Hi, I've bought Sony Xperia xz1 a few time ago, and I liked it so much. But when I started gaming in it( pubg mobile), I noticed that sometimes more, sometimes less, the touch starts being unresponsive or not that sensitive. This happened sometimes a lot and visible, sometimes less and quite unrecongizable. I've tried update software, software repair by Xperia companion bit nothing happened. So I thinked it was an hardware issue, so I send it back to Amazon for a new one. The new xz1 has been great for a week, with no touch issues while gaming, but yesterday the story started again. The first time was a very light problem, but now becomes worse and worse like before. I don' t know what to do and Google seems knowing nothing about it. I hope Android pie will solve this. Does someone know something about this problem?

I would like to know if anyone have similar issue?
It wasn't as noticeable or i just can't remember if it does this before i updated with wolf cynomod 6.13 v4-v5 2-3 months ago on stock.
But lately, i found my phone shut off itself whenever it start heating up. I got a temperature measure app from market but it doesn't show me what exact temperature when it does this.
For example, after 5-10 min use of google earth, my phone will shut off and reboot.
Is there a way to fix this issue? or could this be an issue with my battery ?
It issue is heating because i have a plastic case with x10 in it, it would shut off 5 min after use with it and 10 min after use without it.
Sorry if another topic like this existed, i did a search and couldn't find any. Maybe i just got the wrong keywords.
yeah i experience the same issue ever since official 2.1 update came out. Figured it was just the phone called SE and they said its not Software issue but a Hardware issue and send it in with Proof of purchase.
My batter does heat up specially when im playing games and have it charging.
i read something about faulty the motherboard on some X10's.
Im never tried to replace the battery if u wanna give it a try and let us know if that helped you or not.
mine has restarted with no WLOD it's just weird but still no overheating
I changed my charger from Stock to the universal SE charger. Then I never faced any battery heating issues
I had the same issue with my Xperia X10. I had bought it from random guy without warranty. But i had luck that guy wasnt bad, and he came after 1 hour i called him, and gave me a new one Xperia. Now when i play 3D graphic games, it heat as hell , but never restart , if u have warranty go to SE and tell them about your problem , they should replace your motherboard and it should work good . Good luck in solving this problem. ( And sorry for my bad english )
I think it is a issue with the battery being able to deliver enough power on some devices. Mine has a tendency to restart when moving around, especially with wifi and GPS enabled. When I leave work, where we have a company wifi, the phone often turns off around the point when I pass out of the coverage area if I have wifi enabled. Wifi off is never a problem. I would expect that if it lost connection, it would try to send at full power to connect to another source.
This never happens if I drive, and plug it into my car charger. Therefor I think it might be the battery that is not able to power my GPS wifi and bluetooth at the same time...
This is a battery issue. Mine never had a problem but my friend's phone would heat up like that and shut down. Replaced the battery and all is good.
Does this problem problem always happens? I'm doubting if buying this cellphone or not. The problem of the heat makes me doubt.
What do you think about that? It happens always?
Thank you for the information.
No Problem
I have a WT19a and I can say it heats up a little just in games when overclocking is done. the battery is around 40 º C temperature. It also relies heavily on the country in which it lives. Here is my country lives in tropical temperature then normal for my living with an average temperature of 30 ° C. . Is quiet because it can not hurt not. The good thing is that he amazes the humidity inside the unit too.
I am very satisfied with my unit.
WT19a GB ROM Original Version 2.3.4
I have Xperia Mini Pro and I also encountered overheat problem. Phone's charging stops at 70% after 12-14 hrs and it becomes extremaly warm, also touchscreen didn't work properly. This manual helped me ^^
But if we us that manual you said, the problem gets solved? or it returns sometimes?
It only happens in "extreme" situtions like games, and big processing? Or overheat happens when you ar in "regular" activity?
Thank you.
On newer smartphones, hard usage(gaming for example) does increase the temperature and it is completely normal, however I have never experienced problems with touch screen.
Long time ago, I also used custom kernel to overclock and then play, temperature went higher indeed(battery was over 40 degrees Celsius), but I still didn't have any problems, even though I didn't play for long time, but only for 20 minutes, to prevent damage to mainboard.
Phone is Live with Walkman WT19i.
But i can see that most of you use the WT19i cellphone. I think i'm going to buy the SK17i. Would I have the same problems?
Thank you for helping me

