Weird question about accessibility - LG V30 Questions & Answers

It doesn't open.
I have no idea why, but I can't access the accessibility menu.
Tapping the button in the settings menu does nothing (tapping any other button on that same menu acts like normal), hitting a link to the accessibility menu from an app does nothing, and rebooting the phone doesn't solve this.
I'm running rooted VS996 Oreo, and I'm using Substratum, but removing all themes doesn't seem to help.
It's weird, because it was working earlier, and nothing's really changed since then. I just can't get into accessibility.

US996? That's not LG V30.
You're either running US998 or VS996, if you have V30.

Home Screen and App Drawer Auto Rotate?

Dies anyone know of there is a native option to have the home screens and App drawer rotate (to landscape). I checked the auto rotate option in settings but home screens and App drawer are fixed in portrait mode (settings screen and others do rotate). I had this feature on my g2 and wondering if they removed it. Thanks
I would also like to know if there is a way to get the launcher to rotate. I normally use Nova Launcher but I'm kind of fond of the LG G3's launcher minus this little issue. I'm rooted and have tried various options with G3 Tweaksbox and Gravitybox to no avail, also unlocked the hidden Home menu and found a couple of promising options, but nothing seems to apply. I supposed a rotation app might work, but I'd prefer not to run one.

Ok, I figured it out by accident. You need to enable hidden launcher settings using G3 Tweaksbox. Then go into the hidden settings and do the following:
(note these are both towards the end of the options)
UNCHECK the following "FEATURE_USE_PORTAIT_ONLY"
CHECK the following "FEATURE_USE_SYSTEM_ORIENTATION_CHANGE"
There are others that seem to be related to auto rotation, but I made the above changes and everything seems to be working fine except the stock 5x2 weather widget w time which won't load when rotating the screen to landscape. All others seem fine.
Sweet, thanks for posting this. I had the first one unchecked but hadn't done anything to the second one. Now, I'm rotating how I choose!

At first i was using save options in the 3rd tab but that did not nothing accept reset my homescreens so dont do that. All you have to do is make your changes and hit the home button.
Btw unrelated but figure I'd share. After swearing I'd stay with the stock launcher I moved to nova prime. The auto rotate feature is an option plus the smoothness cant be matched by stock. I also replicated everything to match what i had on the stock launcher. Oh and the replicated version of the 5x2 weather widget i mentioned rotates fine with nova.

Yep, reset my homescreen setup. Ouch!!!!
I'll stick to stock. I don't the stock widget. I use Weatherbug Elite, since Blackberry Storm days....
I don't have any lag. I froze almost everything. I'm good. Just like the rotate because I use the phone horizontally in the car.
Thanks

Noob Question
Noob question but after turning the hidden settings on in Tweaksbox, I cant find the hidden settings!
Where are the hidden settings?
I was excited because I really want the homescreen to be able to rotate to landscape, but I can't seem to find the hidden settings you talk of. Are they still in the G3 Tweaksbox app or somewhere else? When I check the "Enable LG launchers hidden settings" I get the checkbox, but nothing else happens, even after I reboot. What am I missing?
I'm on a LG G2 with the CloudyG3 port installed

for the g 3 at least it's located under the home screen settings on the settings at the bottom.
The two settings mentioned worked perfectly for me. Many thanks, rotation locker also worked but this is better since it sticks each boot.
Is there a guide anywhere that details what each of the settings in this hidden menu does?

I have searched but haven't been able to find anything. If anyone knows, I'd be very interested in this also.
My G3 was doing this yesterday. Put it on safe mode and auto rotate started working again. Restarted the phone and now it works fine. Go figure. Software bug.
It's been about ten minutes and so far so good. I have a Sprint G3.

[Q] LAG!!!

Hey guy, I am hoping someone can help me with this because it's starting to get really frustrating. My G3 is very laggy. When I am texting, it will freeze for a few moments and then catch up, sometimes missing some letters that I have typed so I have to redo it. It lags with playing games, or pressing the on-screen back button... there is a very noticeable lag.. is there any way to fix this at all?

There is no dial code for Sprint G3 as far as I know.
you have to use shortcut master in order to access the rest of the hidden menu settings such as Thermal dae

Under developer options you can select whether you want to use dalvik (ODEX) or ART (precompiled apps).
But: have you tried to remove new apps you had installed? Maybe they are causing your problem.

