Ghost touches are caused by either a hardware fault, an incorrectly configured custom kernel, or a bad charger/bad current to your charger.
This means that either:
A: you have incredibly bad luck with hardware (not likely)
B: you've used custom kernels on all of your phones all of which bear the same defect (less likely)
C: you're using the same cheap charger with each phone (God I hope not)
D: your house/powerstrip has bad wiring (most likely)
EDIT:
E: you may have an abnormally strong magnetic field. This happens to some people for no obvious reason, and there's nothing you can really do about it (less likely than anything else I mentioned).
Well i havent been flashing any custom kernels for this phone. I did however finally flash cm11 snapshots and it seems to have gotten better. In fact this phone has so many kernels im not sure where to find them all or what all of them do. I stopped buying motorola phones cause they all screwed up. Im honestly more convinced i probably have too much magnetic field in me lol

It's most likely the wiring in your house, especially if you live kind of out in the country. Next to that, I'd guess your powerstrip.
but it does it when not connected to power
having the same issue myself, it got worse after I flashed a different radio, ever since it has gone nuts. one day the touchscreen stopped working for good, I had to let the cellphone rest for a few days and then it started working again. Not sure what it is, this cellphone has given me so many headaches, I feel like smashing it into a wall.
Hi guys,
My phone seems to be hard bricked: black screen, nothing happens when trying to charge it, not possible to put it in DL mode, and even usb jig is not working.
Now I'm fully aware of the risks that go with a bad flash, but what is weird in my case is that it happened out of nowhere: I was on stock rom, phone was suffering from a bad case of slowdowns/random freezes/etc so I decided to put CM 11 on it. Like a phoenix my phone rose from his ashes, battery was holding for a full day instead of the usual 3 hours, no more freezes... but then after 2 days of working like a charm, I just found it plain dead on my desk.
Has it ever happened to anyone, suffering that kind of brick a few days after flashing but not during the actual procedure ? Does anyone has a potential solution other than replacing the MB ? (not really worth it on a 2 years old phone IMO, since there is little chance that I will stumble upon a free MB, and I'm not even sure that it would solve anything anyway)
Thanks for your help !
Nothing to do with the flash. Fact - electronics fails/dies. All the time. All electronics. Often without warning & for no apparent reason other than that's the nature of electronics. I don't know why people are so surprised when this type of thing happens.
Motherboard replacement or new phone - a motherboard replacement will fix the phone; one or more components on the motherboard have obviously died.
http://www.parts4repair.com/categories/Samsung-Repair-Parts/ seems to stock reconditioned motherboards for the S2......double figure prices rather than mid triple figure prices for a new phone.....you do the math.......
My wife says I'm a phone geek....She's probably right
Hey,
Bought a brand new g5 last week, great phone and overall no problems with it. But recently I noticed that when I press the screen with just a tiny bit more pressure the colours start to distort.
I've rooted every single phone I had and I'm really glad I did wait a little before I root this one (h850) .
So, do you all have this problem ? is this common ? Should I send the phone back or the one that will come will be the same ?
Please help
Yeah, there's definitely something wrong with your device. I've had mine since May and that has never happened at any time I owned my device.

If you press the screen glass hard, and I mean hard, it will distort like all LCD screens, it's normal.
but the thing is that i don't press hard just a tiny bit harder than the average touch i would use and it happens.
I guess I should probably check the warranty but i'm really not sure about the deffinition of hard and what everyone means.
For sure though I check my g4 just now and nothing like this happens unless you press uncomfortably hard.
If I press a little harder than normal (for touch) nothing happens. Even if I press kinda hard (too hard imo) nothing happens. I'd say you have something wrong with your device. Maybe an issue with manufacturing.
ok
Thanks for the replies, i've already sent an email to lg to check things out and waiting for an answer so I send the phone back as soon as possible. The screen bleeding in my phone is also pretty apparent, since you can see the left top corner more brighter no matter what colour the background is.
Update:
So I went to lg service center.. They told me this is not a problem it's how the phone is made, then I went on to tell them about my kinda extensive backlight bleeding problem, then they told me this is not a problem it's how the phone is made.
Finally I told them about the thing that the glass is higher than the removable part of the phone so it's like a small step and she happily changed the removable part to a new one and gave me the phone afte 45 minutes.. Apparently this is how much time it takes them to remove the battery and put it back in.
Overall I'm utterly unhappy about the service and the warranty of this phone and really not planning on buying again by a company that in my opinion makes the best phones right now.
ps. There was a g5 demo on the service center and it was ten times worse on both backlight bleeding and touch distortion thing than mine
btw, since it turned out like this I'm planning on extensively checking my phone for any other defects and then rooting and enjoying as a great phone it is. Any suggestions on what are the most common problems to check for ?