Nope because I own an Xperia Mini Pro
Sometime, there is a little problem with back button when you have many application running at once. The problem is when you press back button,it delay the back function, example I run many application, then I press back button nothing happen, after 3-4 seconds my phone vibrate and goes back...but I assume this as normal and about the overheat : Every phone does and my phone never ever got touchscreen problem when it is overheat
I have a Xperia mini pro and have no problems related to the touchscreen, concerning the warmth problem it works as expected, and as all my phpnes did so far...then again I dont paly alot aside from emulators...regards
Sent from my Xbox360 using the PS3 Browser...wait what??
Hi guys, I have got this phone for only 3 months, and the garbage started playing me up with back light. Does anyone have the similar problem. Phone is working perfectly in the morning, but after a while (5-6 minutes) back light is stopping. I bought this phone from HK, and I was told by the retailer to make any video with that issue, but bloody hell, today I didn't have a problem, and last night I was using my phone in dark room, sad.
I tried to fix it via PC Companion, but no improvement. Does anyone know whether that issue commin' from bad OLED display, or some connector. Definitely it's not software problem, because I'm running the latest android. Should I try first to contact Sony Australia, or I need to prepare for "long trip" with HK.
Thanks guys for suggestions.
My S3 has I think started dieing on me. It was mainly when playing games but can happen randomly now, especially more so when I play games (which I now don't!). The screen starts to 'flicker', the picture remains but it's like the light across the screen flickers and then if it crashes (most of the time) and I reboot the phone the battery is nearly non existent. If the phone doesn't crash/reboot the signal is gone so it stops being a phone until I reboot.
Is this a case that the phone is broken? I'm not going to repair if so but if it's something I can easily fix then I'd like to do so!
I've flashed a couple of different ROMs as I thought that may be the case at first but it's the same on all I've tried.
I had to get the USB repaired recently as it stopped charging so I'm wondering if the phone is just on it's way out, which is disappointing as I've kept it in mint condition and it's only like 18 months old!
Replace the battery first.
Thanks I'll give that a try!
So I've been experiencing the same issue disucussed here on reddit

Basically, after the phone has been one for a few hours to a day or so, the figerprint senor essentially acts like it doesnt exist. Even the fingerprint manager disapears from the system menues. Restarting the phone usually brings it back, but not always. I've seen some people attribute it to heat, but my phone rarely gets hot.
It really feels like a software issue. I contacted sony about this issue, and they say they are aware of it, but all they can really offer is to use the sony Xperia companion program to wipe the phone.
It might help to mention that i am rooted and unlocked bootloader. However, my phone has been for months before this issue started. I don't feel like those two things are connected.
It doesn't feel like a hardware issue. But does anyone have an idea what the issue might be?
I have the same problem as you. Neither a wipe nor a different firmware helped me eventually.
I sadly learned to live with it.
Is it after a few hours no matter what, or have you noticed it stop working after charging? Cuz a bad charger can knock it out, though usually only while charging but it's possibly you have a charger that causes it to stop working until reboot?

I think for me, it is, no matter what it becomes faulty after a while, been using the original Sony charger + cable.
But I have a substitute that I can try, thank you for the info.
I've officially gotten to a point where neither a reboot nor safe mode brings it back.
It's such a weird issue. This phone won't be as easy to take apart as my previous phones.

I still hope that Sony will release a Software Update that fixes it …
Hello Everybody,
Same here, i updated to the last version 61.2.A.0.418.
I have the Xperia 1 Mark III UK version. I did a Factory Reset, and the fingerprint sensor works from time to time and stops working completely.
Then I did a hard reset and format, from Xperia Companion. Also with the same result.
It is the third time that I completely reinstall it using Xperia Companion.
- The fingerprint sensor does not work and if you restart the system it works for a short period of time.
- Another thing that I have noticed is that the problem that the Gmail application does not receive notifications of new emails (despite being turned on and configured) has also returned as it happened in other firmware updates.
- And finally, it only happened to me once but the notification LED turn on in blue light and did not go off until I did a forced shutdown.
I don't know what is happening, why this update has broken so many things. I hope sharing this will help others.
It seems to be an electrical noise design defect. My original Xperia 1 III rebooted if it had a fingerprint set, the screen off, and was fast charging with the factory charger. It self-destructed while sending it in for repairs and SBE made false claims that I had altered the firmware. I exchanged it and the replacement has issues too. I can pick up the phone off the table and it says the fingerprint reader is disabled from too many attempts. The touchscreen sometimes goes crazy too. Tap-to-wake is essentially run-battery-dead-because-screen-never-turns-off.
The other issues in this thread are software bugs, probably with the low-memory-killer. This is definitely not my favorite phone.
I have a UK 1 III and have not really had any problems with the finger print scanner, it struggles to open the phone if the screen is off, but if I pick the phone up and the screen comes on, it unlocks every time using the scanner. I have not modded the phone or changed software and have had the phone for just over 2 years.
Hi I wonder if anyone has tried to replace the fingerprint sensor and flex cable to try to fix it. These could be bought for like 10 dollars together in China so might be worth a try!
