Just received android 10 with one UI 2.0 update for my device.
Is there anyone who is using a non indian variant of m30s and has recieved android 10 update? I had mine purchased from UAE and I have not recieved the update.
Edit- my model number is SM-M307FN. The last update I got was on March 9 with the Feb security patch bumping it up to version M307FNXXS2ATB4/ M307FNOJM2ASL1
After updating my device (Samsung Galaxy M30s) camera performance, sound quality, display, AI function has been found lower than the previous version!!!! How can I get back to the older version????
yes i had the same reaction as you, so i downloaded M30s rom, then downloaded odin and just flashed the rom took me 30min and its better then that damn update
Does upgrading stock firmware with new full update wipe user data?

Depends on which CSC file you are flashing. Use Home_CSC if you want to keep your date, use CSC if you want to do a clean flash.

The phone is installing some parts of the firmware while the phone is already in use again. that's why it seems to be less fast than before. give it some time

Come on baby....... The M30s itself is somewhat show......... More slow again you meant?
What attracts me was batteries capacity and the compact size indeed. Otherwise, I will no but this phone.
I'm frequently TASKER user and believe it or not, TASKER tasks are running improperly either you expect a 30 sec. Delay or even no response.
Thanks
Edmond

Hello good people from xdadevelopers,
PREREQUISITES:
I come to you as a noob seaking some answers. Somewhere in November I bought a Samsung Galaxy S2 from Orange that came with the Orange Branded software. Because the phone kept switching off (the Sleep of death bug, i think) I sent it in for service and it came back with the same problem.
Seeing that Samsung Keys does not have an option to restore the phone (as I could do from iTunes for my iPhone) I reflashed the phone with 4.0.4 Android XXLQ5 osing ODIN. The phone works better now, still get the SOD, but not as frequently.
The problem that I am facing now is that I cannot use keys anymore to update and since the 4.1.2 Update should start shortly I don't know what I can do to pass to the new version.
QUESTIONS:
1. How can I do a software restore from keys to the new Android version once an update is available?
2. Are there any precautions that I have to keep in mind since I have the LLQ5 version installed (I used the emmc checker from the store and my chip is "sane")?
3. If I flash the Orange version back from Sammobile, will I be able to use Keys again?
I have also added a screenshot of how the phone battery stats looked after recovering from a sleep of death issue just in case you know if it's another problem and I missed the diagnostic.

Thank you for your time,

Hi Peaceful Droid,
Thank you for your answer. Could it really be that simple as flashing the official ROM and then the phone is yet again accessible through Keys?
If this is the only thing I have to do than thank you
This phone has been a pest since I bought it. I don't know why Keys doesn't let you to simply make a restore to get a stock phone as you could in iTunes. There it was that easy, just connect the phone and click restore then set-up as new iPhone and problem solved. Back to stock in 30 minutes.
Thank you,
Andrei Doru Tudose
Yes. remember always read the instructions carefully and do it step by step and you will never face any issues...

Hi,
I have been having loads of issues lately with my GS3, it works for about 3 or 4 minutes then crashes and restarts. or shuts down completely. if i leave it to charge then i don't have any guarantee that when i wake up in a morning that it will even be switched on!
It's all a bit random and some days i can barley use the phone, it will restart and crash for literally hours on end, even when i remove the battery for 30mins and put it back in, it continues.
I have been reding up and i suspect i have this sudden death thingi thats affecting phones, i checked using the little app and i do have the version that is affected.
so yesterday i installed cm-10.1-20130311-NIGHTLY-i9300 but i'm still having the same issues as before. is there anything i have missed?
Many thanks

I don't think the updated would have caused an issue coz companies like samsung test their updates before they release it for users
The issue would be something else

Huh? 13k?
The phone itself costs around 16k.
They should do it under warranty (unless the warranty period is over).
Since it's not just a person with this problem, it seems to be a mistake from Samsung.
Tell them to stfu and fix it.

