A little off topic but any inputs on upgrading from le max 2 to poco f1. I mean is it really an upgrade considering the FHD+ screen. Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks
Well, only the SD845 should be a big upgrade, consider as well the normal working fingerprint scanner, IR face unlock, stereo speakers, much bigger battery, and more. I would not even think too much.
Yep, seems like the natural upgrade. Though I'm still more than happy with my Max2. It's blazing fast enough, great camera, loads of Pie roms,
I dunno, poco have some display problems..
I did the upgrade recently, so I could share at least what was driving me to do the upgrade.
For about 18 or maybe more months I was owning X820 and ever since I have tried only few Roms. My final choice was RR.
It was more than enough for my day to day use, camera was excellent. Why I did the change :
1) Battery life - even do I have 20000mah power bank with QC 3.0, battery did not last a day even with light to moderate usage.
2) Got used to it and wanted a new toy.
Already use a Poco F1 for about a month (bought in on announcement day in Europe, originally from Spain).
Battery life is overwhelming compared to X820. It's a bit faster, but nothing that really affects the experience with the old X820.
Stock rom is much better than X820, but this one is easily fixable.
Downsides :
Android Auto does not work in current Poco F1 stock rom
Camera seems to be about average, daily pictures on X820 are better (good light conditions).
Overall it's a good phone, so if you want a change and think where to spend 300E go for it.
I like poco too, but it has lte bands locked for my country
Guys... it's worth buying this phone (le max 2 X821) for 130 usd??...

If it's new, then jump on it. I've enjoyed mine for about 18. Personally I'm gonna hold on to mine for a while yet.
I just placed the order, it costs 124$ for 64/4 x821, i hope it is not refubrished.
@onewithforce I have one question, can you see the notifications on status bar? Like WhatsApp or viber.
And about battery percent, can you see in status bar?
That big notch with lose of this functionality is the only thing that scares me :-/

Notifications are highly customizeable. Percentage can be seen in notification bar, it's not important feature for me and haven't checked if it can be enabled for home and locked screen.
Notch is fine, quickly get used to it.
Btw, Android Auto does not work properly, we have to wait for next release and have fingers crossed it would be solved.

I got this amazing offer on moto Z more than 50% off. Should i buy it. i read alot of reviews that battery life sucks or volte problem or Bluetooth or wifi problems i am just really confused. Should i just buy a mid tier phone with mid tier secs and forget the flagship of 2016.
I paid 400$ for it when I encountered a 50% reduction in August(it costs 800$ in Croatia) and I can tell you this:
If you don't care about battery life(which is logically not great since it's a 2650 mAh with a 1440p screen, but you do get a 5.2mm thin body),this phone can't be beaten by anything under 400$(I am the type of person who buys a phone and gets bored of it within a month, yet I still adore this device). The battery also charges from 0 to 100% in an hour and you can buy a battery mod if you really need a lot of juice on the go.
what other problems are you facing ?
how much screen on time are you getting ? are there any other problems ?

With a custom rom(and a full black theme) the on-screen time is a lot higher. Honestly, I don't count that much but I get through a regular day without issues(listen to music on my way to college, take a few pics here and there, go through the web, chat, play non-intensive games, listen to music on the way back). It definitely helps that the battery charges fast.
Agree with above, just got mine 1 week ago for similar price. Obviously still tinkering but my opinion so far :
- If you are okay with bad battery life (max 4 hours SoT with stock rom & careful usage for me), it's a definite buy with that price.
- Mediocre camera can be fixed by using Google Camera HDR+ port for Snapdragon 820. It is recently ported and we can hope for better port in the future.
- If you are afraid of AMOLED burn in, there are many options to prevent it. Personally, I am using Tiles + Edge Gesture for non-root user.
- Major drawback is battery life, it can be fixed to some extent with custom rom & full dark theme as mentioned above. Or, try to find bargain for battery power pack. But, I just found out that using power pack will cause Doze never kick in, so battery drain is high. Seems installing NapTime to force doze while charging did the trick for me but still testing.
At that price if you don't want it let us know where to get it. With the Turbo Power adding just $79 if you really want very long battery life or the $49 for a slim Power Pack for long battery life you still have a good deal. It's a way to charge your phone differently it might make you a Z fan. I think mods are awesome and the battery mod can prolong the life and health of the internal battery using efficiency mode.

