I have had my M5 for a week now and yesterday a mysterious cleaning app sometimes appears out of nowhere and is cleaning the RAM I think? It's a round circle with a timer and disappears after a few seconds.
I remember my Honor View 10 did the same and I found and find it highly irritating.
What is this (Huawei?) app and how can I disable it?
If it is an EMUI feature rather than from an app you downloaded, I'm guessing it is either the "AppCleanUpService" or the "AutoCleanService" from the Tablet Manager app. If so, you might be able to alter settings inside the Tablet Manager app. If rooted, you can use Service Disabler to disable those services.

Hi folks,
I have a peculiar problem. I'm using Tasker to kill some apps. One of the apps has a persistent notification icon and it refuses to be killed (even with root). The notification icon is gone for a second but will always come right back. Using pstree I tried to find out if there was a watchdog process keeping the app alive, but I found none. Also it is not hooked to any events according to Autorun manager. A force close under "app management" always works.
What is going on?
This seems like an answer that has been asked before. So off course I have searched. I found similar questions (examples: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1854858 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2040841 ) but no answers.
Who can help me? I'm really at a dead-end.
what app is it? Some apps (especially system apps) can't be closed, and if does gets killed, OS programs it to restart almost immediately after it's been killed.

This is actually Android-by-design. Apps are supposed to be killed from time to time to conserve resources (e.g. memory), and also restarted transparently to the user. This is handled by the ActivityManager. You can view it as Android swappes app's instead of swapping memory. This to improve the real time performance of the device. When someone calls you, you don't want to wait half a minute for the phone to swap out Angry Birds before it can load the Phone app ...
Hence, killing app's will most often only give very short term effect.
Hi,
in our company we use MobileIron to check the emails. MobileIron has an own app ([email protected]), which is similar to Play Store. From this app we can install the e-mail client (Nine Work or Email+) and the secure company browser ([email protected]), but on EMUI 9.0 it does not work.
We can see the install button in this app, but if we click on it, it does not do anything, so we can't install this apps.
Earlier we had a similar problem on Sony phones, when a custom theme was activated.
We tested it on a Huawei Mate 20 and on a Huawei Mate 20 pro, and we have a same issue.
what we tried:
- tried with default theme
- tried with guest profile
- tried with reseted phone
- unknown sources were always enabled
Something on these new phones preventing to press the install button in this app.
Any idea?
Do you have any app installed that can draw over your current screen? I had the same problem with a blue light filter app, took me hours to figure out. If any app draws something over your screen for security reasons the install button gets disabled.

I don't now about such apps. Maybe default huawei app?
Hi XDA
In my phone ulefone armour 6 is killing background app.
This app is my smart watch app n it notify me about notification.
But this phone is killing app in background .
I have added it in whitelist not to kill in background
But still it's killing it
Please suggest any app or setting to keep app running in background
Per chance...
In my Armour x5, I learnt that permissions technically has another name... notifications.
Google play protect will be preventing your app from running. In my x5, disabling play protect looks like it works, but it comes back on itself immediatly upon closing it's on off switch...
I learnt that by disabling notifications for play protect, that it stays turned off due to requiring notifications. Without notifications, it will NOT run, and I'm betting this is your answer
If not, become a developer and check background process limit, increase should you need to
Spoon feeding is good when your poor, a welcome thing
I have an OPPO A77. Some time ago I installed an app called "All-In-One Toolbox: Storage/Cache Cleaner, Booster" by AIO Software Technology CO., Ltd
Semi regularly, and seemingly randomly, it loaded over the top of whatever app I was using at the time. I looked into stopping this to no avail. I eventually got sick of this and uninstalled it. Very shortly after, it still attempted to load, but couldn't of course... so now it goes to the app in Google Play store, with the 'Install' option. And I get a toast message "App not installed". This is seemingly as regular and random as the original app loading.
How do I get rid of this pest?
I find this phone doesn't seem to follow the rules. It allows some apps to run when they want, and others that I want running, are killed regularly and can't do their job, like Automatic Call Recorder and Who's Calling. I've tried Autostart and Keep Alive apps, but of course, they get killed to!
Regards
Wayne

