Hey everyone,
I have SERIOUS audio problems on certain apps on my Mate 20 Pro.
The sound is getting saturated and hashed and is unbearable to listen to.
Happened to me on those apps for now :
Monster Super League
Voez
Piffle
Am I the only one getting this issue ? Do any of you guy got any fix ?

I've just recently got my Mate 20 pro and experiencing it in:
Boxing Star
Toy Blast
I downloaded the apps you said and also hearing the same distorted sound on my device..
Most of the big games (like Candy crush etc) seem to work fine and deliver the music in the game perfectly. I assume this is a software issue? Does anyone else have any insight?
I do aswell on bullet force and forward assault (same dev). Its weird it only happens on games

I would blame either the games (tiny amateur devs maybe), or change the dolby atmos settings from auto to movie or music.
On reflection, brand new accounts lead me to believe this is a troll thread. Have you dropped your phones or do you use these games whilst under water?
no definetley not troll thread. i have also emailed huawei about this issue. i switched from samsung note 8 to 20 pro and loved playing mini golf king which is now sound distorted. hopefully they will fix this problem soon.

I downloaded that toy blast game just to test, as I don't play games on my phone. The sound is distorted and my account isn't new and I aint got no time or interest in "trolling"

Same here, I read that this was the game that broke thru all sorts of records on the Apple App market (earning the developers over £250K). So its here on Android, and lo and behold, it's just an above average game.
Not to belittle it though, but it isn't really all that spectacular!
Now for anyone who has played any NFS (need for speed) game on PC, then played their android conversion; now that's excellence! although relatively short (in terms of Zones) it achieves all the right marks in terms of cars, upgrades, unlocks, and Gyro sensitivity control! (not wibble-wobbling all over the place, unlike other racers).
Just found out, you can pinch-to-zoom to see the whole play area for bird-launch!
Still tedious though!!
With the force close, you don't even need to reboot. As bizarre as this sounds, just keep your finger on the screen when it's on the splash screen.
Not a clue why this works, just seems the force close is a problem with the game losing input focus or something.
Agreed, it's not the best.
Howerver to be fair it's still one of the better ones out there.
My wife has got Asphalt5 (102mb!) and krazy kart racing from the 'Samsung Apps' application on her Galaxy S, full versions for free as well!
I've borrowed them to test them out on the Streak and they're pretty good in playability
The game is ok, but nobody ever said it was anything special just a funny time killer. I have seen the effect of it at work, quick to play with 0 skill and makes people laugh with the cutsey pig and bird gfx. Im sure it will sell on android too and Im glad iphone developers are finally taking an interest in Android and will port some of the better apps..

Exactly! The truth is there are many more iphone devs out there than Android for now, and if they were smarter they would learn how to port to Android if just for the money. The thing about Angry Birds is that is still one of the most downloaded games for the app market. I loved it myself, but I took it for what it was from the beginning...... a 99 cent distraction that was also challenging at times. Yes it fails after splash sometime, but it is BETA for FREE.
An update is available and since I updated I haven't had a single crash
i have this game on iphone and galaxy s, and when it comes to playing this game in dell streak, when u throw the bird its very very blurry and im guessing its because of the 30fps plague , im actually thinking about returning this back because even when u move icons across the screen to.fast its like your throwing the icon with a rope ,

I play it on my streak, and then on my gal's iphone 4 and while the 4 is more responsive, the graphics do not look any better........not sure what's running on your phone, but you are seeing something that others aren't. This sounds like the old dpi arguments and the fact that magazines can't even print as high as people's camera's can take photos...........
angrybirds on iphone 4 is not compatable with retna display yet so it looks like crap, you should be comparing 3gs angry birds, and its smooth as butter, if u hold the streak a arms.length away the birds looks good, but up close u can see a big diffrence on why people with a htc evo had a heart attack with a 30fps cap alooot more people own that phone, some cant notice and some people can, it depends on your eyes i guess, my friend has a streak to and its identical to mine aswell, he never noticed the 30fps.issue untill i showed him an iphone 4 and a samsung gs scrollinga compared to a dell streak home screen scrolling , and yes movies are nice on a dell streak due ti movies being a lil under 30 fps anyways, i also did a scrolling comparison with opera mini and the dell streak cant even handle smooth scrolling with that,

well the problem isnt when the screen is stagnant so if i took a screen shot it would look just fine , its when u fling the birds , ( fast movement) is not smooth at all almost blurry, for example, if u move an icon across the screen very slowly the icon will follow your finger just fine, however if u move the icon across the screen very fast, its impossible for the streak to keep up with your finger due to the 30fps plague ,
its like mozilla with out smooth scrolling , when u scroll the screen its choppy, but when u select smooth scroll , its smooth as butter,

Why do you want to prove a point to someone who says it's not blurry and they are happy with it? There's a thread or complaint about this issue in multiple places on the web and I feel like if someone is bothered with it, and there isn't a fix, then don't buy the Streak because it doesn't fit your needs...........if it doesn't bug you and you are happy then buy it?? It's like buying a 3.5" screen phone and complaining that it's not 5"..........

