Cool.
So there is an update for GPU Turbo on MediaPad M5
:good::good::good:
It seems like it takes forever for Huawei to release updates for the M5. I'd think with it being their "flagship tablet" they'd pay more attention to it. In particular I find that the releases for the SHT-W09 (C567, WiFi, 8")are dreadfully slow. I'd really hoped for Huawei to not ignore the device.
The Chinese firmware (C00) has had GPU turbo on the M5 8.4" since 9th July, firmware version 8.0.0.171. Changelog: http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G1943/g1719/v151702/f1/full/changelog.xml

Indeed, that's the thing, my concern is that they seem to be ignoring the other device versions like the US (C567) which still doesn't have GPU Turbo enabled.
Yep. The sht models received often updates. I have cmr-al09 432 and I'm on june path. Huawei y5 2018 which is much cheaper device got August update and faceunlock a few weeks ago... But still the device is great. Now im waiting for August update, its on firmware finder already..
Hopefully, Huawei will release GPU Turbo on MediaPad as soonest.
As I am playing PUBG Mobile on my MediaPad M5 8.4

Its really a shame. Also like zero transparency. Would be nice to hear like: Hey, we are working on Pie but going to take a bit longer.
I am downloading 8.0.0.181 with GPU Turbo on my M5 (LTE) EU and try to install manually. Lets see.
Alright, I updated manually the EU LTE Version to 8.0.0.181 with GPU Turbo and August Security Patch.

Does it make a difference in battery life and performance mate, I know they say it does but does it in real life?

Which twrp u use to update ? The twrp from m5 thread don't work with HuRupdater on my m5 10.5 wifi model it gives me an error .
For few months i was using an twrp from p10 but can't find it any more.
You need Pretorian TWRP and then the P10 Oreouopdate zip. With this it worked for me.

Did it still have the touch issue where you can't draw small circle properly using touch?
Related
1) It will be optimised to work perfectly on low-end hardware – even devices with 512MB of RAM so canvas HD will benefit even more.
2) It will use 3.8 Linux kernel.
3) Software Improvements.
4) Complete UI overhaul which would look like our current Google Play store (both desktop and app).
5) etc.
Experimental 3.8 Kernel:- https://android.googlesource.com/kernel/common/+/experimental/android-3.8
Kernel is the centre of attraction, why? because
The 3.8 kernel is supposed to handle memory more efficiently and/or use less. That means there is a good chance that devices that currently have Android 4.1 may even run better on Android 5.0, because of having more available memory. Maybe 1GB of RAM will last longer than anyone thought! and Moto X supports the statement as it's a low end device compared to the competition in the market i.e Galaxy S4, HTC One & Xperia Z. That would help Android fragmentation a lot if 1GB turns out to be plenty of RAM for Android 5.0.
Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie is rumoured to release this october.
Update 1:-
Android 4.3 was released not so long ago for the Nexus 4 and new Nexus 7 2 with build number JWR66V and JSS15J respective, and if you notice these numbers do not have a K in it at all.
Android 4.3 was released a about a month ago and tests have been ongoing with Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie, has this new operating system just been confirmed? The reason is because new reports showing up on the Chromium Project reveals the Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 2 running KLP 5.0 OS.
The site also shows that the Samsung Galaxy S4 number is at JDQ39.I9500UBUAMDK, the Galaxy S3 with JRO03C, and the Note 2 with JZO54K, the first letter for these three devices say J, which means Jelly Bean. So to see the Nexus 7 with KRS36B and the Nexus 4 with KRS36B, this means the K is for key Lime Pie.

The Nexus 5 by LG is going to arrive in October and you know every next gen Nexus gets a new Android OS which is the Google way(i.e. Key Lime Pie).
I think they did not unveil KLP at Google I/O because they wanted to save it for the Nexus event. These are just guesses but a lot of trusted sources are confirming that it will be unveiled in October at Nexus launch event.
Maybe but

But I think MMX will release it for HD if they are releasing it for Canvas 4.

Hello all, :laugh:
i was looking for a thread about the rev hardware of LG G2 here, but i cannot find anything.
In one italian famous android forum, we have discovered that there are 3 rev hardware for the LG G2: 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2. :fingers-crossed:
The hardware rev. 1.0 is the first, that have been replaced by hard rev 1.1 about end febrary/first days of march (i think) and comes with a lot of hardware fix like:
- speaker little more louder and clear;
- no more crackles on the body (back);
- no touchscreen issue;
- improved signal status;
- power button less soft when pressed;
- should have fixed the problem with 2g/3g switching;
Recently, some users have bought the LG G2 D802 from some asian exporter, and it comes with hardware rev 1.2, so it should be produced this days.
You can see your hardware rev on the box, as you see in this photos:

1.0 and all good.
Not all hardware revisions are improvements, of course. Some are out of necessity - component changes due to obsolescence, cost reduction, build easement and so on...
We would probably never know what the revision history is - it's not disclosed.

I have 1.0 and none of the issues that you said.
Speaker is loud enough for me. No cracking sound after the update to KK.
Touchscreen excellent,
Signal awsome.
Switching btw 2G and 3G great.
I seriously doubt that this has something to do with those numbers.
just my 2 cents.....
I have 1.2 and bought my phone in early December so I doubt this revision thing is based on production date, probably something based on phone region. Mine is SEA.

