Hi, i am looking for a rom recommendation that is similar to MIUI, Baidu, lewa, hopefully running 4.4 and have great battery life!

I see a lot of people complaining about poor battery life all the time. While i know this is very subjective and will always vary person to person, however, there are some basics i can tell are missing and many things are not understood by the types of posts I am seeing. So here I'm asking you guys before i spend hours writing a fairly extensive guide. Would you be interested in a guide that explains a bit about how the battery can be drained so fast, some of the main offenders, an explanation of the infamous google services drain, and some other info that can help you extend your battery life.

I'm surprised I couldn't find any thread about this.
Considering I expect greatest performance and stability of the ROM. I don't care about themes, cool icons, or animations.
Instead I want ROM that will allow a tech-savy person to be satisfied with his device.
What would you recommend?
Second question is would you recommend Marshmallow or Nougat? I've read Nougat is slower: youtube.com/watch?v=_a7AC2UXpYg - Is that still relevant?
PS This is my first post on xda. I've been using forum for a while, already flashed my previous phone and I'm very happy to officially join xda community now