Same problem and have gone through two g5s though the 2nd one is better. I think you should also look out for gps issues.
Hi all this is my first post,
I have owned an LG G5 September and it has been flawless. A couple of days ago while plugging my G5 out of the charger, the tap to change usb connection persisted and from doing research on the forums it seems like this can occur at random without much being able to be done to fix it. Since then I have experienced extremely high battery usage from android system and I have noticed that when going into the lock screen of the phone, I am given the prompt to scan my finger with a red exclamation mark, as if i have already tried and failed to scan my finger. However the fingerprint scanner does work regardless, what i have noticed is that when scanning a new finger in settings, the phone vibrates very rapidly somehow fully registering a fingerprint in less than a second rather than vibrating and telling you to change positions of the finger. Also the fast charging capability has stoped working as a result of my phone thinking its plugged into the computer.
To sum it up, is it really possible that a single unplugging of the cable can cause the above problems? Also do any of you think that replacing the bottom port and hence the usb port (the root of the issue?) will fully resolve all problems?
I have already:
Reset the phone to factory settings
Restored from backups
Put it in rice to remove any moisture
Please ask me if any other information is required to come to a possible solution.
Cheers
Sounds like either got wet somehow or battery defect. My battery got wet and was having same issues. Did you get it wet? Don't use it untill problem fixed. Water + electronic= rip

hi man same problem here. usb notice randomly appears even if it isn't plugged and also fast charging doesn't work. I've used compressed air to clean usb port and seems that the notice doesn't appear anymore, but the fast charging still not work

Either got damaged or water damage. Probably get a new battery will fix that. I'd be a little is hesitant using the phone if it is water damage, if I was you. Might wanna take battery out untill you get new one.

Well i ordered a new battery, should be here on Monday. I'll report the results.
Well I got the new battery, unfortunately this hasnt resolved any issues. Next step is to try a new bottom piece, that should do the trick if not rip G5 and money.

Why not ship it to LG?

It has sth with usb socket in your phone. Look if there is some dust or anything. Clean it carefully with needle or sth while phone is power off. Battery drain is because phone thinks it is USB cable connected, when USB is connected phone can't enter into deepsleep state. If anything help try to replace this part which holds battery and have USB socket. I think it is still cheaper than sending phone to service.
Sound Problems
I have random sound problems since i have updated my LG G5 (H850) to Nougat.
Specifically some times the notification sounds not working. (fb messenger - sms - ringtone) Its like i have muted the sounds but all the sounds are enabled.
Also i have noticed that when this problem occuring when i try to watch videos from youtube or video streaming sites, its shows me an error message and i cant watch the videos.
When i restart the phone it fixes. It think its a software problem because i have not those problems at the past running marshmallon.
At the moment i am running official h850 20c update. I have tried factory reset but the problem insists on.
Have you ever noticed something like that or heard anything about those problems? (i have also a friend that he has the same problems with his LG G5 since he updated to Nougat)

Basically the story goes as this: I bought it from one of the biggest electronics retailers here in the Netherlands (Mediamarkt) and I asked them if they can carry out reparations and they said it needs to go to LG. So I attempt to sign up my G5 for the reparation programme LG has, only to be told at the end of the form that the G5 is not being serviced here anymore. I call LG's customer service and I was given the reason "due to extremely low sales the product is not supported anymore in the region", LG also told me that Mediamarkt has to carry out reparations because there is a mutual agreement between the two even though Mediamarkt claims they are unable to carry out repairs and no such agreement exists. So as a consumer I am stuck between these two big companies and the standard 2 year guarantee is basically useless, which is why I am hoping a new bottom port will bring everything back to what it was.

Yep I agree completely that it most likely has to do with the bottom port, I also believe a new bottom port will fix most if not all issues. I dont have many options anyway I need to diagnose the phone myself otherwise I've lost my money and device.

Aka you've been screwed over. That situation right there would make me not wanna ever deal with either company ever again. You should try to talk to someone at LG higher up, like manager or something.
LG tried screwing my brother over with a promotion. Well after talking to manager he got things fixed.

Go back to media markt and be a pain in the arse.
If you ask customer service nicely they more often will feed you with standard replies. Tantrums tend to help, sadly.
Double check how things are legally. Quoting the law also helps and or asking for a supervisor.
Good luck
Hi, I have a problem with a Honor 10.
Since August it started to restart randomly, I just replaced the battery and I just did two factory reset but the problem continues to manifest even in the configuration screen.
I would exclude the faulty power button, since before rebooting it usually froze on the activity I was performing.
Any ideas?
Thank you!
Test power button with ohm meter.
It was doing this after the reset with just it's factory load? No 3rd party apps loaded?
Try reflashing firmware.
Maybe be a mobo failure.

I really don't think is the power button because it reboot even in idle on the table, and i saw that if i put it on charge it reboot instantly.
I have this problem even in the configuration screens after the factory reset, indeed i've must configured two or three times because of that.
I'll try to reflash the firmware, then i'll wait for a new battery i ordered a month ago.
If it will be still broken i guess is a mobo failure.
I have a question: i didn't flashed a smartphone before, and i was asking myself if this reboot problem can mess up with flashing, bricking the phone. Can it be possible?