Hey guys
Slowly it's time to replace my Oneplus 3T. Does anyone have any experience with the change to the Poco F1? Have you noticed any negative aspects and how happy are you?
I am interested in the camera, display, the advantages and disadvantages of MIUI against OOS, the speed and the battery life.
Thank you and a nice weekend

I switched from the OnePlus 5T so I hope this helps,
The camera is much better on the Poco F1, but the stock camera app is terrible. You can find the gcamera port here and it helps bring out the actual camera quality of the Poco F1.
The display is beautiful, as much as I miss the AMOLED display on the 5T, the one on Poco is still amazing.
MIUI took a bit of time to adjust to, but once you are used to it then it isn't all that bad. The one thing that annoys me is that fact that I can't use a live wallpaper on my lockscreen.
Speed is top notch. I use SD Maid once a week to cleanup the junk, reboot, and it feels like the first day I got it.
Battery is amazing. I commute to university 4 hours in total (there and back) and stay there for roughly 6/7 hours. My data, wifi, location and bluetooth (for headphones) are on during these hours and when I reach home I would still have around 40% left.
Hope this helps
i have switched from oneplus 3 to poco f1 2 months ago.
things i love
performance: its crazy cheap for this kind of perfomance
battery life: no matter what to cannot kill , it will last you a day of heavy use.
u can play pubg 60fps for about 3 hours.
camera: stock one is mah(ordinary)
pixel 3 mod makes you go crazy.pictures come out to are stunning.
you will see gcam photos from poco better than gcam from oneplus 3 in poor lighting condition.
best part is poco can take good bright image at faster shutter speeds, which is not the case with op3.
so you dont missout the crisp photos even in night. image processing is god damn fast.
miui: its feature packed its a personal preferance, i like both.
display is okayish
you can compromise for the price
definetly amoled is better.
face unlock: soo convienent, i dont want to swithc to other roms just for face unlock.
what i hate:
flashing roms is one hell of a process. some bug or isuue i always need to format all my storage in order to flash new rom always.
not at all flash friendly.
charging time.: i am used to char for 30-40 mins and go
this phone feels terribly slow.it takes 2hrs for 0-100%
and 0-60 in about 1 hr .
i prefer to charge twice a day.
Thank you both

Next time you format and flash a rom, flash an encryption disabler after the rom.

I own a Galaxy S9 plus about two month..
But I'm already very disappointed....
Below average camera (worse than Poco F1)..
No stable Pai update after 4 month(OnePlus 6, 6t, essential phone, mate 20, p20, mi 8, Poco f1, xperia xz 2 & a lot more already have pai)....
Now want to switch to OnePlus 6T...
I know I'll miss Dolby Atmos , the screen for sure..
If any one have any suggestions please help me..
First of all, if your phone camera is worse than Poco's camera, something is wrong.
Second, the only thing you will gain is speed. OnePlus is more responsive compared to our phone. But that's it.
Our S9+ can easily do +6h of SOT, has headphone jack, better screen, better build quality (although OPs also do a good job on this category), better camera, Samsung Experience is full of customization options (Oxygen OS is getting there too).
The only downside of a Samsung phone, in general, is the waiting time for the updates arrive. But that's not a deal breaker for me at least.
I would advise you to keep the S9+ for now and get the new OnePlus next year, with SD855.
I would vote for keeping the S9+ as well. I had the 6T before, but I had to send it back because it kept dropping the LTE connection to the tower by my house. Of course getting the newest Android versions is nice, but a lot of times there are bugs when you get them that soon anyway. Also the only thing I could think of that made Pie worth the wait was that you could replace the navbar with gestures. Other than that the S9+ feels more premium, and like you said you have Atmos, the wonderful screen, etc. The 6T was definitely snappy but lag does not seem to me to be an issue on the S9+.
Just keep the s9+. You'll get the android pie (pai?) update in january with a brand new interface and it'll make your device much faster and more responsive. It's not worth losing all the s9+ features to the 6t.
If you are just after speed. Enable Game mode in device maintenance. It will become at least 25% due to more aggressive governor settings.
On the camera, i agree with above comments. If it is worse than poco 8n quality. Something really wrong with either the settings or hardware. Try a factory reset.

