I installed cyanogenmod 11 on my S3 using cm installer. Everything worked fine until I used the camera one day. I wanted to record a video and found that my phone recorded video only at 15fps in 1080p. So I returned back to touchwiz. Did anyone have the same problem?
Samsung uses closed source hardware drivers for specific functions such as the camera the WiFi and on Note series the pen and gesture features. Since the drivers are closed source Cyanogenmod can't use them so they use an alternative open source drivers, and that doesn't always work, and sometimes works with unsatisfying results. That's why CM is not 100% Stable on Samsung devices.
Hi I was wondering about why here isnt a fully functional port of Google Camera with HDR+ for non-google devices ?
If I read correctly, its SW thing, so it can be ported, but cant find anything.
Anyway after some research i think it can be possible. Its all about "hack" camera apk to think its running in Nexus 6P (or any other HDR+ compatible device), and file (for Google Camera 4.3) that control it is in
"\smali\com\google\android\apps\camera\util\ApiHelper.smali"
Can some developer look at it ?
I am using AOSP 8.0.0_r34 on my device and I'm trying to find a working Google Pixel Camera port with the HDR+ feature. I tried installing many APKs that I found online, but they either won't install or will install, and when I open them, I will only see a black screen with the shutter button and camera switch button.
Has anyone successfully installed one of the latest versions of the Google camera on their device? How do I do it? Are there no working Google camera ports that are compatible with the AOSP ROM? Is there hope?
Newest Camera from Google is 64bit only so it will not work on our phone because it's 32bit. There are no 32bit ports at the moment at I don't expect to be any, sadly.
HDR+ is a feature of the SoC unfortunately, not just software.
Hello
I am currently running LiquidRemix pie, happy about it, everything is smooth. However, I have tried several Gcam ports so far, and none seems to work.
Is there one with working focus? I do not mean autofocus, but just manual focus, where I click on object, and cam will focus it. I feel like almost every Gcam port out there tries to autofocus, but fails and focus on nothing, resulting in really blurry images. Other features working well (HDR+ and such).
However, I see many people using Gcam as a main daily driver, so I believe there is a way to make the manual focus work. I am bit lost in the quantity of Gcam ports, so maybe I missed some. Or could it be glitch in LiquidRemix pie rom ?
If it is glitch in LiquidRemix pie rom, please recommend me other. I dont need top notch performance, usually just youtube, sometimes cam, reading reddit and just basic stuff. Long battery life is a big plus too.
Thank you very much for input
Michal
Best gcam for me is BSG test (search for bsg dev on celsoazevedo page)
Autofocus is not an issue of the rom, it's a kernel issue
Try zucc kernel

Kernel fixed that issue, but brought others (media playback issues). I also have occasional data issue, which seems to be common in this rom.
What rom do you use? I would like to use something stable, with that GCAM, that is my only requirments (no need to have Pie, if its possible to have Gcam on oreo)
Thanks for recommendations

Look for bsg-test 8.1
I'm currently using LineageOS 16.0 as my rom, and I've tried many different google camera ports from different developers and all of them can't seem to work properly. It cannot keep the track of focus in the camera mode. So when I tap the screen it will try to focus but it will remain blurry. But the video mode works fine, it focuses properly. This problem only happens when I'm using the ported google camera, so the stock camera and other camera applications works normally. Where did the problem came from and what should I do to solve the problem?
Sorry for bad english, still learning
new Kernel might fix as It did for me 2 times.
