I haven't been able to find much on this topic. When connecting to WiFi I get disconnected with the error "Avoided poor internet connection". I'm unable to find a way to fix this, does anyone have any suggestions?

I can't be specific, as my device is absent.
But under wifi there is an option to connect to known wifi locations.
un-tick it
This wont effect your location as GPS and location settings are under a different option.

could be under battery/ power saving? Next to stamina mode?
I know there is a setting for it somewhere
closest i found is under battery but it's to enable wifi in specific locations. not to connect/not connect
Hello,
Best way if you don't want wifi: use the wifi toogle to ON / OFF
If you just to don't be connected auto, I know there is third party apps who do this, but I don't remenber names. Sorry.
Maybe this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2060418
Llama?
both of those seem to be enabling/disabling wifi/3g at specific times or locations.
i just want to disable the auto connect facility of wifi without disabling it so it can still detect the SSIDs whether i'm at home or out and about.

ok. so you want wifi enabled, but not to connect. sorry I thought you wanted it to stay disabled.
There is not setting in the Sony rom for that.
Check out Lords post. Llama is what you want.
yeah, nothing showing up in a google either. seems like a security oversight too.
Hmm, Tasker should do this? I have never used it, but people use it to turn their god damn TV and lights on and off (with additional hardware), so I think it should do this simple task(?). I don't know! Maybe someone here has it and can check if they can make a profile that does this.

Every so often I will pick up my phone and notice that my phone is using mobile data at the same time that my wifi is connected. I have noticed this off and on since day one but havent thought of asking if anyone else is experiencing this.
When I notice it, I disable wifi and re-enable it which usually takes care of the issue.
The problem is that I only get 3gb of data a month and when I am on wifi, I should not be using my mobile data.
Attached is a screenshot showing both 4G LTE and Wifi connected at the same time.
I couldn't begin to guess the cause of your problem but I think I can suggest a workaround.
Download Tasker and create a profile that disables mobile data when connected to certain wifi connections. Should help
Make sure your mobile data setting isn't on. Advanced Wi-Fi Settings.

Thanks swimm12984. I had thought about that as well
prp2: that's not a setting in Advanced Wifi
I'm thinking this is intentional. To be able to reliably do a WiFi to VoLTE or GSM handoff when using WiFi calling, for example, the phone needs to periodically maintain a connection with the mobile network. Otherwise, if you happen to lose wifi signal or walk out of signal range, your call will drop.
I noticed this on my Note 3 as well when I was using it on WiFi, but only after they issued an update to 'fix' wifi to volte/gsm handoff issues.
Try disabling VoLTE in your calling settings and see if it still occurs.

That actually makes sense. I had wifi-calling turned off but didn't think of turning VoLTE off as well. I will not be able to tell right away as it happened sporadically but I will comment back after a day or so.

Ah, in that case, I can almost guarantee that's what it is. If VoLTE is on, but wifi calling is off, then it will have to maintain it's connection to the data network for sure! Let us know how it goes, but I'm pretty confident

Your mobile data will also turn on while on WiFi if you're sending/receiving MMS with a third-party SMS app, like Textra. Those apps do not have access to WiFi Calling on the V10 so they must use mobile data for MMS.

You should be able to see the list of remembered networks in Settings->Wifi Settings on the watch. Scroll down the list and the option should pop up.

Thanks for the reply, but I did not want to change the settings but wanted remove a WiFi connection.
Since I am on BL, can not find a benefit for having it. Do not want it just seeking other WiFi signals.

The T-820 is wifi. Are you asking to use it to Tether to another device, or using it to connect to the Internet via your phone? If it's the latter, you go into wifi settings and select your phone to connect to. You can't use it to connect other wifi devices as the T-820 doesn't have a cellular connection.

sorry, I wasn't clear.
there's no mobile in my test setup.
right now I have the lg v20 connected to the router/adsl via wifi.
Next, I create and enable a wifi hotspot on the v20.
the tab s3 connects to the hotspot and, finally, to the internet.
conclusion: the v20 did not have to disable its wifi to launch the hotspot..
thanks
Maybe describe your use case. What are you planning to tether TO the tablet.
The LG has a tether option because it has a wireless chip. The Tab does not have such a chip.
Most android Wi-Fi hotspots will shut off the Wi-Fi radio and provide internet through your wireless carrier. It would be unusual (useless?) for a phone to share the Wi-Fi signal it's using.

My plan is to have an AP acting as an extender between the gateway and a wireless device beyond its reach or without a clear line of sight.
My testbed had the following setup:
router gateway )) (( lg v20 )) (( tab s3
Interesting, and I understand.

I tested succesfully the s8+ doing the same.
When using Share it to get pics from an iPhone (in the woods with no internet or Wi-Fi network) the SM T820 will not initialize a Hotspot. Is there a fix for this or an easy work around?
Hey developers anyone can help me for getting firmaware for my 5G router device model E6878-370 the required WEBUI 10.0.5.1(W11SP5C03) and firmware version 10.0.5.1(H610SP10C00)

im looking for that firmware version and i found it on Easy-firmware.com
the thing is
its protected by a paywall and might be a scam
so did u find the firmware somewhere else?

Can someone hack this firmware and stop it communicating with China's server? That's what they say in their agreement upon device setup. Also mobile network selection is locked to Auto only, this is annoying.

I am currently using that firmware, aside from unable to select network mode, did you happen to encounter loosing connection when wifi extender is turned off? My device seem to disconnect after few minutes if idle, but the problem is not occurring if the router is plugged to power or if the wifi extender function is turned on.

Disabling Sleep mode has no effect, or even setting it to 30 mins, before it reach that the router already unresponsive. Fiddling with my settings, turning on the wifi extender option is the only one keeping it active. And if i switch to using 5ghz band, a weird symbol appears. Something like a home symbol over the wifi signal.

Well, then you need to use recent official firmware, I don't have such problems there.
Where can I get one? I have tried all the firmwares listed in easy-firmware. And the sad thing with this, router prevents a firmware rollback. It fails to install unless its a higher version.
If you find a solution to this problem, I will be very grateful to you.I also can't figure out what the problem is, and no Internet helps me in this.
Today I turned this modem on and it updated itself, now wifi can work in 5Ghz. However, my carrier has blocked it's imei from using data.
Does anybody know how to change the imei on this modem? Maybe modified firmware?
