I want to know what is 'NTFS Automounting' for android.
Does it just needs to mount NTFS format SD card?
Can I mount NTFS format hard disk drive to android phone with that feature?
Hi All,
I just got a new 32GB microSD card, and I'm trying to create a partition via TWRP to install apps on it.
I am on 4.4.4, tried with both TWRP official and unofficial (2.8.5.0), tried with EXT3 and EXT4
Code:
Partitioning SD Card...
Removing Partition Table...
Creating FAT32 partition...
Creating EXT partition...
E: Unable to locate sd-ext partiton
Any hints? Thanks
Okay, fixed using a PC with EaseUS Partiton Master, and I created an EXT3 partition which is successfully mounted by Link2SD.
However via recovery I'm still unable to create an EXT3/4 partition.
I have a Redmi Note 3 Pro Special Edition with a locked bootloader, Alka TWRP and CM13. Before I flashed CM13 I was able to back up all the MIUI partitions with TWRP. I now have CM13 running on the phone but whenever I try to backup any partitions I get an error message "unable to mount storage, failed to mount /external_sd (invalid argument)".
Can anyone help?
Thanks

Thanks, I tried that but the box refuses to be ticked. If I try to make a backup and tap on "select storage" the micro sd card shows as 0MB. I'm using a Samsung 64GB microSD card. I get the same results with a Sandisk 64GB card. But if I use a Samsung 16GB card TWRP will back up to it without any problems, it's just that it's not big enough to back up the system and data partitions. So it looks as if TWRP is being fussy about which SD cards it will mount.
All 3 cards are mounted without any problems in CM13.
Is SD 64GB exfat ? Change to fat32 and try , I hope it help
@dwl99 Try erasing your "userdata" partition before booting in TWRP.
Use the command below on FASTBOOT:
erase userdata
After that, TWRP will be able to mount every partition.
("userdata" partition is encrypted. That's why TWRP cannot mount it.)

I think you may be on to something! The 64GB card is exfat, the 16GB card that works is fat32. Will try copying over the contents of card before reformatting it.
there may be some problems to format sd card 64 gb to fat32 , you can follow this method
http://digiex.net/guides-reviews/gu...ws-7-8-10-includes-micro-sdhc-sdxc-cards.html
Thanks for the advice, I couldn't format the 64GB card as fat32 using Windows 10 or SD formatter, only exfat but I found a utility that would do it http://www.ridgecrop.demon.co.uk/index.htm?guiformat.htm - TWRP has picked up the card & now backs up fine.
Hello,
OEM's rom doesn't handle ext4 for external storage and asks for reformatting to exfat, telling it is "corrupted".
Manually creating an exfat first partition and a second ext4 partition doesn't work to vold mount the partitions, but mounting manually works for using the filesystem, yet the system aggressively asks me to format the whole storage.
How should I proceed to format "correctly" my sdcard to make vold stop ask me to format, yet keeping a whole storage ext4 partition, or a small exfat partition and a big ext4 partition.
On device tools that touches /system are outright banned as it will break safetynet stuff. (But root is available)
I have an old device lying with me which i want to donate. I would like to flash it with f2fs but it seems the twrp recovery doesn't support it.
I was thinking of using ubuntu to flash f2fs via gparted but recovery doesnt mount the internal storage as usb mass storage.
How can i flash the internal storage of this device as f2fs ?
Device is micromax q380
