Downgrading to Factory Stock Rom - Huawei Mate 10 Questions & Answers

I have Huawei Mate 10 with build alp-l29 8.0.0.131
I unlocked bootloader and rooted with supersu.
I realized I cannot play super mario run and android pay on rooted device.
I updated to alp-l29 8.0.0.132 without preparing for full unroot in supersu.
Then did a factory reset.
Now safety net has 3 ticks except last 1.
I can play super mario run, but cannot use Google pay.
Option 1: Please advise how can I lock my bootloader and install stock rom (preferably alp-l29 8.0.0.131)
Option 2: Root with magisk so that I can hide root from apps.
Can I use Google pay with magisk root?
Please help

Root free ROM/what passes Safetynet?

Hi guys,
I'm looking for a ROM that will pass the Safetynet checks but it seems these days everything is comes pre rooted. I've tried unrooting it (SuperSU app > uninstall root) but no luck.
Can anyone recommend a ROM or an unroot method that might work?
Just wondering what you're trying to achieve with the Safetynet check? Once I'd done "full unroot" on a few ROMs, I could quite comfortably play Pokemon Go on them, which allegedly uses a SafetyNet check.
For instance, I'm using Exodus now (with full unroot) but this has worked with many other ROMs too, such as SLIMrom.
Krexus-CAF is not rooted from memory, but it also is a little behind in security patches at the moment.
If you explain your end goal, someone might be able to help a little more!
Cheers
Thanks, it is to play pokemon go. I was using the magsik but since that stopped working and I don't use root for anything I thought I would just loose root. I've tried 4-5 ROMs including CM13, CM14 and exodus over the last few days bit no luck.
Would you share your full unroot method? what ever I'm doing I'm not doing right
have same question.
waiting for the best solution
Use Magist to bypass Safetynet
Try Magisk or System-less root.
If you really wish to fully unroot, go to SuperSU -> Settings and tap on unroot. It will unroot.
As you said you have already tried it the try this method :-
- Go to TWRP.
- Go to advanced page.
- Tap on File Manager.
- Browse to /system/bin/
- Delete su file.
That's all, you will be fully unrooted (no sure whether a word called unrooted is there! )
Good Luck :good:
Thank You!
Use magisk/suhide

Magisk has system less root,xposed,v4a,busybox
Works gr8 with miui 8 6.9.29
Finally a temporary working method to use Systemless Xposed and bypass SafetyNet
Get Pokemon back to work in latest safetynet upgrade.
The below procedure along with the above "Root Switch" apk will allow you to play Pokemon again.
Alternatively there is a new file/patch for suhide that passes the latest SafetyNet Update.
Finally a temporary working method to use Systemless Xposed and bypass SafetyNet
Above works on Xiaomi.eu 6.10.13 (MIUI), marked temporary because if SafetyNet gets update again, it will probably fail again.
Use Suhide v0.55 and systemless supersu v2.78 SR1.

I can't root my Oppo K1 nor instal custom recovery. Please help!

Hi. My phone is Oppo K1 (PBCM30) running Android 8.1.0 with ColorOS V5.2. I buy this phone through AliExpreess, since this phone not yet available in my country, thus give me ColorOS version which designed specifically for China region. I tried many attempt to root my phone with no avail. The closest way to ALMOST successfully root is to install Kingroot, but is is blocked by installation security with message "A high risk threat has been detected. The system has prohibited this installation. This app contain following risk: It contains the root permission, the highest phone permission, which once obtained by an app, can be use to maliciously control your phone." And before you ask, YES, I have enabled the Install From Unknown Source option.
Other way to root that I've tried is to flash SuperSU. But this way requires me to install custom recovery first, which of course impossible for me since the requirement to install custom recovery is the phone has been rooted. Besides, it look like there's no version of TWRP available for this phone yet. Another attempt (by Kingoroot, iRoot, and all kind of ways-to-root, both with and without PC) has failed miserably.
I love this phone, but it really drives me crazy with it's unrootable state. Please help me!!
It's don't make a sense
I mean, for flashing TWRP, my device need to be rooted, but for rooting my device, it need to flash TWRP first. How the heck I do that?

you can't use stock recovery you will need twrp
If you want to install magisk without twrp use the patch method
I have tried kingroot with no success it get stuck at 1%.
If I use magisk by patching the stock rom, then when an official samsung update comes out I can do it automatically as always?
By the way how can I check if the bootloader of my phone is unlocked ?

In develop section check to see if unlock option is there.
Download mode will tell you OEM state as well as KG/RMM state
If you modify your phone you won't get updates. Have to do manually.
Be aware rooting you phone will trip your knox. Won't be able to use knox related functions like secure folder, samsung pass, shealth etc.

ACtually I need root to try to recover some files on the internal memory with some data recovery programs...after that I don't need root anymore so maybe I could go back to full stock?

Once your modified phone knox will be tripped even when flash firmware again. There is no fix for a tripped knox.
If trying to recover lost files then using the patched method with magisk is a better option then using twrp.
I don't have much experience with recovering lost files as i have not had the need for it but i would try some non root methods first before rooting.
If you decide to root your phone you can unroot by magisk or flashing stock firmware.
Always backup your phone before doing anything.
Sadly all these program (one of the most famous is Dr. Fone) that go scanning the memory for deleted files need the privileges of root so I think that without rooting the phone it's not possible to do it anyway if I would lost the knox securty by rooting I'm not that happy too
"You may try looking into Extreme Syndicate root. It's used on the Snapdragon variants to root with a locked bootloader, so it doesn't trip Knox. I don't know if it will work on Exynos, but worth a look."
Editing doesn't work right on my phone. This won't work.

Question Keeping Root after OTA?

Hi, how do I keep magisk and keep my realme gt rooted after an OTA? Last time I had an OTA I updated and my root + magisk were gone, I had to make a backup of my phone and reroot and reinstall magisk. I don't want to go through that process again, and on magisk there is an option to install to inactive slot, but I am scared to try it since this is my only phone and if its bricked then i'm screwed, and it doesn't seem like anyone else has tried it. My PC was reset so I would have to get all the adb and fastboot drivers and stuff all over again and I would probably mess something up somehow. I need root because I use Google Pay often.
My phone is a Realme GT 5G converted from CN to EU, with Magisk 24.3 (not alpha I switched from alpha to stable)
after going through this:https://topjohnwu.github.io/Magisk/ota.html I can't even do the Magisk app → Uninstall → Restore Images step since it comes up with an error message saying something isn't found
Thanks if anyone can help
