Missing OEM unlock option, galaxy s9+ exynos - Samsung Galaxy S9+ Questions & Answers

I tried to install twrp and it didn't work so I figured that the oem unlocking wasn't on (forgot about it) and went to turn it on and saw it wasn't there(the developer options had been on for some months I think), I tried the whole "move the clock and check updates" thing but it didn't help, is there any other way around this? I really wanted to install a rom, ps exynos and g965fd

Try going into the easter egg thing (when you tap a couple of times on the android version) this weirdly fixed it for me when i wanted to root my S9+

How to get rid of 3 boot logo

My phone was stolen on Friday night and i didnt get around to getting it insured as i only had it a few days so had to take out a 2 year contract with 3 to get it for free as i previously paid €419 on a 6 month contract with o2 but they wouldn't do anything for me, anyway when i turn on the phone the 3 logo shows and same when i power if off, does anyone know how i can get rid of these 3 logos?
PS - Be sure and get your phone insured and be careful when you are drunk and dont flash it about

Two ways. One way root and replace them with the default ones from a stock rom.
Other way is to install a customer android rom.

Already rooted, the normal Samsung boot logo shows as well as the 3 so im hoping there is another way to get rid of the 3 logo?
Probably will install a custom ROM too but am gonna wait until there are a few to choose from.

Hi if you go to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671969
it explains the exact procedure. just download odin and flash unbranded csc http://androidfirmwares.net/PhoneCSC3/Download/12
this will remove 3 boot logos and carrier branding
You are the 1st person who has anything 3 on their phone everyone else like me have no 3 branding and unlocked handsets ... is this with 3UK
Giving it some beans on my blue s3
Sorry to hear about your bad luck getting your phone stolen.
I purchased the SGS3 in white from 3 in the UK and my phone came with branding and the SIM lock. There are probably different batches of stock in the stores - some locked/branded and others without 3's customisations.
I will be getting my SGS3 from Three UK (when they finally get some blue ones).
How can I remove the simlock from the handset?

Check that out, if you're not rooted ignore the Everroot options. And if you don't have CLOCKWORKMOD installed ignore the recovery clear option. Basically ignore step 7 and 8 if you're not rooted or don't CLOCKWORKMOD installed. Any questions let me know

I've inherited an original (broken?) Nexus 7

From a young Nephew that's probably tweaked it one too many times..
There doesn't seem to be any damage to it, but it doesn't ever boot just showing the Google logo & an unlocked padlock.
If I hold the power/volume buttons for a while I'm taken to 'Team Win Recovery Project v2.2.1' I don't really understand much of what is here, but if I go to the reboot menu & choose one of the options it says 'No OS installed! Are you sure you wish to reboot?'
Is there anything that someone who doesn't have a clue (that would be me) can do to fix this or is it only fit for the trash?
Thanks.

Actually yes, assuming it's just missing an OS aka a Rom on these forums, that is quite easy to fix, could you possibly specify what version of the nexus 7 you have?

[Q] Why did I update to 4.3?!?!

I dont know why but I did the Stock 4.3 update via Odin. I was rooted and unlocked 4.1.2
Now I've been stuck on the samsung logo since last night (not the bootloop, just frozen)
I've tried to install older stock roms and they all succeed thru Odin. Ive tried with and without pit files. Ive looked at most of the threads and I feel like Ive tried everything...is there anything else I can do?
Thanks :*(

Welcome to the ranks of regretful upgraders. We're a sorrowful bunch, it seems.
(I also upgraded, so eager to get the latest official update that I forgot about losing my unlocked bootloader. Sigh...)
Your best bet is Verizon's software. Assuming you have the new bootloader (go into Download mode, look for the KNOX flag - if there, you have it), this won't make things any worse.
If you don't have the latest bootloader, DON'T use Verizon's software, as it will apply the latest bootloader and lock you up tight.
With that caveat, here's Verizon's software: http://www.mediafire.com/?887h2dm4d20dk43
Steps are simple:
- install the software
- boot into Download mode (Power+Home+VolDown)
- start the Verizon software
- plug your phone into your computer (wait for driver install, detection)
- click on the 'repair' option in the left column
- click on your phone in the device section
- click on repair button in the bottom right (or next, or start - I don't recall)
- wait for the OTA to download and be installed
You can obtain root, though there is some risk depending on the method you choose (privacy issues with one program).
Good luck!
- Computerslayer

That is, indeed, what that means.
Yup, you've got KNOX and the new bootloader. My condolences.
Don't try to flash other bootloader or ROMs - you'll trip the counter and get a softbrick ('Unauthorized Software' message, phone won't boot).
On the flip side, you can still get your phone back to working condition. Verizon Software to the rescue.
(Glad to help, by the way. Nice to be able to offer help!)

dang i feel so helpless...
so i installed the verizon app but the app wont launch. its there in the tab next to the clock but nothing happens when i plug my phone in while download mode, argh!!
I had that happen too.
The way around it is to launch the application from the Start Menu or Desktop a second time. Then it will actually come up, instead of just having an icon in the notification center.

Hmm. What comes up when you right-click on the taskbar icon next to the clock?
I have a 64-bit system as well - no issues to report. I don't think that's your problem.

Hmm.
So I just installed the software on my 64-bit system here. I didn't reboot and when I right-clicked on the taskbar icon and selected 'Launch Assistant', it did right away. When I closed that window and tried to launch from the Start Menu icon, it also opened the application.
I'm wondering if its a goofy install. Care to uninstall and try again?
In the meantime, what version of Windows are you running? If Vista or higher, there could be an administrator access prompt that was denied, which might keep the application from launching.
powers airtsom
just tried another usb port also...nothing

You know, i hate to admit it, but i got OEM just around when i found this stupid easteregg. I am as confused as i am skeptical about it.
I guess it's just a coincidence on a firmware/csc which has OEM option by default and hidden temporarily.
WTF!!!!! i dont belive this I had the oem appear after 7 days jail from new out of sealed box I still can see oem switch.
Im still sammy stock I have updated to dec security patch. I have not odin anything as yet.
I just tried what is described in OP got the N logo up tapped on it until I had this symbol ?
then i rebooted from the N screen with ? and when i checked DEV options my OEM SWITCH was gone!!!!
I then went immediately back to N logo tapped until the cat symbol ? appeared again rebooted from N logo screen
immediately checked DEV options and my OEM switch is back!!!!!
I cant believe this worked Im not BullS***n you guys
Im still shaking my head I've tried it several times now and each time it will dis and re appear.

Samsung Galaxy M30s Android 10 update

Just received android 10 with one UI 2.0 update for my device.
Is there anyone who is using a non indian variant of m30s and has recieved android 10 update? I had mine purchased from UAE and I have not recieved the update.
Edit- my model number is SM-M307FN. The last update I got was on March 9 with the Feb security patch bumping it up to version M307FNXXS2ATB4/ M307FNOJM2ASL1
After updating my device (Samsung Galaxy M30s) camera performance, sound quality, display, AI function has been found lower than the previous version!!!! How can I get back to the older version????
yes i had the same reaction as you, so i downloaded M30s rom, then downloaded odin and just flashed the rom took me 30min and its better then that damn update
Does upgrading stock firmware with new full update wipe user data?

Depends on which CSC file you are flashing. Use Home_CSC if you want to keep your date, use CSC if you want to do a clean flash.

What attracts me was batteries capacity and the compact size indeed. Otherwise, I will no but this phone.
I'm frequently TASKER user and believe it or not, TASKER tasks are running improperly either you expect a 30 sec. Delay or even no response.