Wow no one is complaining, I'm trying to help u understand an issue that the dell steak has, if you like your device then my comments are not for you obviously, i even spoon feed you a video of proof that 60fps is far suppirior than 30 fps, if you like the 30fps cap then all power to you,

Had the Prime for a month or so and I do really like it. But i've got a few questions that would improve my experience. Sorry to be a n00b.
Firstly, is there any good services where I can stream music and movies to the Prime? I don't mind within reason any subscriptions etc
Secondly, Splashtop is meant to be good for gaming over LAN. But most games i've tried don't work at all. I've tried games like Minecraft but the camera just spins around in circles. I thought i'd try C&C but with no right click it just doesn't seem possible. Can anyone recommend and games that work well over Splashtop?
Finally, are there any good 3D games for the Prime? I've got the usual ones, GTAIII, Riptide, Gunslinger etc

as for videos, i've got netflix and love it, even got rid of my cable provider and use an appletv with netflix and save a pile of cash a month.
try slacker radio for music.

Well, I've tried Spotify but didn't really like the overall audio quality. Depending on the kind of music you like I can heartly recommend di.fm (Digitally Imported), but the only play electronic music. Both services have paid and free options, I've used the premium for both. I've ditched Spotify, still use di.fm.
I'm not really into games, sorry... so can't really comment you on this. Both streaming and native... :-(
I just run into a problem a couple times now, and I was wondering, if someone else had the same problem...
I have videos / Podcasts that seem to have a very annoying crackle noise in it... video does not stodder... or anything, what would indicate bad playback or something... also it does not seem to be only if volume is set high... i do use my headphones with it...
Now in the begginning i thought i might just be a bad recorded show.... but this morning i heard it with a different show... and its very annoying... now this still might be a coincident... I will see if the video plays fine on my PC... but until then I was just wondering if anyone else have issues with crackleing sound while video playback...
The only time I had this was during playback of AAC 5.1 on video (MKV) files. If you have this in ALL your apps, I wonder if you have a faulty phone? Sounds like a weird one!
You said you use headphones, so the problem occurs with AND without using the 3.5mm jack w/ headphones?
Well i actually havnt tried without the headphones... But if would be odd if it had anything to do with that since some videos go flawless with them.... The only 2 video players I have is rock player and podcast player dogcatcher.... Any other suggestions on players?

See if it happens on headphones too. If it is only through speakers, possible defective speakers? If it is both, it could just be the media or perhaps something with the audio decoder?
I am no expert so take my advice with a grain of salt.
Also, try DicePlayer and see if that works.
Download Pandora or Slacker radio and see if it happens through that, too. If it does, there's definitely something wrong!!

Do you know if your podcasts are 5.1 channel? I wouldn't think they would be, but if they're 5.1 and AAC that would align with my problem.

I had the same issue when I downloaded Max Payne 3 a few days ago. The menu screen starts crackling horribly, and at least one other Evo Lte user confirmed the same.

this is sooo funny i wanted to state the exacte same thing just started playing max payne myself... and wondered is that is part of the game or that darn crackleing again... so any idea where that comes from !???

If you use Linux you can convert it to an MPG file using ffmpeg command, it will lower the file size, keep the aspect ratio and quality; that get's rid of the cracking noise in my case.
No, I I am a windows guy..... Would I've to know what the problem is..... So re encoding might help with video files.... But what do I do with games.... Like mentioned.... There must be a better solution, and or?

I have this same issue, especially with Max Payne and Grand Theft Auto 3.
I haven't had the cracking else where, though.
It seems hit or miss so I may take my phone to sprint to try to get it replaced.