with regards to AIO's All-In-One Toolbox: Storage/Cache Cleaner, Booster :
this app installs as user-app. If you uninstall it then it gets completely removed, no residues remain. Have tested it.
IMHO, if using mobiles with Android Lollipop and up, installing apps like this is absolute nonsense: the claimed features on the whole are fake. Android is smart enough to manage usage of its resources ( RAM / CPU ) correctly. And Android by default decides what apps to keep running in background.

Yep. I found it pretty useless, and annoying with its regular popping up. So what do I have to do to stop it trying to run even after its removed? Is there some debug info I can provide that may help trace the source with a view to fixing it?

If you're on Android 7 and up to see what apps are running you open Android's Settings->Developer Option, navigate to Running Services: 2 lists are available, i.e. Running and/or cached.
The OPPO menu is all over the place. I found the Services list, but there was nothing that seemed relevant to this app. Anywhere else to look?
Let's collect our discovered bugs of this device. Here are mine:
Default Launcher setting is lost upon reboot. In my case I set Hypersion as default, reboot and the setting is gone. I have to reset and sometimes eben force close the stock launcher or I will still end up on stock when I go back from an app.
GPS coordinates are often wrong in exif of taken photos.
Android Auto freezes as soon as the phone goes into standby.
9gag stays empty and needs to be closed if it was in background.
Google Photos is super laggy due to scoped storage limitations in Android 11. Especially while deleting pictures. Maybe not an device specific issue.
Gboard overlays on places it shouldn't, in any app, only way to fix is to close the app completely.
Game Space app resets everytime I restart my phone, additionally, unhides games, meaning I've gotta flick the switch each time.
Oppo App Market, when I update a app and press install, the install prompt repeatedly refreshes even if the apps installed successfully, only resolve is to close the app completely, and refresh the update page.
Notification panel stays grey even with enhanced dark mode.
App drawer cannot be customized at all, not even row layout.
Swipe up gestures seem to have a hang when swiping up from the centre, also affects keyboard too.
UI glitches in certain apps.
Oppo App Market now persistently requests read app usage permission.
File Manager has a hang upon opening varies between 1-4 seconds.
Microphone volume on social media applications is ridiculously low.
I realize that app drawer customisation & notification panel colour, aren't bugs, however they're very annoying.
Where do we report bugs to Oppo? Cant find it anywhere
Pressing "Close all" disconnects Garmin watch, as it seems to shutdown Bluetooth in the process. Reported to Oppo. No response.

It does not shutdown Bluetooth but the plugin app that is running in the background and is needed to communicate with the watch. Same thing with Samsung active plugin - when I hit close all I get a notification that the plugin restarted itself.

I just sent them an email to their Australian support email address.
There are plenty in the Color OS 11 update. Here's another one... Using "Keep screen on while charging" in Developer Options to circumvent the annoying Android Auto issue, and Navigation pops up with no way of canceling it, even after the phone is disconnected from USB. The only way to get rid of this notification is to restart the phone. Oppo really shouldn't have pushed such a buggy update without proper testing.
Edit... Seems this bug doesn't even need to have android auto activated, just charging via my car's USB port will trigger the navigation bug. Any way to rollback to Android 10? More problems than this is worth.

Don't know about that but personally I don't see any reason to ever hit "close all" in the first place.
Good evening from France to the whole XDA community!
I have a problem on my Oppo Find X2 PRO: it often happens that when I call or someone calls me, no sound is picked up by the phone when I speak. My caller can't hear me.
I wonder if this is related to the use of a Bluetooth device (my speaker, my headset) before?
Has anyone experienced this problem and if so, how did they solve it?
I would add that a simple reboot is enough to correct the problem...