Samsung S Advance Bricked
I am using Samsung Galaxy S Advance (GT-I9070) for 10 months. Its Android version was Ginger Bread. Yesterday I checked my phone's Settings for Update. Then i got New version and I Download it. While installing that, My phone had 79% Battery. But Unfortunately it automatically Dead. Now Nothing is coming....!!! Any one can help me??? If I will not get any technical answer from here now, I will try to get solution from The same shop which I Purchase this phone, And I will Post it here, For future reference for others who are facing same problem.......!!!
Don't try to update software in Samsung Galaxy Advance Even If it is Official
Dears,
I tried to update My Samsung Galaxy Advance from settings as official. When the process was going on, Phone Bricked. I went to same shop which I purchased this phone with Warranty card. they said that you have to wait at least 15 days, They have to send it to Samsung Service center, And finally I got my phone after 15 days. Now phone is OK, with the same software GB. Then They Said that It is normal to this phone Don't try to update this phone again... "Even if it is Official"
I'm sorry that I don't know about the manual update From GB to JB. I didn't try it. If any one tried and succeeded....!!? Let me know How can I do it???
real background of updates
i had same phone as you but i had it after one month i brought My phone . It was the update that causes the problem. before that my mobile used to hang a lot sometime while calling or surfing the internet. then one day i got a update for my phone. (S advance . I kept it on charging while updating so that there can be no power failure at all. The update completed successfully . But when after update my mobile did not start up IT WAS A HARD BRICK . But i had it wareenty . so it went to the store from i brought it and After 1 and half month i got a new one back. It was terible time going daily to the store, asking waiting in lines blah etc. NOW HERE IS AN IMPORTANT THING I WAS ABLE TO DISCOVER . first lets take a example of windows pc as windows is the most common OS Around. sometimes when you update you windows xp vista 7 8 any one some programs do not function correctly give you errors , slow speed , hanging your PC. in many conditions removing the corrupted software might work. The new update make the previous system files changed means over right them. some of these over righted files are used my some installed software who become faulty as result of update and cause havoc in your pc by doing unstable function in your pc ultimate the pc breakdowns and every thing has to be re installed again even OS. ANDROID would be having same characteristic. means that the more apps you have on you android device the more likely it to get BRICKED. because after update some would become corrupted and brick the phone. HERE IS MY SCHEME TO update successfully your android device BE CAREFULL ! THIS METHOD IS NOT SUCCESSFUL ON EVERY DEVICE DO IT ON YOUR OWN RISK. IT FOR EDUCATION PURPOSES ONLY
FOR updating you android device
1. Backup your important data like photos music etc
2. Then format your phone completely and make sure before updating there is at least 80% battery left
3. Then update it and restore you data back.
IT looks easy but its not as i said,do it on your own risk as it is still beta method. I Will not be responsible for anything. if you cant update it yourself go to a mobile repair shop they should be able to do that for you. IF you liked my information hit THANKS BUTTON:laugh::angel::crying::silly:

Have you flashed a stock firmware?
I have similar issue with my phone after I updated to Android 7.0. It is at the Samsung service center now. Last update they shared - they have found manufacturing defect in my phone(2 year old phone). The problem is they also found that my charging port and screen is physically damaged and unless I pay them 300 AUD, they will not fix anything. I would like to assume my phone is gone. Any help will be highly appreciated.
Hello,
I've purchased a Galaxy Tab S6 (SM-T865N) International version, mainly to use it with with 4G in US on Xfinity Mobile. I received the tablet, inserted the SIM card and it was working 'relatively' on the network. Every now & then I would get a message 'failed to register to network', but for the most part, mobile data is working.
Since it is a Korea version, certain things don't work. Nothing major, but I would like to make it perfect. Certain User update posts in the Galaxy store display in Korean Language, and the weather app is slightly limited, with the error 'not available outside of Korea'.
I did some searching and found other firmware available for this exact model on Sammobile. My country (US) is not supported, but I would like to try the UK firmware, if nothing else, to fix some of the language issues. I downloaded the UK firmware package and Odin (3.13 & 3.14.1). I installed the Samsung drivers. I booted the tablet into recovery by holding 'power & volume up' then connected it to the computer. Odin WILL NOT found the tablet. I rebooted into the normal OS and connected it and Odin then found it, but obviously that doesn't work. I can not get Odin to connect while in recovery.
Does anyone have suggestions on what might be happening?
And maybe all this effort isn't worth it either, hard telling whether it'll work better or worse with the UK firmware on it. Any tips?
It's been several years since I did this sort of thing, so I'm a little rusty. I thought this would be a simple procedure.
it sounds to me like you are not putting it into download / Odin mode, but I could be wrong. I haven't tried to use Odin on this tablet yet, but was actually about to do this same thing as well, as my device has an origin CSC of singapore, and hasn't had an official update in almost 2 months, so I was going to flash the UK version as well.
---------- Post added at 07:58 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:51 PM ----------
So I just tested it on my tablet, here is what you need to do:
Power off the device
Press and hold the Volume up button and then press and hold the power button
When you see the initial boot screen, release the power button, but keep holding volume button
When you get to the recovery screen, you need to use the volume up / down buttons to highlight the option that has "bootloader" in the title, and press the power button to select it.
Then you should see a screen that says "Download" or something like that.
Plug in USB, and Odin should see the device.
Yeah, you're booting into recovery, you need to boot into Download mode - Hold both volume up and down whilst inserting the USB-C cable to enter Download mode.
Your correct

Your Correct. Device needs to be plugged into the pc for it to boot to the screen that shows all the info. I wonder why they made this a requirement. Its very unintuitive. I also didn't see it documented anywhere. How did you find out about this ? Thanks again for the help!

Did you able to flash that firmware on your tablet?
IF you mean did I succeed in flashing it through Odin then yes BUT unfortunately I couldn't get it to reboot correctly & it takes a lot of time trying to reboot but still no luck. So, I took it to a repair shop & they told me it needs new motherboard !! How can this be even possible IF I still can get it to connect to Odin and download the firmware successfully BUT no luck in getting it to reboot correctly!!

Have you tried reflashing the old firmware of your country? Weird that its not working.
I did try that and managed to flash it successfully to the old firmware using Odin but unfortunately I still couldn't get it past a full reboot as it got stuck after a long time and it takes me to the Android System Recovery screen wherein also tried to 'wipe cache partition.’ and try reboot again but I still end up with the recovery screen!

Can't you put in a warranty claim ? Here where i am based i had a new battery, and new screen installed from samsung! this was a Galaxy S8+ was well over 2 years old they did it for free! New screen and new battery! My Note 9 is going this monday for a new battery my Tab S6 works flawlessly so don't need to send that in! but i'm sure if you ring up Samsung they will replace the motherboard for free as it's not even 12 months old!
