As the title says, I cannot get my LG G6 to boot into twrp. Whenever I do the button combination to get into it, I get the screen prompting me to do a factory reset or whatever and when it's done it boots straight back into the OS and the second time I do it, it asks me the same thing but this time it displays the TWRP screen for a few seconds and reboots into a factory reset OS. Any ideas what might be causing this? Thanks.

Today my phone was bring finnicky and locking up, so I restarted it. Lo and behold the thing won't even boot. I don't even get a boot animation. I get a flash of LG for half a second and then blackness. Couldn't boot into recovery, so instead I booted into download mode and LGNPST back to JB stock. Now it won't boot past the AT&T logo. I see LG, AT&T, hear the little jingle, and then the screen stays the same. When I power the phone off it auto powers itself back up and tries to boot again. Endless cycle.
Anyone have any idea what's going on or how to fix it? I'm lost at this point and fear that I may have inadvertently bricked my phone. Really can't afford a new one...
You could try factory reset from stock recovery. The button combo is volume down plus power. There will be a menu screen if you get it to work.
Went in to AT&T support and that's what the guy did. It worked. Thanks, wish I had seen this post before making that drive.
This morning out of the blue my stock verizon LG G5 rebooted, and has been stuck in a boot loop ever since - pops up to the LG logo screen for seven seconds, goes black for one, then back to the LG screen, ad infinitum. I CAN get it to boot to recovery (Power+Vol Down) but none of the selections make a difference - even selecting Factory Reset and Yes simply results in the device sitting on the Yes screen for a moment or two, then... back to the LG logo screen for seven and rebooting, over and over.
Is there anything else I can try, or did my phone self-brick?
If it's not the infamous LG Boot-loop then you can try flashing stock rom through LGUP or LG Flash Tool.
Was trying a factory reset with the idea that I'd give my Tab s3 to my wife upon receiving my S4.
The s3 was rooted but had the stock ROM.
I booted into recovery (TWRP) and did a wipe to factory reset. I had used TWRP a lot and didn't take my time. Just as I was moving the slider i read something like "sure you want to do this you have no OS installed." Too late.
Now it is stuck on the splash screen. I can't even turn it off.
Thoughts?
Thanks

You can either flash stock firmware from download mode (vol down+home+power). You can force reboot with this combination even if it's stuck at samsung logo (after screen gets dark, keep pressing them to get to download mode). Then you can flash with Odin a stock samsung firmware.
The other option is to use this rom https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-s3/development/rom-sm-t820-tweaked-t3659433.
Copy it to the microsd, boot to recovery (in this case you have to use the same 3 button combination, but as soon as the screen goes off, you leave the vol down and press vol up along home and power buttons.
That would take you to TWRP and then you could flash that rom.
The first option is the natural one but both should work.
Also, for the second option you need the actual bootloader to match the custom rom.
So if you're in Nougat, flash the Nougat rom. The same for Oreo.
Thanks. Worked perfectly.
Hi all,
To get right to the point, my phone doesn't switch on, and I cannot get into recovery/download mode.
The story:
After my apps kept on crashing for no reason, I restarted the phone. After the restart, when it asked my pin, the google app kept on crashing and the phone completely froze up.
Here is where I suspect I made a HUGE mistake. I Took out the battery and started up the phone again. It immediately told me that the system is corrupt and "cannot be trusted".
I continue the boot process, only to land in a boot loop. I take out the battery once again and restart the phone.
After displaying the LG logo, it just turned off. And that was the last time I could get it on.
I tried booting into recovery, but the phone won't even switch on to begin with.
Absolutely no response. Screen stays pitch black.
I tried doing it with the USB cable in, same result. Nothing.
I also read up on the different combinations to get into download mode to no avail.
Stock ROM and firmware installed, no mods whatsoever.
Android 8.0
Can anyone please suggest anything I can do to save my device?
Hi,
I have Ls 990 rooted, twrp 2.8 with bump, cloudy rom2.5.
I was trying to get gsm bands working as this is a cdma phone with Sprint.
I was connected to usb, QPST server, and QXDM PRO at the time reading nv values etc.
I stopped working on it for awhile. Then came back. Read some more on my google. I wanted to see what cell connections I was getting related to the band and frequency. So I thought I would go into hidden menu. The phone was still connected to the usb but I don’t think this matters (?). I tapped on “device test”. It says AAT must start. I tap “ok”. The phone reboots but then gets stuck in the lg logo mode. I try to reboot again by holding down the power button to try and get into the hidden menu “mini OS” but it will never come up. I know others have gotten stuck here but the mini OS window pops up allowing them to reboot in “normal mode” but mine never gets there.
So I booted into twrp recovery and did a restore to my recent backup with a reboot but still stuck on lg logo. So I went back and wiped dalvik cache, cache and did a restore of same most recent restore point. Same thing with reboot it gets hung up on the lg logo forever.
I know there is a way to fix this, I just need some help or ideas to try.
Thank you.
Must be a way. Please help.
Thanks.
Solved. Had to do a factory rom flash with lg flash tool. Then stump, twrp bump, supersu, cloudy.
Back to where I was but learned even more now. Need to unlock the bands through QXDM. If there’s someone that’s done this I’d appreciate help.
Thanks.
Ps...interestingly once I rebooted after the factory rom flash the mini os window with AAT opened and allowed me to press power button and select normal reboot. It got hung up on AAT and caused this boot loop. Crazy.