Hey after reading the software policy on Honor's website, still left wondering. Will it get the update?
Nougat update will be made for Honor 5X. It will take little more time than stock androids.
Remember that Honor 4X, which was released with Kitkat is now running Marshmallow.
Yes it will get,Timeframe 2-3 months
I will bet my money it will, it'll just take some more time then other OEMs, like it did with the marshmallow update, and if not, we can always go through the custom rom route and get it some time later in the future.

I've been hearing that yes the 5x will be getting the update with (Communication Gods willing) a 'more stock/softened version of EMUI". So I figure give it about 4 months after official release maybe a bit longer...

The reason for some other flagship devices not getting Nougat is that their processor wont support Vulkan API.
Since both Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 are powered by the Snapdragon 800 SoC, they are not likely to support Nougat.
According to Wikipedia's list of supported processors, Snapdragon 200, 208, 210, 212, 400, 410, 412, 600, 800 and 801 chipsets does not support Android N. Qualcomm said that the graphic drivers won't be released for the above mentioned SoC's.
Some of the prominent handsets affected by Qualcomm's decision are as follows
Samsung Galaxy S5
Samsung Galaxy Note 3
LG G3
LG Nexus 5
Sony Xperia Z3
Motorola Moto X 2nd. Gen
HTC One M8
OnePlus One
OnePlus X
Xiaomi Mi4
List of other affected prominent mobiles due to other Soc's are,
Galaxy A7
Galaxy A8
Galaxy S5, S5 Plus
Galaxy Note 4
Galaxy Note Pro
Meizu MX4 Pro
Galaxy A5
HTC Desire 828, 830
Honor 6
Honor 7
Huawei P8
Huawei Mate S
Since Honor 5X is running on Snapdragon 616, it will get Nougat for sure.

As you know, we saw Samsung's working on Android Pie for A5 2017 at the end of 2018. And now, they're working on A7 2017. First of all I didn't think they will release 3rd major update for them because of Samsung's update politics. Maybe they want to change that. If they do, this series is gonna be the FIRST Samsung phone models to get 3rd major update. What do you think about that? Is it possible? If it's possible, would you like S7 to get the Pie update too?

Yes, this is 100% an unofficial Pie rom, probably with passed safetynet.
It is confirmed that the Galaxy A3, A5 and A7 2017 will receive the Android Pie 9.0 update.
I'm attaching a screenshot of the news with some of the eligible models. You can read the news on the Samsung Members app.
@rashisp
Don't trust this list. We can see here Galaxy J7 (2016), which has 3(!) major updates yet (It was released on Android 5.1.1 and got Android 6.0.1-7.0-8.0.0). Android Pie will the 4 update. But, who knows, I think it because it based on Exynos 7870, which Samsung likes to use on their low-end devices. I hope Samsung will roll out Pie for A-Series 2017. At least, for A3, because it based on Exynos 7870 too.

But, who knows, I think it because it based on Exynos 7870, which Samsung likes to use on their low-end devices. I hope Samsung will roll out Pie for A-Series 2017. At least, for A3, because it based on Exynos 7870 too.

Sorry, but how can I not trust Samsung's statement in their official Members app? I know Samsung hasn't been good updating lower-end devices, giving only two major updates; but they haven't given any false promises either (saying they will update a device and then cancel said update) as far as I know.

I think Samsung's being a little sneaky here. They only say that the devices are eligible. That doesn't mean that they will 100% get the update, only that it's possible.

It is confirmed that the Galaxy A3, A5 and A7 2017 will receive the Android Pie 9.0 update.
I'm attaching a screenshot of the news with some of the eligible models. You can read the news on the Samsung Members app.

Well, it came straight from Samsung so it must be pretty accurate. So don't count on getting pie officially.

You're right but I meant it might be something. I think there's a little chance. Let's hope Samsung makes a surprise for us

Any update on this? Is the K20 Pro officially released in India? Are we getting support now from the well-known Indian devs?

Too costly in India, it won't be as hot as was expected, almost 40% less sales most probably.
Price is similar to one plus 7 so not worth it.

Really!
Guess I start expecting too much intelligence on XDA.
One plus 7 and one plus 7 pro are different devices with different price point, is that too hard to understand?
@Funk Wizard
Have you changed camps from OnePlus to Redmi now? Never seen you so interested in some device other than OP flagships from past years.

OP7 starts at INR 33K for 6+128 configuration. K20 Pro costs INR 31K for 8+256 option. How exactly is that "similar"?
Also, why do you feel it's "too costly" if you are willing to pay significantly more for a OP7? Just because it has clean OOS?
Is there any info. on the LTE basebands on the Indian device? Is it the same as the Chinese hardware wise?
My question is if we can buy it from AliExpress and flash Indian ROM on it for Band 20 if they're the same hardware wise.

Looks the same as the Chinese, no band 20.

is it an official testing for Redmi as a tester or test on your own purchased unit? I'm just curious.

No, there is way better development scene in op7. Used op3t and still use it more often then Poco when I'm not gaming, it just feels better in hand.

I am using OP3 as my main phone til this day, so yes while the development scene helps, i feel MIUI is not bad itself minus the ads. I am still on OOS stock ROM, with a custom kernel only. I feel Android has reached to a point where custom ROMs won't make much sense expect for when the device has lapsed its original official software update window (2 years). I am still using OOS Oreo on OP3 and it works just fine.
