Hello,
Does anyone know where to buy an extra original headphone usb-c adapter ?
I tried some other ones, and apparently only the original one works for this phone...
Best regards
Dennis

Hi,
Does anyone on this forum use their Z2 over MHL?
I was wondering what MHL Cable / Adaptor you would recomend.
I have seen a Sony one, but is is very expensive (£30).
I was wondering what the thoughts on the cheaper ones were.
Thanks
in Advance.
Anyone got any recommendations for this? I too am interested.
Bought this from Maplin today ( for us with my HTC one. Tablet Z and Z2 ) so will report back when I've had time to test

Bought MHL 2.0 11 pin adapter today-didn't work. I'll try 5 pin tomorrow.

Sorry forgot to post back ( on holiday ). The maplin cable works like a dream but requires power if your tv isn't mhl compliant

I bought two adapters now and will test, but how new does a television have to be to be mhl compatible? Leaving on holiday tomorrow and would like to use my Xperia2 on the TV in the room, any good guesses on if that's a longshot?

I bought this:
amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00CI42C4S/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i02?ie=UTF8&psc=1
which works perfectly but on my TV requires a separate power source for the MHL.
I've been using a Rocketfish MHL adapter for the appradio in the wifey's car until I can get an adequate mirrorcast dongle.
I haven't had any issues with it. It also comes with a 11 pin adapter for newer Samsung devices.
The Samsung branded 5 pin MHL adapters should also work and be found in stores(they had them at my local Bestbuy along with the Rocketfish I bought).
I'm not sure exactly what you're looking to do, but maybe some sort of cast dongle might be a better option.
For streaming I like using chromecast best(there's 3rd party ones that support chromecast/mirrorcast/DLNA/airplay in one unit). The user experience is much nicer with chromecast but you're limited to using apps with cast icons and a wireless network(mirrorcast/dnla don't require this).
For screen mirroring a straight HDMI cable works best but not even Motorola puts HDMI ports on their devices anymore. MHL adapters work for the most part just as well but can have more failure points and compatibility issues. I haven't tried mirrorlink yet(I do have a new appradio that supports mirrorlink as well as HDMI but it's still in the box) but from what I under stand it's not as fast as HDMI and may give noticeable lag.

Bought chromecast, and it gets the job done with rooted device.

got one from amazon (brand: Cable Matters),.... ordered a 11-pin by accident,... and obviously that didn't work,..
so i ordered the 5-pin version and it worked just find,.... but it does need to be powered with the micro USB for it to work
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B006V6N9NM/ref=twister_B00JXUCVXC
does anyone know if there's an MHL adapter that doesn't require to be plugged in the wall outlet????
The only place I could find the adapter USB C to 3.5mm is at HTC US website and it's on ''pre-order'' for days, so where can you find it?
Of course I am searching for the HTC one

Check Amazon or eBay. Someone might be reselling theirs. You probably will have to buy it from a regular person, though.

Probably until the release of the next HTC phone...which will be USB-C...in which case, the adapter will be sold out again...
In stock in the UK...I just bought a spare after I realised how good it is with UAPP!
I mean if you get super desperate I'd be happy to post you one at cost?
UK price is £9.90 + whatever it costs to post to 'Murica...
In stock on the french HTC site, 12.90€.
But there are many adapters usb-c > jack 3.5 on Amazon, but not the official one. Only the official one works ?

Yes, because it has a DAC/AMP built in apparently. I just bought a spare from the UK store, it works on other devices. Works on OP3 and my Dell tablet PC.
I hope others make something as small and compact, when you output to DAC via UAPP the listening experience is much better!
When I have some cash to burn I'll be buying some nicer in ears.
Anybody find a place in the US that sells the adapters besides htc.com? They've been out of stock for a while now.
holy moly, HTC charges 21,60€ shipping fee. WTF?
With the release of the Pixel 2, looks like google is selling a usb-c to 3.5mm adapter as an accessory:
https://store.google.com/product/usb_c_headphone_adapter
Maybe this will work with the u11? Anyone want to take one for the team and see if it works? =D
Hello I just bought an HTC U11 secondhand and it didn't have the USB C adapter. I need one where in the heck can I get one? HTC needs to step up their game why take away the 3.5mm jjack and not ever have stock of the adapters. Please anyone point me in the direction where I can find one thanks!

As I mentioned in my post above, Google is now selling an adapter for the pixel 2. I reached out to Google support and they said that it includes a DAC/Amp, just like the one that HTC was selling. Maybe try ordering that and see if it works?

