Team Win Recovery Project is a custom recovery for Android devices.
It allows you to back up and restore your data, flash custom ROMs to your device, repair broken file systems, and root your device.

This is TWRP 3.0.2-0 originally done by @ashyx for SM-A500, then ported to SM-J510 using stock kernel from stock SM-J510F recovery with complete /sbin/* replacement from older SM-J500 because device doesn't like flashing bigger than 13 MBs to the recovery partition or you would end in a recovery bootloop.
Disclaimer: Flashing this gon' trip knox & you lose your (device's) warranty.

I flashed this SuperSU in system-less mode & I was rooted with no (visible) issues. Anything else like backing up, I did try only kernel and it worked.
Recommended Installation Flow:
Flash TWRP via ODIN
Reboot to Recovery (TWRP)
Flash latest SuperSU zip (anything > 2.46)

it did not work i tried to flash it 2 times but i only get the one that is already installed 3.0.2-8

Installation instructions
1.) Boot into recovery and make a nandroid backup.
2.) Wipe everything except internal storage.
3.) Flash ROM and Gapps(optional).
4.) Boot into system and enable developer settings.
5.) Reboot into recovery and root with Magisk.
6.) Reboot into system and enable Gboard in settings.
Disclaimer: download provider not functioning 100%. Apks from Google Play store will not download. Downloads from the internet will. As thread title says WIP, experimental build!!

i love this rom , i installed and used it for two days and i unstalled due to cant download from any website, cant use play store or cant download from playstore otherwise it is smooth rom with many features, i dont know wheather the rom developer overcome these issues in next build. i know you have clearly mentioned 100% download provider will not work.

Even if there was no ROM, you can easily flash magisk to get root with this recovery. Because before this recovery it was little bit confusing and hard for some people to root.
Hi, bootloader unlocked recovery installed, please which steps I'll have to do for installing Magisk? Please 1) 2) etc. I received error signature from update from sd where was Magisk 20.4, so please help me i'm in trouble with this Los recovery, i usually use twrp or orange Fox thx

I just got the s10 and I rooted a little different. I first unlocked bootloader. Than I flashed the G770FXXS3CTI1 BTU. Loaded it up developer options I load it all up and reformat about 3 times through this. Turn off check apps usb adb option.
Than I flashed the dbmeta dummy file with odin and than I flash TWRP recovery and format wipe yes, flash samsung disabler and than just flash magisk v21.1 you dont have to patch boot img magisk will patch your bootimg when you flash it. Now magisk will be loaded on your home screen when you reboot and than you finish installing. Gotta have 21.1 canary version. Thats a lot eaiser than all the other steps. Good luck.

TWRP built for the 2016 Moto G4 Play. It should work fine, but using it is a try at your own risk procedure. Your bootloader must be unlocked to use this recovery. Fastboot mode is used to flash or boot this recovery.

This seemed cool but then when I had flashed it I couldn't flash the MalluOS2.0 rom. Got some error saying it couldn't replace whatever with a newer version. Reflashed the older 3.2.3-r1 version and the rom installed no problem.
Version 3.5.1 has been released, but it's a bit too big to fit on the recovery partition of my phone. Unfortunately, the TWRP app doesn't seem able to figure that out before trying to flash, so I ended up with a corrupt recovery. Trying to flash from adb (before I realised what was going on) at least aborted with a "too large for partition" message. Reflashed 3.5.0 from adb and all was well again.
3.5.1 seems to work fine if launched from fastboot with fastboot boot TWRP-<version>.img

I've installed version 3.5.2 and everything I've tried so far is working.
It looks also as though 3.5.1 has been recompiled to bring it below the maximum size of the recovery partition.