6hrs SOT? Are you kidding?. S9+ in normal usage can't get past 3-3.5hrs. 6hrs is possible if you continuously watch videos and do nothing else. Otherwise it's a myth.

Definitely not a myth, I can confirm that 6 hrs of SOT is indeed possible.
Look, if your camera is worse then poco you have problem with the devices or with the eyes
I bought that phone 3 weeks after it's came out and I'm totally happy with it, especially from the camera, so much that my sis ,parents and few friends saw the photos and videos and bought the plus version a mouth later and they still thank me for the right choise of device
as we all know, there is no perfect phone yet, the bad things that the s9/+ for my opinion have is the small battery and the annoying edges. the screen look fu**ing amazing but the edge are cause the expience from my pov. of course the slow updates but that is samsung, always was, they have big UI to upgrade every android new version, the most chinese companies have more clean android experience so less work on every build.
the 1+6t is amazing phone in good price, it's faster and smoother thanks for the clean UI and 8gb ram at some models, but the screen is not good as ours, our camera is better, I think also that the 1+6t has mono speaker so the sound is worse.
In fact, what you think to do is to transfer from premium amazign high quality device to good device, if you have in your pocket s7, or any old device the 1+6t is good choise, but here you downgrade yourself.
My advice is to compare your s9 photos with friend who have that phone too or here and see if your camera work properly, and if not go to the warranty.
sorry for poor english, I'm working on it :silly:

2 days of use, see the apps that are used, videos watched only for 1 hour during that period. Oreo exynos btw.
And with stable Pie seeding as of yesterday, you know my answer - keep the s9+!

Look man, I use my phone with Bluetooth enable 100% of the time because I use with a Gear S3.
Data is enabled for at least 8 hours when I'm working, like it was yesterday.
I use my phone mostly for web browsing, Facebook, watch videos and listen to music (online music).
I get 6h~7h SOT constantly
If your phone can't do at least 6h SOT on mixed usage, I suggest you to go to a Samsung Repair Center and check it out what's wrong with your phone.
Btw, mine is a Snapdragon G9650.

What
It's very easy to do 6 hours-7 hours SOT on S9+
I don't know if your using a Exynos
Mine a snapdragon
But even with using mobile data for around 2-3 hours i can easily get 6 hours
I have set my screen resolution to WQHD+ too

I acually switched to a OP6T with a guy in my city and i got back to him after 2 days and would like to change back. As happy i was when i got it back he accepted the return again. Got my S9+ back and im happy. No notification LED on the 6T is a dealbreaker for me, i use it everyday on my S9+. I tested some apps that would replace the use of an Notification LED but it would not strike me enough. I read that people does simply not care about notification LED anymore beacuse the phone has an Ambient display, as silly verison of an always on display for me, like really the phone does not even have real always on display, only Ambient display. (tested rooting it and installing OP6s always on display ZIP, as it was the only one available and it is awful. OnePlus them self removed their Always on Display in a couple betas back, replacing it with Ambient display, stupid move. Worked perfectly on my old OP5 before it broke) No headphone jack is also a really bruh OnePlus, bragging on it a year ago when Apple removed it and now they did it. I have a pair of Bluetooth earphones but as the battery runs out i always switch to my Beats earphones, i KNOW that OnePlus provides a dongle with it but me not digging the red color at all and as it feels like it will break after one day of use of dragging it around. (as the cable is thin) I would still credit OnePlus for their operating system being much more nicer than Samsungs. (menys, app designs, all around simpler design in my opinion) The speed is also real and the performance/battery life is quite impressive compared to my S9+ as the price. Also dash charge! I wanted to switch to OP6T beacuse of the performance and battery life. Also me seeing the S9+ as an photograpy phone was not my intend in the beginning, but i must say when i take a photo(not often at all) it takes stunning pictures, both in lowlight and normal day use. I bought it when it came out as a new daily driver with speed and performance and was a bit disappointed with the speed/performance/battery and still is, but switching from it to an phone without an Notification LED and headphone jack i forgot how much i use them daily. Will keep my S9+ until it breaks a probably buy a OP6.
No way...u shud do it other way round...dumped my 6 and s9 plus is different league...
I have the 6T and my wife has the S9+. Her camera is way better than my 6T camera. Her S9+ has a much nicer screen. My 6T feels more responsive. Overall, I think the S9+ is a better phone, but the 6T is better value for the money. If you already have the S9+, I would stick with it.
Install package disabler and disable all the extra function you're not getting on OP 6T. Just as fast. With s9+, you're getting so much function than vanilla. It's the extra flavor that I like. But if you are into vanilla, then OP 6T is the way.
Personal note: I really love the motion photo.

