Anyway to bypass the bootloader unlock waiting? - Xiaomi Poco F1 Questions & Answers

I just got my poco f1, cant live without root. Read here that using the mi unlock tool lets you unlock immediately, but nope! I got a 72 hours timer... I read elsewhere that using a developer rom will let you unlock immediately, tried it using official developer rom but the counter is still going. Anyway to bypass this? I am thinking I could try to use different mi account, but I cant find how to remove it from being registered to the one I am using now.
I am excited to start using it, shame it has to stay in drawer. I don't want to have to set it up again in 3 days....
Thanks for any help in advance.

nopes. be glad it's 3 days and not 2 months.

why buy it from orange when three sells it cheaper and unlocked
Hi guys,
My friend can send (Austria) me this phone but is sim locked.
Is there good way unlock the phone?
Docomo unlocks at point of purchase for a fee.
Check provider to see if they will also.
I'm buying from a friend, so it will be locked to O2, what's the easiest/cheapest way to have it unlocked?
Thanks.
O2 send the unlock code free of charge on request, it took 17 days for mine to arrive but no questions asked and it worked.
Ok, cool. Do you just call them up? Or pop in one of their shops?

Andy O2 models of the phone have a bootloader that's locked and it's not unlockable yet. You testing just using the phone or you considering to hack it?
At the end of it all, I'll be reviewing it. I did want to put ICS on it though. About 15 minutes ago I've seen the bootloader of this can't be unlocked though
Nothing that can be done?
**EDIT** Sorry, silly me, you've said not unlockable yet Thanks.

One thing you can do though is to use the flash tool to flash the latest update..73 has had positive results in improving battery
I think it is already .73
**EDIT** It's not, downloading the update now.

How can we do this?
I've been reading all over trying to figure it out!
Also, I'm guessing T-Mobile would try to charge for Unlocking the phone?

Believe so. When I boot up it has the T-Mobile logo.
I'm having real issues with lag and Xperia Activity Home force closing and the phone completely locking up, so I'm hoping I can stick .73 on it.

What true is it!!!

I just got another mega, this time I got a Att version. I spoke with a customer service rep. and got my unlocked code bcuz I purchased full price, I ask her about bloats ect ect. Ok this is what she told me, once I have unlocked my phone I have full control of my phone.. Hmmm really? I dont know if she knew what i was talking about.. then I ask about secure bootlock portion of the phone, she reply once your unlocked you could do what ever you want...:what:
I have the unlocked code, how would i unlock the darn thing? every phone is different ways to do it.
I want to know if its true or not that once unlocked we can do what ever including custom rom...

What I think you got from her was the network unlock code, all that does is allow you to move to another provider using the same phone.
So whats the difference between network unlock and phone unlock?

Network unlock is as above ^, the bootlock you mentioned in your first post is there to stop you removing their software, it's not something that you can change with a code. You need to remove the boot lock before you can replace the os with a custom one. Before you attempt to do anything like this I advise reading up on it, you don't want to brick another phone. The information is easily found by using google search.
Roger that..lol yeap I dont want to do that again..

Odds are you won't be able to unlock unless someone creates a new method.
Alright, once i have been unlocking bootloader on p760 and i was succesful from first try. But i did this after i've reflashed kdz threw lg support tool, because i,ve got security alert. I wanted to flash cyanogen mod, and after flashing, i've got security alert. so i reflashed kdz with support tool and after that i succesful unlocked bootloader by adb unlock. so i'm wondering.. maybe we need first to get security error, when fix it and after that try to unlcok? anyone, who got unlocked, have you ever got security error before?

Will I be able to unlock the bootloader after 360hrs?

Hello everyone,
I've been reading different guides the community has posted but they seem a little outdated or maybe I'm ignoring something.
For example, will I be able to unlock the bootloader after 360hr? How can I know I've reached that time? I tried today, so I will kind of know when that happens, but not exactly when.
Another question would be, is there any new way to unlock the bootloader without having to wait for 360hrs? For example, like flashing the Dev ROM and then trying the unlocking process without binding the account to the device.
I'll appreciate any kind of help.
Thanks in advance.

I got the wait too, but just rebooted the phone, logged out of the miui account, logged back in with another miui account I have, did not bind the account, rebooted back to bootloader and it unlocked with the new account. You may have to try a couple different accounts, but eventually, it works and you don't have to wait. Once it's unlocked, just log out and log back into the correct miui account. There's a thread about how to do this already. Not sure if it works for all builds, but worth a shot.

Nice! And Xiaomi unlock does not wipe user data so that's a plus too. No starting over.

No OEM unlock option in T-Mobile Samsung S9+?

I have a T-Mobile s9+ and for the life of me, I cannot get the OEM unlock button to show in Dev options. I've had my phone for over the 7 days, as I saw you need. I've even tried doing the "change the date manually and restart" trick and no luck.
Is there no option for the T-Mobile version of this phone and it's already OEM unlocked? Can I just go ahead and root my phone without issue? Or do I need to get that button before I can go ahead and root/install a new rom?
If you have the G965U, no you will not be able to unlock the boot loader.. My oppinon, is when all manufactures were done stealing ideas from dev's live here on XDA.. They decided they did not need them anymore and locked the phones down.

You can root, but it comes with big downsides. Search for Extreme Syndicate S9 root here in XDA and you can read all about it.

You can install GSI, but they have the same downsides that the default oreo root ROM included has, if not more. I'm on 10 too lol. I tested it, played around with it then went back to stock. It was neat.

I mean the good thing about this method is that it doesn't unlock bootloader, so it doesn't trip knox. The bad thing about not unlocking bootloader is that you can't install custom kernels or recoveries.