Yeah if it interrupts the flash that won't end well...
If you can return it, do so... otherwise...
Before you go flashing nuts try to determine if it's a hardware issue. Check ribbon cable connectors... and that switch.
Firmware shouldn't become corrupted unless there's a flash memory failure or it was a bad flash to begin with.
Does it not do this is safe mode? 3rd party app if so.
If it does it when in the boot menu it's likely hardware.
If so it may be just a failed battery. Try with charger connected to see if this alters the behavior.
If you don't feel comfortable repairing it, let a good tech do it for you. I always remember my first mechanical alarm clock disassembly... it didn't go well

It reboots even in safe mode!
It would seem a hardware problem, possible that I bought a new battery already damaged?
It’s been a few hours since it works good after charging it to 100%, it seems that it starts to reboot towards 50%.
I wanted to flash it also because before doing the factory reset, it automatically installed some "stock" apps by itself, I refer to some games that Honor automatically installs at each factory reset, every time I uninstalled them, after some restart they reinstalled themselves.
It was a weird issue but looks like fixed with the factory reset, so now i only have the reboot issue.
I am so desperate that I would like to try the battery of my Honor 10 (the one with problems is that of my girlfriend), I would not buy another battery since I have to be delivered the one I ordered from a month.
It may be the battery, they can fail at any time.
It's rare for new ones to fail but it happens.
Use a firewall to block auto updates or installs.
Karma Firewall works well but its valuable logging feature doesn't work on Android 10 and higher, but it still will block apps.
Update: I just bought another battery and the problem persist.
Now im sure is not the battery so i will flash it very soon no matter what.
I have been having the same problem as you guys have since last Christmas (2020), when my phone was 18 months old.
I switched phone and gave the Honor 10 to my wife for Coin Master and the problem persisted.
However, two months ago the battery started to swell and surprisingly the problem went away completely for about a month. But as it swelled to the extent of pushing out the screen the problem returned a month ago.
Thinking it was possibly a battery/battery connection related issue, I changed to a new Pisen battery last night. Sadly, the rebooting continued but only for 2-3 times today.
So it is probably an issue with the board itself.

The battery failure may have damaged the mobo or perhaps it was preexisting.
Check ribbon connector pins for damage. Look around for visible solder cracks. Try pressing gently on the mobo with a pencil eraser with device powered on to try to find the area. Check ribbon cables too by gently moving them.
One of the most likely places for a failed solder joint are the BGA chipsets. The many solder pads are under the chipset, inaccessible.
Press gently on them to try and verify this. A hot air station (and skillset to use it) is the only way to repair this type of failure.
Any battery swelling is a failure, replace it asap.

As I said, battery has been replaced with a brand new one. Therefore the swelling issue is fixed.
Don't have the skill set to use a hot air gun or to solder so this is it for me.
Quite disappointed by the QC of Huawei as this was my first Huawei phone. I have been using Xiaomi since my first smartphone and never had an issue like this before.

My point was a mobo failure is generally a game over event.
I run strictly Samsung's as I like their UI and have become familiar with them. Of course in 2-3 years that could change if Samsung keeps dropping the ball.

I understand.
That said, Huawei did replace the MBs for out of warranty customers in mainland China as a good will gesture.
Too bad that policy did not extend outside of China.

Maybe see if they'll discount a mobo for you.
Not free but it might sweeten the deal.
Or write it off and move on.
All my Samsung's have been long lived with replacement batteries being the only repairs.
Another reason I like them.
In my case it was sort of dumb luck especially when choosing the first Note 10+. In this case they did live up to their hype.
The S4+ lasted over 5 years and still boots up.
I had the random reboots going on for weeks even at night, also bootloops sometimes .
I tried a lot of stuff but i got my phone going again for 2 weeks now without any reboots.
It might be just pure luck but this is what i did last time:
Did a complete reset of the Phone ( everything gone )
I changed simcard to other simslot (i think this made the difference, atleast for my phone)
No apps from Meta (You dont want any of their **** anyway )
ill keep you posted

Hey guys, it seems that I solved the problem by bringing the phone to a Huawei service center, they performed an "operation on the motherboard".
Actually they changed the battery with an "original" one for 60€ (the one I had replaced cost 10€ ), then when the problem obviously came back they did the repair on the mobo at no extra cost.
I guess it went well.

Did you had any reboots after the motherboard change?
I got the same issue with my Honor 10. Tried every trick that I could think of, but nothing seems to help.
What I noticed, that sometimes when it restarts it does get very hot in the area near the camera. (not sure exactly what component it's there but it's something on the motherboard)
I'm thinking if it worth doing this motherboard change. (as it seems to be a design/component issue if there are so many that have this problem)

No, no reboot at all, but I noticed later that they rolled back to Android 8.0, so I’m thinking that they didn’t fix the motherboard, but they actually found a workaround by downgrading the OS.
I’m afraid to try to upgrade to Android 10.0 for this reason, I don’t even know if I can do it considering the new Huawei policy of flashing and stuff, but my girlfriend is ok with that so I let it go.
I can confirm that even now, on each task (TikTok scrolling for example), it gets very very hot in that point near the camera, my perfectly still working Honor 10 instead does it only on intensive use of the camera.
I hope this information can help you with your Honor 10, I suggest you go back to an older version of Android if possible just for troubleshooting.
If it persists, the motherboard is probably faulty and you need to replace it, I guess...
