Can't stop Phone Manager from automatically deleting app files? - Oppo Find X Questions & Answers

I'm using a manga reader app which saves the catalogue dbs and image files to /sdcard and the stupid Phone Manager app thinks they're junk cache files and keeps on deleting them. I rummaged through Phone Manager and unchecked everything related to that app, but it just re-checks it automatically and at some point overnight it gets deleted.
Unfortunately Phone Manager isn't on the list of apps that can be uninstalled for user 0 . Is there any way to tell Phone Manager to ignore an app? This is my first Oppo phone so I'm just discovering these stupid chinese quirks...
Edit: sorry, thought I was in the Q&A subforum guess I can't move it now.

Hey man! I was having the same issue with my Find X, when just two days back I saw that the Phone manager was running in the background around 3am, and once it finished, my widget was gone. I know how frustrating this can get!
Upon further tinkering, I found that I could disable phone manager like this- settings>system apps>phone manager>self diagnosis frequency and then I switched it off. That's it! I tested it for two days, and my widget is still there.
Hope this helps!

taking control of apps and downloads

ok so this is my first smart phone and i hate that i feel like such a noob! i am accustomed to having control of everything win7.
i have astro installed on my rooted phone. just downloaded an app from amazon. i have not installed it yet and have no idea where the dang app is temporarily stored.
is there anyway to take control of the default file location for downloads? i would like to save the apk to my pc prior to installing it on the phone.
additionally im guessing that when an app is installed it creates folders and file locations that the app needs to function on the phone. so when apps are installed and uninstalled over time will there eventually be orphan files and folders that just take up space and cause performance issues?
Most market apps are stored in data/app. No. It wont cause performance issues.

[Q] Galaxy W GTi8150 - memory problem. HELP

I am new to android , being a WM ex-pat, so forgive my ignorance. Had this new phone a couple of weeks now and have encountered a big problem with it. At first it seemed fine, but after a week it ran out of internal sd memory, despite only having 250mb worth of stuff on it, the1.7 gb was full.
Cut a long ..etc. Seems sd/android/data/com.cooliris.media/cache/hires-image-cache ,is the culprit.
Every time media scanner runs it fills this cache folder with DUPLICATES (I suspect) of what has already been scanned, instead of adding only new stuff.
consequently the internal sd memory fills in less than a day.
I figured that rooting was the answer, so have successfully rooted, (with help of this forum, ) and tried using autostarts to disable media scanning , but , of course that means I cant access any media without it running. Since i havent been able to find an answer to this anywhere else, wonder if someone could tell me how to
sort this problem,?? (as its driving me nuts!!) Thanks folks.
sorry,don'know why
I don,t know why but since you know how to root then maybe this can help :
1. Install Titanium Backup from Market, the free version is suficient for the task. From backup/restore tab above, find "Gallery". Tap on it then select freeze. This means your Gallery app is still intact but won't run anymore.
2. Delete your culprit cache
3. Now as an alternative to Gallery app, you can use QuickPic from market.
Well, hope this solves your issue.
Thanks Distan7, - Took your advice and it done the trick!! (so far at least!)- (Had to get Tb full tho, as lite doesnt allow freezing!) This method beats my recent solution, hands down, which was to use prog called "gallery lock" to hide media from m.scanner, but its a long winded pain to use.! Tianium backup is a brilliant app! Many thanks for your help.
You're welcome mate, sorry I forgot that you need TB full to freeze apps. You could backup then uninstall Gallery using TB free, but I fear something bad might happen. Anyway TB is a great app with lots of useful features.
Hope the trick lasts
Hi a golden rule, as long your phone is rooted, a smart idea is that if you have TB and want to unistall a system app make sure at least to back it up before you unistall it!

Gallery Question

Coming from the original Incredible, both when resetting the phone or mounting it as a disk drive on your computer would automatically make the gallery and music apps recheck and delete old files/folders and display the new ones, rather than displaying the triangle with a question mark in it that you would come across when deleting a file via Root Explorer or through other methods. However, this doesn't work on the Inc 4G. Resetting the phone deletes nothing, clearing data and cache for the App does nothing, and mounting and dismounting it via USB only removes links to pictures/videos on the internal SD card (which shouldn't be the only place available for saving everything in the majority of apps, nor should it be called 'sdcard' and the real SD card called 'sdcard2', but we'll address that later.)
Barring going through all folders and picking and choosing which triangle-question mark links to delete in the app itself, is there a way to prevent or rectify this annoyance?

I appreciate the thought. Yeah, I know that works, I was wondering if there was any way besides doing it manually.

[Q] Directory keeps reappearing: malware?

I have recently noticed a directory appearing in the root directory of my SD card entitled "SexyAlbum." I have not downloaded any apps or files remotely remotely related to anything that this name would suggest. And every time I delete the directory, it reappears within minutes. It is always empty, and always contains the subdirectories "Saved_images" (which is empty) and "cache," which contains another empty subdirectory called "images."
I have run anti-virus scans, but the scans don't seem to detect any virus or malware. However, since this directory reappears every time I delete it, I am convinced it's malware.
Any ideas on how to address this problem? It happens on both my ICS phone and my JB Nexus 7. Thanks.
There must be a app related to that! Go to manage apps and see if you can find the culprit!

Thanks. After spending almost all day and night yesterday reformatting my devices, I figured out that this obnoxious directory appears to be installed by the Dolphin E-book add-on to the otherwise terrific Dolphin browser. This really shakes my confidence in Dolphin's integrity, or at least the integrity of its add-ons.

How do I check what files have been deleted after I uninstall an app?

hi. i'm new to the forum, looking for a quick help, sorry if this thread isn't in the right format or if it's in the wrong place...
so I had just uninstalled this streaming app called iflix. the app allows movies to be downloaded and kept in my samsung j5 (2016) device for 30 days.
I was running out of space and I really needed to clear up some quickly so without thinking too much, and without checking, I uninstalled the app iflix, and one other app. only for a minute later, I realized that I should've checked if I had any downloaded movies.
so days ago I found out where the app stores its movie files and today when I went to check that folder it wasn't there.
and my question is, is there a way I could check a log of some kind that would tell me what files and folders were deleted after uninstalling an app?
so that I could see if there were indeed some movies that were deleted along with the app.
