I want to install custom rom so i tried to install custom recovery mod or twrp using rom manager but my phone is not listed as it supports none of them . Is there any way to install custom rom without using custom recover or twrp i have already intalled android system recovery by default which has option of "install from package file" can i install using that? And second thing that i want to ask is i tried to install cynogenmod from playstore but my device is not supported by it . My phone karbonn a50s is very laggy it has 256 mb ram so if i install custom rom would it make any difference. I still can not find any custom rom which is compatible for my device . Acer E600 flash with another firmware

Hi all! Is it possible to flash the smartphone with the firmware of other vendor? For example, this Acer has CPU Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 400 and Samsung galaxy Grand 2 also has this CPU, GPU is also the same Adreno 305. I suppose something may not work, but what i have to do to flash this firmware for at least to boot? Acer is rooted, CWM is installed. What the issues could I have for flashing and booting?
The second option is to build Cyanogenmod custom firmware.
Any help is welcome
Flashing anything not made for your device will likely brick it. So that's not a good idea. :good:
It would be easier to build your own CyanogenMod than it would be to try to get a Samsung rom to boot on another device.
not possible

Hy! Sorry for my bad english. I tried to port a MIUI7 from the ZTE V5 RedBull (from original miui page) rom and the system is booted up but the wifi, the sound, BT, rotation doesnt worked (not hard to fix, but the miui rom had a security by the original developer so if I modify something in system, I got a popup after restart that this is a pirate version of this rom :S
Thank you for replies!

I also have an E600 Here is everything what need:
First you need a stock E600 flashable zip rom. You can do this with dsixda kitchen from the system and boot image.
Download the ZTE RedBull MIUI rom: http://en.miui.com/download-243.html
Rom porting how-to: http://en.miui.com/thread-70745-1-1.html (do every step except the boot.img editing)
Then comes the boot.img
1. Unpack the e600 and the zte boot image with Android Image Kitchen
2. Open the split_img folder in the unpacked E600 boot image, copy and overwrite everything except the boot.img-ramdisk.cpio.gz to the ZTE unpacked boot split_img folder.
3. Repack the ZTE boot image
Reboot the phone to cwm, install the ported zip to phone then flash the modified ZTE boot.img
any update on the custom rom?
have the issues fixed?
thanks.

"error executing updater binary in zip" , " error flashing zip "
however i could install a gapps file of version "open_gapps-arm-6.0-full-20160625" which i download from this website and it was installed successfully .
plzz help
thanks
Hey there,
That maybe the issue with your cm13's flashable zip file.
What is the version of cm13 that you have downloaded? (I mean the date of it, like this: cm-13.0-20160714-NIGHTLY-i9300.zip)
I got a gs3 too, and I flashed the cm13 nightly build that is released in 10/7, and it worked for me.
If you have any issue, reply this later!

MrTumi689
Hey there ,
Thanks alot for your concern tumi
Ive used too many versions of cm 13 like 20160717 -NIGHTLY , 20160704 -NIGHTLY , 20160625 , 20160621 , all of those didnt work :/ , and i updated my OS b4 from 4.3 to
4.4.4 official .
I dont know what the cause of this prob .
Thanks
Actually, I don't think that the i9300 cm13 is compatible with your gs3 neo, which is i9300i
Don't think that you can install cm13 right now. What you can do:
-Maybe wait for cm14 to release as Android N is almost complete. Takes you some patience as it requires time.
-The latest CM for your phone that I found is CM12.1. Sorry.
Link to the CM12.1 for you: http://www.cyanogenmods.org/galaxy-s3-neo-cm12-1-lollipop-rom-gt-i9300i-i9301i-and-i9301q/
hey
Hey Tumi ,
Thanks alot for you effort , i think that gs3 neo is the same model as gs i9300GT because i see both model names on my phone .
Anyway ill try this rom , i think its very similar to cm 13 marshmallow .
