to reboot the tablet. The tablet boots into the update screen then quickely boots out to android system recovery. The error message states that it doesn't recognize the update.zip file or something along those lines. I don't think this is a major update to a new android version or anything as it is only 100MB but I don't know why it fails every time. The real annoying thing is that I now have a system update notification in the notification area that will never go away.
Mine's doing the same thing. Any solutions out there?