I've scoured the web, but it seems 50/50 that some people do, some people don't have the issue, so I feel like it's most likely faulty hardware (or people are just putting up with crappy audio, but I find that hard to believe, as we all pay so much for these devices they should work properly, especially with beats audio premium advertisements).
I'll let you know what I find when I go in to the store...
i have it crackle when playing 720p video on my evo. the only video i have is an mp4 and it crackles in every video player except for dice player. but now that i think about it, could it be due to the beats audio eq? im gonna try it without beats and report back.
edit: nope it isn't beats. turned it on and off and tested playing on speaker and through headphones on both and it made no difference. i might go as far as to say that this is a kernel issue since that has a lot to do with video playback. and considering this is a new phone i should be worked out in the future (given that it is in fact a kernel issue)
edit edit: it may also be worth noting that mx player and dice player seem to have no problem playing video as long as you use the software decoding instead of hardware decoding

also keep in mind that some of the apps may need so changing in order to work. i have seen quite a few apps in the market that after they updated say in the description "evo 4g lte users please uninstall and reinstall to clear up some problems"
so i would give it some time to see if it clears. and like i said i don't think its the phone but rather the kernel because if you play a youtube video or play music through the speaker, its crystal clear. if it was the phones speaker that was damaged then you would hear it all the time rather then in a few apps and while playing movies.

True, good point.
I was worried that perhaps it's some kind of interplay between the gpu and audio systems, as it was predominantly in games.
Nearly resolved just need the following confirmed :
1.Shadowgun/Dead Trigger works smoothly.
2.Temple Run works flawlessly.
3.1280x720(yes 720p) mp4,mkv,m4v videos play via stock player smoothly(i.e video&audio in sync , no artifact in videos)
4.Does the phone feel slow or lagging.

what do you mean by Heavy ? I might play heaviest is Dead Trigger or World of goo(graphics very intensive) or ShadowGun and ofcourse Temple Run. how do they work

The video on youtube you keep referring to shows a Samsung Galaxy S3 having trouble with those games. Now remember, just buying a Samsung Galaxy S3 will set you back about 50% of the money a desktop pc would cost that IS able to run more demanding 3D graphics and better suited to play games that have those graphics.
Now I have nothing against gaming, I do it myself all the time, but I do it on my home pc, which is much more comfortable. The makers of these games are not going to spend the amounts they do on desktop versions of their games for the development of phone versions of their games, because the market is much smaller and the price they can ask it is much lower. I understand you're angry that you spent (unless you just downloaded a cracked apk lol) money on them, but I'd stick to simpler ones if you really want to game on your phone. Just for kicks, I tried Punch Hero and it ran just fine. Reminded me of playing Punch-Out on the Nintendo 8-bit as a kid.

Now I have nothing against gaming, I do it myself all the time, but I do it on my home pc, which is much more comfortable. The makers of these games are not going to spend the amounts they do on desktop versions of their games for the development of phone versions of their games, because the market is much smaller and the price they can ask it is much lower. I understand you're angry that you spent (unless you just downloaded a cracked apk lol) money on them, but I'd stick to simpler ones if you really want to game on your phone. Just for kicks, I tried Punch Hero and it ran just fine. Reminded me of playing Punch-Out on the Nintendo 8-bit as a kid.

I play Asphalt 7 and Riptide GP with no issues here. Re One V make sure you can live with 512MB or RAM if you go for that. It won't get an official JB update either (due to the RAM limitation).

Ok going out on a limb here and saying you don't have nfs compatible with desire x on the play store...
PS another query what is the highest resolution of videos that you can play stock and with an app say mx player...

If you check the forum, you'll find another post about this ...
To my experience, bottom line on the Desire X and video : the Desire X plays up to 1080p, both streaming and from storage, without problems. I tested different media players, best ones are MX Player and Vplayer and tested all resolutions. In mp4 format, playing from storage, most of the players have audio/video sync issues. Not in flv 1080p, so it's down to the software. Streaming, just using stock Youtube app, all of them work fine.
When specs say the Desire X supports only up to 480p, it just means that's it's native resolution (800x480), but it'll play higher resolutions without a problem, depending on the media player, the format and whether it's streaming or from storage.
That's from my experience. Hope that's on topic enough for ya.

So my first and second Nexus 9 had this issue.
It happens when playing music > 1h or streaming flash with Puffin.
I cant really describe it sounds so bad with lot of distortion but see for youself.
Am I the only one?

It might be the app, does it do this with other apps like pandora or play music?
It did with Puffin browser too (flash content) has I said, so it is not only app related.
Uau really impressed you guys don't have this issue. I like the 2 speakers and the sound so I use it a lot to listen to some music while I do other stuff.
Well I think it happens more then 1/2 hours, but even so totally unacceptable.
Both tablets are HT4AFJT made 15/10/2014.

Try something other than puffin. Seems related to that and not the device

um, ICS or earlier version of flash app, 5 OS versions later, and you expect it to work flawlessly? hmmm. I don't see a problem with the device in that use case. side loading flash Over two years of no support or upgrades. blame the devs that still code to flash well after the idea of abandoning it even by their creators.