Previous day's SOT is 3.5hrs.
Well,
I expected a lot more from a phone that costed over 1000 $ when released.
Although I did purchased it used, many things frustrate me a lot so lets go by order:
1. Yellowish tint on screen which makes white color not so white, like the night filter option is ON,screen is not changed on this phone,so only thing I could do is go to vivid settings decrease red channel all the way and set colors to more cooler tone, but just setting to Natural display settings yellow tone is more then noticeable..
Dunno is it just my phone or any others experience this issue.
2.Battery is terrible.I noticed last night drop of 4 % while only GSM in 4 hours so I suppose while in stanby it looses 1 % per hour,my Ulefone Power 5S doesn't loose any battery capacity while ON though it has 13 000 mAh battery.
This issue I couldn't resolve,I suppose it is like that way, because I had same issue before with Note 8 which was bought used, though phone was not used that much because I was frustrated with battery lasting at most 1 day of mediocre usage.
While this phone is on WiFi battery loses capacity drastically.
I even switched it to power saving mode ON,turned off all gestures, turned black theme on,every possible way to save battery but still loosing capacity with simple GSM signal.
3 Wifi quality signal is pretty bad, even my good old S7 edge beats the 1000 $ phone,it usually is droping signal from other networks id there are many outdoors but indoors it has good quality signal.
I figured out for unknown reason that when I turn OFF power saving signal I do get better Wifi quality/strength signal, dunno why,is it just me phone or what the f..k.
4. Very bad sound quality from caller ovet network, while outdoors I can barely hear someone talking while making calls.
Dunno what else,if I remember I will post in same topic, don't think it's just my phone because I see many comlaining about this on this very own forum.
I can't tell anything positive for a phone that costed 1000 $ and I can't get over these things,so Samsung what where you thinking when you released this phone.
No more Samsung phones for me,next I will try Huawei.
Well, I sincerely do not recognize what you describe as a note 10+, not a single issue you mention has happened to me, if you are so frustrated, sell it
have no ideia what phone you're speaking of. Mine's over 2 years old already since I got it. Screen still crisp, battery is day and a half, I don't charge it at night, I just charge it at work from 43% almost everytime, so it's the full day, the night and charge it in the morning with around 43 ish.
I keep BT/WIF/4G/gestures ... all bell and whistles on at all times...
I think that phone was already fixed and badly, that's the only thing I can think of. Maybe abused AF but still...
Happy camper here ...

Like you I got my 10+ 2 years ago. It's still running on Pie. Current OS load is over a year old, still fast and stable. One battery replacement so far. Zero display pixels are damaged or showing any signs of deterioration.
The display's color gamut is damn near spot on.
Its still one of the best displays out there.
This phone looks and runs like it was new.
Picked up another new 10+ 3 days ago. Been testing it. The display is perfect. No damaged pixels. This one is running on Android 10 though. It seems as snappy as my Pie variant and it appears scoped storage isn't active unlike 11. Camera improvements came with 10 too as well as better dark mode support. That said the settings section is noticeably worse especially apps.
The only major issue is it killed Karma Firewall's valuable logging feature. I will find a work around hopefully.
Bottom line, I'll take the 10+ over all the phones Samsung has released after it including the 20 Ultra. The 10+'s display has slightly better color rendering than the 20U although it's limited at 60hz. Which isn't all bad as it has better battery life.
The phone is built rock solid and with a good case/screen protector will give years of trouble free premium performance. With 12 gb of ram it's performance is only slightly less then the newest phones. With no Android 11, 5G or variable refresh rate to bog it down it's not lagging far behind the newest phones in speed.
The last thing you want is an Android running on 11. This OS is a dog.
OP, some of your issues are settings and configuration. A poorly coded 3rd party app, like a book reading app, may have alter hidden settings for the display. Adjust in that app to eliminate it. If you uninstalled the app, you will need to reinstall that app to toggle off the night filter... been there, done that.
Otherwise a factory reset will purge it.