Actually I'm gonna hold off because I went to order and it said delivery November 17...thats a while.
Well the good news is the Google ones are only $9 now with free shipping, they were listed as $20 originally!! I'll definitely order once they are availible and let everyone know. I can't believe HTC doesn't keep stock in the US of something so important to their phone.
Works with HTC 10, so probably should work with u11

I asked HTC directly and this was their answer:
We understand you are looking to buy a USB Type-C Adapter and it's currently unavailable from the HTC website. Regrettably, we don't have an ETA for it to give out.
Have you tried checking with your local network provider store?
As for the recommended adapters, we are very sorry but we can't recommend any third-party adapters as these are non-HTC products and we can't guarantee it'll work 100%.
Pretty pathetic by HTC considering they're about to release more phones without headphone jack. Only thing saving me is the little Bluetooth adapters off Amazon. And another hope is the Google pixel jack that supposedly has a DAC built-in. They're not available yet though.
I ordered the Moshi adapter yesterday that also allows usb c charging. Hopefully it works!

Great can you let this thread know if it does work?
Hi guys,
I've got to work today and found I've not brought my bundled USB-C - 3.5mm Headphone adapter with me. I'm thinking it's probably a good idea to get a spare or two.
Looking around it seems that not all types are compatible with all phones.
Can anyone confirm if an adapter compatible with other Huawei phones e.g. P20 will work with Mediapad M5?
I'm thinking of something like:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Headphone-Adapter-TriLink-Huawei-Black/dp/B077FJKZMM/
Thanks for any advice!
The one I bought for my M5 8.4 was https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/USB-C-Ty...cd803a66b:m:mTROBXmtYcyehHK4G3vWF6A:rk:1:pf:0
Only used it a couple of times, but seems solid enough.

This works great if you're wanting something that sounds a bit better than stock.
Pixel 2XL USB C to 3.5mm Audio Adapter,Hi-Res DAC Chip Headphone Jack CONMDEX Type C to 3.5 Converter Compatible Google Pixel 2 Pixel 2 XL HTC U11 Essential PH-1 Phone Razer Phone https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DXP213B/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_KywBCb00FQQAK
This one works fine, and you can charge at the same time, but it disables quick-charge (must only connect the + and - connections and not the ones used for data).
The M5 supports analog audio directly out of the USB C port, that is how the bundled USBC-3.5mm adapter works. I found that my bundled adapter makes clicking sounds if the usb connector wiggles at all.
I bought 3 of these adapters (only $1 each so I bought 3 incase any were duds) https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07KT2F7K7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1.
It works like the bundled adapter, it doesn't need a DAC chip as it takes the analog audio directly from the usbc port. It doesn't click like the huawei adapter, sound is excellent. 1 of 3 the connector case on the usb-c end slides off as if its not glued properly, the other 2 of 3 are perfect.
I also bought digital adapter with a built-in DAC chip, https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07MX553YX/ref=twister_B07KSSXZ8Q?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
It works fine, sound is excellent, it drains the battery a bit faster however so I choose to use the analog adapter.
Here is a link from my previous order in France. Works perfectly well

Hey all,
I just bought the Global Mi Mix 3 and it doesn't come with a case nor a USB-C to Aux adapter in the box like the Chinese models do. This is my first foray into USB dongles so I don't know a lot about them, does anyone have any recommendations on which ones provide the best quality sound? I did some Googling and couldn't find anything very useful, the few comparisons that were backed up with actual evidence went way over my head.
Is there any reason to buy the $25 Razer 2 adapter over the $14 Pixel 2 one, or even the $10 Apple one? A couple reviews say the Razer 2 adapter is the best but there's not much information as to why. Seems to be a trend with USB-C audio in general... is there any way to tell which adapters are compatible with the Mi Mix 3 short of buying a bunch and trying them out? I at least found out that phones other than Motorola and HTC require active adapters (ones with a chip inside that can draw power from the device), but does anyone know which brands/models are good quality?
WTF? Mine is a global Version and comes with a case with the same color of the phone (chinese always comes with a black version) and the USB-C Adapter
You could look into HIDIZS Sonata HD DAC II, (29.64 on aliexpress).
This supports PCM 192Khz 24Bit output.
The default output is trash no matter which dongle/cable you buy unless it has a dac in it.

Are you sure you didn't get the USB-C adapter? The area where the case, USB-C adapter and SIM card removal tool are is inside the insert that holds the wireless charger.

Yeah, mine came in a little pack with everything.
As for the adapter I recently brought: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32931814282.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.4fcf4c4dexN1zD.
I use a uGreen multi functional adapter for attaching usb memory sticks and HDMI cable for TV use with my G5. It works great apart from the picture breaks up on the TV from time to time mostly when playing video and curiously only when I have a sim inserted and active.
I'm wondering if the adaptor is somehow incompatible with my G5. I have 2 G5's and both have the same problem. When I use the adaptor with my V20 it works perfectly. Or maybe it's a kernel issue which might make it resolvable.
Has anyone had a similar issue and does anyone use any other brand of adaptor that doesn't have this issue?
edit: this is the one I use https://cf1.s3.souqcdn.com/item/2018/05/02/32/73/00/34/item_XL_32730034_131939745.jpg