Settings/developer options; probably you don't have this menu item
Try to install osmonitor from market, and turn on "show cpu usage"
Just to check if nothing runs in the background.
Developer options menu is unlocked by doing the following...
Go to General tab (or section if you're not in tabbed mode)
Select 'About Phone'
Select 'Software information'
Tab 'Build number' (KVT49L.LS990ZV4) 7 times - you'll see a countdown pop-up after the first few taps
You have now unlocked Developer options menu under General tab (or section)
I ended up calling Sprint and had them reset the services and reactivate the phone. After this and updating PRL and Profile, it is running smooth as butter.

System UI Tuner Question

Has anyone used the System UI tuner by @Zacharee1 on the Sprint LS998 yet?
I am nervous to use it.....I am sure I could mess stuff up. How would I get back to stock if I did?
Not worth it?

Also, with this program....if I toggle something off, in theory I can toggle it back on and restore the system file?
You can use it on an unrooted LG V30. I did, just follow the instructions and you will be fine.

Yes, stupid auto correct. There are instructions for how to do everything with it. I am using it on my S9. The only it can't do on my S9 is hide the navigation bar on the home screen like it did when I had the V30. The instruction for System UI Tuner are very straightforward and simple to follow.

I'm not sure cause I only installed it on my S9 to see if I could get the full immersive mode to work on my S9. Can get the status bar hidden on the home screen but not the navigation bar.

It's where you can the status and navigation bars on the home screen. It gives you more screen real estate. When they are hidden you just stripe up for them to appear, then they go back to hidden. It's a nice feature to have. Like how I have it here on my phone, well I have the status bar hidden but haven't been able to hide my navigation bar, but I could using that app on the V30
Did anyone get power notification control worked? I have it enabled. Wanted to change hangout notification to level 3, but the slider is not working.
You can hide the bottom navigation bar on the vs996 ( Verizon's LG v30 edition). In the left side of the navigation bar, there is a real small square (it looks almost like a dot), that if you press it, it hides the navigation bar.

Advanced Reboot Menu request

Hello
Does anyone know of a mod or root script (I.e. Tasker) to use an advanced reboot menu after holding the power button?

It does, indeed. From the Power button...
"Reboot Menu" then gives you more options for that choice.
See screenshots a few posts down...
EDIT: This one worked for a while, then stopped. My normal power menu comes back, until I reopen the app and mess with the settings again. But when it does work, it's great.

Thanks. This one seems to work consistently.
Another one I tried from the thread worked a few times, then stopped. I had to open the app and mess with the settings for it to start working again (to show when I long pressed the power button). It worked a few more times, then stopped again. Maybe I was doing something wrong. I also have the Recovery Reboot app, so when the other one didn't work consistently at least I had that to fall back on + regular stock power menu, therefore no big deal...
But THIS one so far has worked well when I long press the power button.

NOXX Advanced Power Menu
I have the NOXX Advanced Power Menu (the non-exposed one you reference) customized with the options and settings I want. You can even put them in the order you want. See attached screenshots...
Maybe the Xposed one you installed has even more options -- I don't know -- but just making sure others know the NOXX is very customizable.
For instance, I moved Reboot to the top as that's my most frequent choice. Others I enabled, while a couple I just left disabled.
When I get a chance, I'm actually going to recommend this one in the WTF INSTRUCTIONS.

Oh! It wouldn't let me adjust that. I stand corrected. Good to know. Thanks!
Another option, rather than install *another* app...
Most of us have Magisk? Go to Magisk, modules, then in upper right 3 ellipses selection, you get options to reboot, reboot recovery, reboot download, reboot bootloader.
As often as I need this option (not often), this suffices for me anyway.
Cheers
I have tried a bunch of rebooting apps on my V30 LG-H930DS and the only one that works for me is "Easy Reboot for root users".

Annoying screenshot floating thing

When ever I take a screenshot, I get this little floating window that lets me know I took a screenshot. As if the screen flashing and zooming down was not enough. Is there a way to get rid of this annoying feature?
I have looked through my settings and have disabled anything that is associated with "floating" or "screenshot".

Rooted US998 running OEM Android 9.
The picture is of my software info. 30b is the software version.
I've got dev options enabled. I have search for this setting far and wide... If I have to dig into the kernel and rip stuff out... OK. I just want this gone.

I believe it's one of the LG Apps that do this, but I forget which one. Maybe QuickMemo. Check under Settings/General/Update center/App updates if you can get rid of it. Otherwise you can probably Disable it from Settings/General/Apps & notifications/App info. You may have to show system apps.
Edit: I have QuickMemo in my app drawer (so not disabled it) but I am not getting that popup. You can try deleting its app data.
My wife likes these LG apps and the various fly-out things, but I try to keep them dormant as much as I can. I can never use her phone without getting an urge to throw it against the wall