Here 20 Ultra is like 250 euros more expensive?
Do you think it's 250 euros better phone?
I mean I get 120 HZ display and 108 MPX camera and stronger CPU (I'm not planing to render videos).
But don't think at all that is worth giving 10 plus and extra 250 e for it.
I meant on used phones.

The 10+ has slightly better display color accuracy and better battery life.
The new one I got is loaded with Android 10 and seems to run strong.
More than likely the 20U's will come with 11, no way I'm touching that OS version. 11 will eat into the increase in CPU speed of the 20U.
Android 11 is the biggest strike against the 20U and Samsung version of it is especially not a charm.
I like the laser focus on the 20U but the cam hump is a burden. Like the faster spen response as well. The 5G be nice but not needed.
Many of the sellers stateside aren't showing full specs ie the variant of the 20U they are selling. A lot of seedy crap going on with both models but it's worse with the 20U.
It became a major headache to the point where it simply wasn't worth the risk. Getting a factory sealed new unit is important to me as is getting exactly what I want. The 10+ still had one surprise Q instead of Pie, but it turned out not to be a ball breaker. May even update my older one to that version.
Hey guys I was actually scouting for new devices when I found a unboxed but new edge 30 pro for a great price. So my question is, is it a good device and should I even consider buying it. Also on the same point how is the battery life which is my greatest worry considering the 8 gen 1 in it. And how is the stock ui been.
Thank you !
Welp, phone seems pretty nice,
But 5000mAh battery scares me.
its not worth it, battery life is atrocious, updates are the worst in Android world, has no telephoto whatsoever, if u are into stock just get Pixel or Oneplus
OnePlus seems to be a problematic about its firmware and productivity,
Redmi or poco would be nice
Samsung would be nice too.
OnePlus with custom rom is considered best + it's snapdragon not overheating Tensor mess, Xiaomi with AOSP if any for newer devices, is trash and is best used with MIUI ( noone really likes that )
Of course it is, Xiaomi phones only indeed to work nicely with MIUI,
My battery lasts easily 1 day, sometimes up to 2, I really have no clue why are people complaining - are y'all running with all your services turned on constantly?...
literally everyone who owns a motorola device is complaining in their official forums so you gotta be using it for phone calls only and not as a top dog smart device, the drain on that thing is insane, if i bring my old Snapdragon 865 device running both @ 144hz , Moto will be fully dead while the other will be at over 60%
US equivalent is Edge+2022
A13 has battery improved, but it has minor flickering issue due to inconsistent brightness on different refresh rate. Set it on 60 or 144Hz can avoid the issue

I don't complain. I have Moto device (mid-range) and it has been very good since 2019. Month ago i changed new battery and now it's still good for next three years
Battery life is also great. 2 days easily and 7-8H sot usually with 60% usage.

I would not buy Edge 30 Pro because Edge 40 Pro is so much better. Atleast specs.

Ah i see, yeah i would love to do that but the reason i was considering the edge 30 pro was due to a fantastic deal. After some days of researching i beleive this is a good device with a minor caviate being the battery life
Hopefully once i do get the device the battery wouldn't be too much of an issue, and i don't find any other skeltons in the closet. (Maybe i might even be pleasently suprised by the battery life considering my 888 is not a high bar to clear)

Okay, so if like it then buy it
I don't think that battery life is your problem. I think 8 gen 1 heating could be problem.

Ah, i see from what i have read though even with the x30 being an inferno, the edge 30 pro was quite good with head management, i hope that statement is actually true and not just reviewer fluff
there is no heat management, device is very plasticky and thus has no vapor chamber solution, heat is not an issue, battery suffers from poor governors, if u are buying from china unlock bootloader and use it with custom rom
