Hello everyone…
I have a Galaxy S9 plus SM-G965F that came with a branded firmware with Security patch of agoust. I flashed a stock firmware without brand ITV with security patch of October.
Since I've flashed it I noticed that the signal is a little lower than before.
My question is this, can I flash the modem (CP) of the previous firmware even if it is from an older security patch firmware?
Will this flash trigger the Knox counter?
Thanks a lot and forgive me for my bad English...

Today I flashed CP from PSN rom (it´s my network operator) in a CHO ROM without problems and not tripping knox...
Flashing firmware shouldn't trip Knox, only unlocking/rooting it.

It's been almost a month since left the ROM for Poland, and so far, just over 35 ROMs were released. Why so long? I'm in Brazil, here not even launched the Galaxy Note II already out and upgrade to Jelly Bean. Meanwhile, no sign of Jelly Bean for the Galaxy S3 in Brazil.
I'm sorry if I posted in the wrong place for my question.
Sorry for my English.
The Brazilian JB for S III might not be released until late January or Febrary.
Yet, when it is released, it will not be the latest version of JB, but one that is older than what other countries will have by then.
For your information, the Brazilian CSCs are: ZTA (Claro), ZTV (Vivo), ZTO (open / unbranded), ZTM (Tim) and ZVV (Oi).
You don't need, however, to wait for Samsung Brasil to do us a favor: just flash the UK unbranded (CSC -> BTU) ROM, using Odin3 and don't worry about it again.
All stock ICS and JB contains all languages (including Pt-BR) and the ROM I mentioned works flawlessly in Brazil. I am using it right now.

I know i could install any ROM ever released. But i do not want to put another ROM on my Galaxy S3. I want to keep it as original as possible. I had a Galaxy S2 before S3, and installed an uninstalled all ROMs as possible, but in my Galaxy S3 want to keep it original. I know it will not install official ROMs increment the counter. What i do no understand is why they are taking so long.
But i appreciate your explanation.
Thank you
Does your carrier have any kind of restriction for rooting and flashing your cellphone? If not, it's pretty much irrelevant what your binary counter says.
You can always reset the binary counter to 0 and set system to official using Triangle away if you're worried about warranty.

Why? What is the point of that?
You'll just have a device that is always outdated and with uncorrected bugs.

Hello, sorry for the (a bit) irrelevant question but does flashing through Odin the UK unbranded one (while I have another country's official ROM unmodified), increase my counter or ruin my warranty?

No. Install original ROM does not increment the counter.

I know, I just want to leave it as original as possible. On my Galaxy S2 I always installed by Odin ROMs without any problem and reset the counter with Triangle Away. But I really want to use the Jelly Bean, I'll install the ROM UK.
thank you

No, it doesn't. If you need to RMA the phone, just flash the ROM for your carrier/country and it's as original as it gets and THERE IS NO WAY they can find out you ever had a different ROM in there.
Do you do any changes to the rom? LIke CSC or modem?
Sometime today i get a new s9+ it will come with the vodafone uk bloatware on, if i was to flash the btu firmware would that count as unofficial firmware and trip knox?
No, so long as you don't root your phone, you should be fine.
Thats good to know
I dont suppose anyone has yet made an app that allows you to remove system apps without root?
Package disabler pro. You'll have to search for it.
Hi Melliwuk - did you end up flashing your phone to BTU? What was your experience? I have S9+ (SM-G965F) and am on an O2/O2/O2 CSC and want to switch to BTU, but like you don't want to trip Knox! TIA

Flashing official Samsung firmware with Odin will never trip KNOX, only flashing custom software like roms, kernels and recovery will trip KNOX.

As @gee2012 said above, flashing official firmware won't trip Knox.
You just flash the firmware files in Odin. It's quite straight forward. Follow this guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...ficial-stock-firmware-thread-samsung-t3764479
You can download the latest BTU firmware here: https://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model?record=C397FC9F516E11E89F15FA163EE8F90B
Many thanks for the confirmation and the links @gee2012 and @the_scotsman!
hey but do we have the same problem like the s8? I mean with the CSC code, that if i flash the BTU I will have the default CSC and for have problems with samsung pay?
Hi, I just got Galaxy S9+ and it is bloated with LG Uplus menu and apps. Model version is SM-G965N and when i look for firmware in Sammobile only few firmwares are shown. (KOO, LUC, SKC, KTC)
Can I download KOO firmware and flash with Odin to get rid of carrier bloats and return to stock?
I heard that S9 and S9+ have some problems changing CSC. But if i flash like this, would it be considered changing CSC. Would it work to flash with odin like this?
Is there anyone who knows answer to this?
I also want to do the same thing on my s9 plus. can anyone help please ... thanks

just so i have this straight, youre using a Samsung S9+ on a LG cellular service? thats awesome!! the 965N has the Exynos processor, to the best of my recollection, and you can verify this by installing CPU-Z. If it is, you should be able to flash the G965F firmware on it. I have a S9 that i got from Cricket and installed the G960U firmware on it, debranding it and im satisfied with the result. You will likely need the patched version of Odin in order to flash any firmware on it to debrand it. Verify the processor via CPU-Z and we can go from there

G965N with LGU + firmware too And I want to unbrand it too.
i did it already, and went back to stock.
the service guy installed twrp, then installed custom rom- based on 965F/DS- everything was fine. except no 5.8ghz wifi connection, no OTA update menu.
Hi,
Really noob question here.
If I change the XSG ROM that comes with my phone by flashing the BTU ROM on it, does it trips knox?
XSG takes too long to get updates and I would like to switch to BTU, but keep everything legal and working.
I make use of knox so I don't want to loose any secure feature, plus I want to keep it same as I bought it.
Thanks!
PS: If I flash BTU ROM, do I have to reset before or after flashing o I can continue using it like I was with XSG?
Sent from S.G. S9+ Duos
Flashing official roms doesn't void warranty, nor does it trip knox. If you flash HOME_CSC, your device won't be wiped, if you flash the other CSC, your phone will be wiped.
I know the question has been here before, but i dont seem to find a answer on my specific question:
I'm the Owner of a Galaxy S9+ - It's a "NEE" region
I want to flash the German (DBT) region firmware. Will this mess up the phones KNOX? It's official firmware from Sammy
Flashing a different region firmware, will this mess up the "modem" regarding the bands and etc.? I live in Denmark
I wish you all to have a great day out there
You can flash dbt version with no problem! Knox will not be affected and your csc will be nee !!!
