Mine is kind of different though, update to Android 9.0 was successful but the problem started after trying to downgrade my device.
I installed the EMUI 9.0 on my device using the HWOTA8_Mate10 method which was successful. The EMUI 9.0 ROM was from FirmwareFinder: ROM version ALP-L29C636E2R1P8B108-log (9.0.0.108). I didn't have any issues at all but since Huawei Mate 10's EMUI 9.0 is still in Beta, I decided to switch back to the stable EMUI 8.0.
Here's where the problem started... Since I want to downgrade, I went ahead and downloaded the 3 needed files (update.zip, update_all_hw, update_data_public) from FirmwareFinder: ROM version ALP-L29C636B143 (8.0.0.143). I fired up HWOTA8_Mate10 and started the installation process. The first step was to boot to fast boot and then plug the device, after that, the software asked me to unplug the device and press volume+ and power button but the device won't boot to recovery anymore. The device is now stuck at "Your device is booting now..." I tried rebooting the device but it won't work. Tried to go to eRevovery to wipe cache/factory reset but it will go back to "Your device is booting now..." page. I tried reinstalling the recovery.img via fastboot and tried to boot to recovery mode again but it won't work anymore. I believe my device is now soft bricked . I can still boot to fastboot, I even tried fastboot flash system system.img which was successful but the device still won't boot. Please help how to recover my device. I think I went too far and now I don't know how to fix this issue.

Download a full UPDATE.APP and pull the recovery from that.
Does the Honor 5C supports booting a recovery.img (fastboot boot <recovery.img>)? I don't want to flash it, just boot.
Hi, i have this problem: https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-5c/help/c900-to-c432-t3595210?nocache=1, and to solve it I have to put the TWRP. Do you think that both C900 and "hi6250" can create problems (soft or hard brick) or i can install the TWRP quietly?
but how do i get into twrp after install, vol down + power at boot ist not working. the device goes to a black screen with orange letters it says the device has been unlocked. with volume key up i can go to stock recovery if i wait 5 seconds it boots into android

Have you tried volume up + power button ?
I'm experiencing some trouble flashing TWRP (3.0.2 or 3.1.0) on my NEM-L51 with the new Android 7 OTA update.
I've already flashed TWRP twice on this phone, the first time with the original Android 5 and the other time after the Android 6 OTA update. I've always done it through adb/fastboot.
I remember having some hard time booting into TWRP after flashing it and I kept this note to myself for future attempts : after flashing TWRP with fastboot, invoke `fastboot reboot`, unplug the USB cable and keep the Volume up button pressed (do not press the Power button) while the phone is booting.
But it doesn't seem to work anymore. When I do that, my phone get stuck on the bootloader screen which says:
Your device has been unlocked and can't be trusted.

I've tried a hard reboot with Power + Volume up pressed after flashing TWRP but the result is the same (stuck at "booting now…" and I've tried to wait for at least 15 minutes).

No official TWRP for Nougat at the moment. However, you can see pretty much everywhere on the forum that you can use this unofficial variant instead : https://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p9lite/development/twrp-t3588356
Be careful though, as I stated several times before, there is an issue with restoring backups which still isn't solved at the moment. Stay away from this function and you should be fine. You can read more here : https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=72050040&postcount=78

I have been using custom ROM - Nitrogen OS for some months with no major issues. I decided to try Pixel Experience today and downloaded the ROM file.
In the process, I rebooted the device without having OS installed accidentally. I am able to go to FASTBOOT mode, but not able to install any OS. cmd - "fastboot flashing unlock" failed because the bootloaded is locked. How can I flash the twrp and boot it in recovery. Please help

I have officially unlocked the phone an year back. I used 3 ROMs between and settled up in Nitrogen for many months. I wanted to try pixel experience. I am yet to move the pixel experience zip to phone. I wiped out system and all user data using TWRP recovery. I am supposed to move the new ROM's zip to phone, install using TWRP and then reboot the device. But what I did was I wiped the system and booted without having any OS installed. I tried unlocking the bootloader in cmd prompt, but not working. So cant install new OS
Now i can not install any rom because the bootloader locked. I can not use the phone either as there is no OS. Force restarting the phone by long press power button stucks me in Mi logo.
Now what all i can do is have the screen on with either FASTBOOT or with Mi logo. Any miracle is possible only through cmd prompt. Have any help?

Thank you Black_Stark, it worked. Its very simple.
Note, the flashing worked only while the edl screen was open. I have tried flashing initial few attempts after closing the edl screen, which resulted error in mi flash tool.
Update: The phone booted good, however it is not detecting my sims and wifi not connecting. Any fix?

Hi. Anyone have problem installing TWRP here after upgrading to Android 10 V11.0.14.0.QFQMIXM_10.0? Mine always reverts to fastboot mode after flashing TWRP and I have to flash the rom again (as rebooting after that also enters into fastboot).

if you have unlocked bootloader, it's fairly easy to revive your device.
just flash stock rom and you're good to go..
My poco f1 has its bootloader unlocked, i tried to flash the updated ota updates via mi flash, but except the 9.6.22 (Oreo 8.1) version, none of the roms is letting me boot, some of the versions lets me go to the recovery but when i choose boot to system, it'll go back to fastboot, other versions like the latest 12 version wont let me even boot to the recovery, after booting to the 9.6.22 version, i tried applying the ota updates from settings, which updated the phone to 10.0.4 version, the phone booted after that correctly as well, but after the phone downloads and installs the v11 update, it again goes to fastboot with no way to access the recovery, i tried booting to twrp as well, which just shows me a black screen and nothing else. Does anyone know any solution to this issue? TIA
