1. install xperia companion and make successful connection with your device (enable usb debugging also)
2. install minimal adb and fastboot also
3. install latest flashtool and on the download page of the webside, x10flasher.jar are give and must be replaced from c\flashtool
4. drivers.exe given in the flashtool folder must be install (atleast all drivers for devices having "COMMON" mentioned + z series drivers (ALL ) ) ---- if your windows is w10, you must disable digital signature verification (google it)
5. after all this , you must make first connection with your windows! by switching off xperia X and plugging usb in X while pression (1) volume up key (fastboot mode) -- windows will install some driver (somec) --- (2) then unplug usb and replug, this time volume down key, (Flashmode) -- windows will install some driver! -----
6. NOW try flashing!

usb driver installation fails (bootloader unlock tutorial)

Hi,
I decided to unlock my bootloader following the guide from the sony website (http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/instructions or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1568792) but when I try to install the S1boot fastboot drivers (step 13, which other number could it be ;-)) Windows does not find any suitable drivers in the usb_driver folder. The inf file is in there as well as the rest of the driver, but selecting "install" from the context menu doesn't work either (installation method not supported by this inf file).
Phone: Xperia mini pro SK17i with latest 4.0.4 stock rom (aka pile of s...)
PC: Win7 Pro x64 with latest Android SDK and Google USB driver version 4. Restarted PC as well, more than once.
Any ideas?

I can't attach such a large file, but I can help you. Download the latest flashtool 0.9.6.0 or 0.9.8.0 (you can find it anywhere in the net), install it, then go to the folder where it is unpacked and in the "drivers" folder you'll see the installer for the needed drivers. Just select the ones you need or select all. Reboot and that's it.
If you have Win7, execute the installer in compatibility mode
Good Luck

Don't worry. The installer described by wah000 has all the drivers needed. You'll be asked to choose which drivers you want to install. Be sure to select the driver for Xperia Sola, driver for flash mode and driver for fastboot mode.
Next time, your phone will be detected, and you'll be able to use the flashing possibilities of Flashtool.

Re: [Q] [Live With Walkman] Can't get flashtool fastboot to work (Windows 8)
That's a win 8 issue, u need to disable driver signature enforcement and then reinstall the drivers, I will copy the steps in a jiffy.

Go to Charms bar > Settings > General > Advanced Startup > Restart Now
Wait till a menu appears
Click Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup settings > Restart
After that you will be presented with a menu. The 7th option is "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement"
Press number 7 or F7 to continue booting to Windows 8 with digital signature enforcement disabled.
Now you can install fastboot drivers

[Q] Install Fastboot Driver to flash kernel

Hello everyone.
I am trying to flash my Xperia Mini Pro to a current 4.1 CM ROM.
I am using this howto: https://sites.google.com/site/projectfreexperia/download/howto-install
But i am stuck at step 3 because I cannot get a driver installed.
I've tried the following:
Installed flashtool and ALL drivers from flashtool-drivers.exe
Installed Google USB Drivers
Tried to install Google USB Drivers with modified .inf file. Install failed
Installed SUS
Installed PC Companion
Still, after all that effort, my PC shows my connected phone (in fastboot mode) as "Sony Fastboot Interface" and Flashtool says "Device not found".
I am currently running a CM 2.3.3 on my phone, so it is definately rooted.
How can I get the correct fastboot driver installed?
My OS is Windows 8 Pro 64bit
Thanks in advance,
McFarlane
For win 8 u need to disable driver signature verification.
Go to charms, settings, general, advanced startup, restart now
Then click troubleshoot, advanced options, startup settings, restart
Then choose 7th option using f7 or 7
Don't forget to hit thanks

Delete, (sorry)

Can't connect xperia mini to PC

I cant connect my xperia mini to PC in any mode. windows displays 'device not recognized' error. though all my drivers including fastboot and ADB are set up perrfectly. Phone shows green and blue LED when connected in flashmode and fastboot mode but still nor recognized by windows. Device manager shows Error code: 43
please help.
Download flashtool, go to the installation folder -> drivers and install all drivers for all devices/modes. If this won't work install PC Companion or Sony Update Service, they should install the drivers automatically
Will Work!

This method is VALID. Just install drivers from flash tool folder. It'll work!
I already mentioned I had all drivers.
Turns out it was a USB cable problem. got a new USB. fixed.
