if android Pie, i prefer Havoc OS 2.0.
if android Nougat, i prefer Lineages OS 14.1.
Oreo Roms are not recommended.
Highest battery backup is Nougat, follow by Pie, and then Oreo. Thanks
better use nougat roms or pie
oreo was the worst battery ever
My almost dead battery gets 7 hours sot on pie, while I got only 3 out of oreo.
liquid remix 10 is what I am using, almost no bugs
ported miui is good, but heats alot and sometimes lags with random reboots

I am buying a new phone and I am not sure whether to get the note 4 with its bigger battery and install a custom rom on it (I can never use miui) or just get the A1 shipped with the vanilla android, are rn4's custom roms stable and smooth or the builds are not that good? Will the A1 be faster than rn4 with lineage or rrn for example? I like RN4 more because of the bigger battery, I don't mind the camera at all.
I also knew there are some rn4s that have mic issues as well as dead pixels, is that true?
if for custom roms for mido then most of them are stable and can be used as daily driver. And about the dead pixels i think it is true as my phone too some. I think it is the problem with mido bought from flipkart. So you can buy from mi.com.

What about the in call mic in custom roms? I know they did fix the issue with latest versions of miui, by tweaking the noise cancelation algorithm, is that present on custom roms?

i didnt experience any problem with call mic in custom roms. It works fine.
and what about a signal drop when phone is charging and being heated up in custom roms?
If you like the looks of a1 go with that, else RN4 checks every box with a custom ROM. Even camera is far better with the Google camera.
Also performance is silky smooth , I am using Paranoid Android 7.3 currently, everything works fine and battery life is also good.

I like the RN4 more because of the bigger battery but what frightens me most actually is the in call mic problems, I saw thousands of people complaining about it on forums, if my unit happens to be affected, do custom roms solve it or I will have to stick on miui newest version because it has the noise cancellation disabled?
Go with A1. A1 battery is good. You won't regret
Look, am not sure about mi a1 when it comes to development due to its A/B partition and etc stuffs. You won't see much development I guess.
If you look properly there has been a port of mi a1 stock Rom for redmi note 4 snapdragon variant just posted. It's been confirmed by Xiaomi on its Mi a1 launch event that mi a1 will get official oOreo by end of this year. So, choice is yours. If you want stock with latest otas everytime then mi a1, if youre a custom Roms lover then mido.
Hi there, i've a rn3 (snapdragon, 3Gb ram) and I'm currently using MIUI but I'd like to try some new roms also to try fixing a WiFi signal issue. I need your help since I'm not very informed about them [emoji28]. I'm looking for a stable, quite frequently updated and quite customizable *rom with a good battery usage (now on miui I'm around 1.5-2 days of usage). Is it better to chose nuogat or Oreo based ones? Can you suggest me some roms and maybe also kernels to try?
Thanks in advantage

Frequent updates: Oreo roms (as nougat roms somehow don't get updated anymore)
Good Battery usage: Nougat roms (not sure about oreo roms. I'm getting 8h SOT on ABC oreo tho)
Stability: Nougat roms
Customization: Any rom will do I think. Yet Resurrection Remix, NOS and AEX are known to have good customization options (on both android versions)
Now make up your mind
Just go for Nitrogen OS 8.1 oreo. Best in Performance, Best in SOT. and awesome rom for Daily driver.

which build man?
Most, if not all Oreo ROMs drain battery when idle. Sure, they can make good SOT on intense day to day usage, but if you use one battery charge for 1.5 days or more, you probably won't find Oreo builds practical because of the bad standby battery usage.

In matter of this, they're fine. You can go with the one packed with the features you prefer. I've been satisfied with official Lineage. I also have the impression AOSP Extended 5.5 has good reputation and I'm going to try it right now.

Obeviously The latest build man 17/05/2018 OReo build.
I'm a Kenzo noob so I cannot give you much in the way of advice, although that said, Resurrection Remix and AOSPExtended are great on the customisation front, but LineageOS and Pixel Experience are the best bet in terms of just getting your phone up and running on a custom firmware front, with the latter having the advantage of not requiring a separate Google Apps package as it is built into the firmware.
I'm currently rocking the Pixel Experience Oreo firmware, and battery life averages around 8-10 hours on frequent YouTube/Spotify/Chrome/Opera use, which is better than the LG G4, another device I own as of the time of writing, which is neck-and-neck with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 in terms of performance.
Good afternoon all the roms that I try to get me between 4 or 4 and a half hours of battery.
Could you recommend some oreo or pie rom that had a longer battery life?
Thanks[emoji3578][emoji3578]

Could someone also suggest the ROM + Kernel + battery screenshots... that'd be helpful.

Tried oreo and pie roms same sot and no benefits to going on pie or oreo so i back to Aex 7.1.2
Currently using MIUI 10 Oreo sGSI with Agni Kernel.
Screen time around 5:30 hours, no bugs affecting my experience at all (only screen flickering when changing screen brightness
Tried MIUIPro Mixmod right before this and had around 6h of screen on time, just changed to Oreo because I use the Google camera a lot.
Hi, i couldn't see a survey or something like that. I see few popular rom and now i use Havoc but i'm not glad of it, i'm thinking about tho change my rom but i'm not sure which is the best or stabil rom.
Any suggestion?
Been running Mokee on both my Mi Pad 4 and 4 Plus for a year now, no issues, I OTA update them about once a month. Everything works great including encryption. Battery life is excellent, low battery drain on idle.
Hey brother,
Can frequent ROM users please throw some light on. their expeirence with OOS port ROMS vs AOSP/LOS/Pixel ROMS.
1 opinion is that OOS ROMs are very smooth as seen on Oneplus Phones.
2nd opinion is that, OOS is a ported ROM and with developers working actively on AOSP/Pixel/LOS roms they are better than ported OOS ROMS.
what do you think?
I need a ROM on which i can settle down.
Need a good stable and smooth rom... need calll recording too....
I felt that with LOS based and AOSP based roms, they tend to stutter and lag after a few weeks..
especially noticed that while using gesture navigation.. for a few days it works well byut after that, the app switching glitches and single swipes dont work well. they tend to over fling to several apps past the most recent.
Currently I am trying OOS Stay the **** home edition...
I don't use gesture based navigation so I can't comment on that but I found crDroid to be as fast months later as on day one. I stayed with crDroid 5.9 for 4 months and currently on crDroid 6.4 for 2.5 months.

No I have only used crDroid till date. It had all the features I needed. Lots of customization, excellent battery backup, solid performance, very stable and practically bug-free, smooth UI. Tried PUBG 2-3 times and it ran fluidly. Not a mobile gamer though.
Only complaint in AOSP ROMs is that Hotspot is limited to Wifi N 144Mbps even in 5GHz band mode. In MIUI and other ROMs based on it the full 867Mbps Wifi AC is utillised. This was true in Pie ROMs as well.

Can't stand MIUI. Thinking of giving OOS a try.
Everyones need is different. OOS port ia really really good and stable. Doesn't feel like a port at all. But cannot use substratum. With Oxygen os.
I hardly use miui. Ads turns me off.
Evox, pixel experience are my choices wrt aosp. Nitrogen OS and unofficial aospa arr also good.
I almost flash rom everyday or once in two days.. ?
