Guys i am coming from Nexus 5 and pretty much used to google feed as my daily news driver. However, i do not seem to find a way to get it show up on my app vault (left drawer). I understand i can open Google app and see my feed but was wondering if there is a way to have it on left swipe like its available on stock android?
Also, anyone able to install and use RootlessPixel launcher on their Poco F1? I tried but could not get the intended UI as shown in youtube videos for other phones.

Iv'e used nova launcher for a while and I love it.
there is only one feature I feel missing, the google app in the left page (like in google now launcher).
I was able to have the same thing using the home button to open google now in gestures and inputs.
Is there any way to maybe change swipe right to google now like you can do with swipe up?

So, I was looking for a decent budget phone to act as a backup for my PXL 2XL. Was eying the red 6 GB, 128 GB for long and just got it yesterday.
Installed a P Launcher, and till now all looks good.
However, for the life of me, I am not able to turn on the google feed? I did go into the google app, and set "Yes" to the Show Feed option. But, nothing happens on the home screen.
What am I missing?
Which launcher are you using?
Try searching for rootless pixel launcher on XDA or ruthless launcher (non pixel)
You can use Lawnchair along with Lawnfeed from the Play Store. No root needed

I will suggest smart launcher 5 it helps to keep icons near your thumb and fingers so that u need not to jump to top of the big screen again and again

The New Hyperion Launcher Pro it is. it´s from the substratum devs, has all i need looks great and has awsome customization!
and with the hyperion dock addon you get google feed on the left side swipe. it has a beta tree and updates come constantly.
I like this Launcher more then Nova Pro and i used nova launcher quite long maybe 4 years. try it out guys, y´all have nothing to loose it has a free version too!

How to set a permanent launcher so that it does not change on the vivo launcher ?
I was previously using Yandex launcher and will say it is best but recently switched to smart launcher bcz for larger screens it makes easy to show icons/options towards lower portion so easy to click using thumb.

You need to get a vivo account which requires a chinese phone number you can get at onlinesim.ru/en for a few cents (paypal possible). After adding the vivo account in the account menu in settings you can activate "allow the launcher to be replaced" in more settings / security and then change it at security / device manager and reboot.
But I don't know if this is necessary in the global version... Does anyone know?

No, this procedure is not required for the global version.
You can replace the stock launcher without any problem.

I installed the rootless pixel launcher from the play store and it only worked for a few hours and now will not load? I have the Global version of Nex S.
Update: After deleting and reinstalling and rebooting it seems to be holding fine.
Any idea if there is a hack to add Google Feed to the launcher?

None yet that I'm aware of and as far as I know an alternate launcher won't work properly, best guess not from experience. If I get a chance I'll try to run Lawnchair and report back.

Lawnchair works and can give you Google news feed on the left end like you want. It's just a bit wonky switching between "postures." I went back to the Microsoft launcher for now and just put a shortcut to Google app and it works the same as the news feed on the left end.

thank you played around with it a bit still tweaking it, also using Google news feed app, just not liking the MS feed.
Hi there － I have recently purchased the MiPad5pro and have a few questions about the tablet and MiUi in general as this is my first Xiaomi device. I'm running the latest available version for MiUi for the pad5pro in China.
1. Has anyone been able to get Novalauncher to work? I get an error saying only those launchers verified by Xiaomi are allowed. Is that a miui issue or a miui for pad issue? Any other launchers recommended? I use Oneplus for my phone and have it set up with novalauncher that allows me to have the google shelf when swiping to the left from the home screen. I'd love to have that feature on my mipad.
2. is there a way to natively translate text on the screen? For eg: ColorOs has a built in screen translater that allows you to translate any part of the screen or the entire screen. Anything similar available for miui natively？or any apps that you'd recommend that aren't loaded with ads?
3. without root, is there a way to remove miAI and make Google assistant the default assistant app and get it to work in all the apps?for example, the miui clock app has a mic option for assistant but it triggers miai even though I have set Google assistant as my default ai app. Also, every time the tab is restarted, it defaults to miai as the default ai app instead of the previously set Google assistant.
Happy to answer any questions anyone might have if they are looking at buying this tablet.

1. You can choose Nova as your default launcher. But you have to do so from Nova, not MIUI settings.

Thanks. I don't hate the MiUi, it serves my purposes, just hoping to get a few of these issues fixed.
Was able to get Nova sorted like you mentioned, but Nova didn't work too well as it doesn't fully move to landscape mode.
#2 is the one I need most, so hopefully if someone else has an app they can recommend. It is not just about a picture, but about text in any app. Hoping for a 3rd party app that can be used that doesn't have a bunch of ads every time you use it.
I removed MiAi using this method along with some other Chinese language apps
It seems safe and you can re install or re enable the apps of you have any problems.

I have the solution to 3.
Without root, it's just a matter of getting the permissions correct.
Xiaomi has a privacy setting in the Google permissions that grants the permissions without confirming with google. That's why you can't get the default assistant to stick.
This will fix it. Give google always allow on device info inside the Google app, not assistant app.
