Poco F1 Screen Bleeding Issue - Xiaomi Poco F1 Questions & Answers

I am planning to sell off my Nokia 7 plus and get a Poco F1. However, I have read a lot of complaints regarding screen bleeding issue.
Since you guys are already using the device, I would request you to kindly let me know how many of you have got a Poco F1 with screen bleeding issue.
Thank you!!

Their is screen bleeding. But it's hardly noticable

I think the 7 plus is better than poco, except the processor. Yes the screen bleeding is real, but it's not that noticeable.

I also reqd somewhere that chinese smartphone companies use cheap motherboard in order to save money. And that's why most of their smartphones start having issues after a few days/months. I don't know if it's true. But my experience with Xiaomi was good till 10 months before I started having ghost screen issue on my Mi A1 and forced to sell it off. That's why I was asking.

I don't know about that, but my friend still use Mi 3 and 1st gen Mi Pad. He said that he never had any problem. The only issue I have about poco is when I got no signal coverage, after that I have to turn on and turn off airplane mode for the internet connection to work again. I heard that it's been an issue for xiaomi device for a long time. Oh, and the camera has no OIS, hoping that Poco F2 will have it.

Poco F1 Multitouch Problem Is Probably A Hardware Issue

I was checking out other phones that had this Multitouch issue, it includes Redmi Note 5, Redmi Note 5 Pro, Zenfone Max Pro M1, etc. Do you know what these all have in common? The IPS display, this is also cited by Beembom and since Xiaomi is not responding to any thread that's created for this issue, I suspect more and more than this is a hardware issue.
Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro still has this issue and it even is present on custom ROM's. The only phone that solved this problem was Max Pro M1, Xiaomi has not got the brains to solve it. MiA1 (my last device) that has a very inferior processor never had this issue, because it has a LTPS LCD.
Start reporting and ask about this before it's too late. Maybe they are waiting to make enough money before telling about this issue.
Since Xiaomi is not saying anything, I have already reached few reviewers and media companies to get Xiaomi's comment on this and have lodged several complaint against Flipkart and Xiaomi for this probable fraud because selling a device showing a point that the latest processor is being used and coupling it with a useless interfacing hardware is less or more a fraud.
I hope Flipkart/Xiaomi fix this issue (if it's a software issue) else refunds me my money.

Can confirm present on my redmi note 5 pro but haven't tried anything outside miui.
Is the display and touch response so bad that's to be real deal-breaker? Or is it common to all IPS display phones under 25k?
My POCO F1 order is in transit, and I was wondering whether I should cancel it before delivery. Please advise.

The only phone with IPS that had the issue fixed via OTA is Zenfone Pro M1.
Few Nokia 7 Plus has it too, but the company fixed those units via some repair.
Poco F1 seems to have this issue out of the box and is not even replying or making any statement regarding this, but it's their common attitude they even did this with mi4i, they launched Mi4i by saying it's a flagship, that time too I bought the phone in the first sale and the device had a major issue related to SD615 heating problem, in the next OTA they said that they have fixed the issue, you know what they did? they permanently disabled 2 cores and when users went mad over this, they reenabled the cores again and in the end the phone got so bad due to their bad optimization that I was getting 1 hour SOT after only 1 years of usage, it's the Mi4i thing all over again.

I understand it's a very lucrative deal, I have got the phone all packed up to return it or sell it. What I will recommend is, wait until they promise to fix it.

I used it for week coming from OnePlus 5t I felt screen was to lagging compared to 5t plus the UI has a lot of bug I know they will fix all bugs but if I were you I would pay the extra 200$ and get the OnePlus 6
For me, the intended usage was for 2 years with the phone. And if they have issues with touch and display (the most important and used tangible part of phone) it's not worth buying even if the deal is awesome. I currently use Lenovo P2, having an AMOLED screen, so not sure about IPS display and associated issues. Damn, I was really excited to get my hands on this POCO. Hope they will rectify it soon. But for now..... I have CANCELLED my ORDER.

Used rn5p for 6 months before selling off and buying this phone. Never had any kind of multitouch issue on rn5p, F1 however had the issue, got fixed after I turned off swipe to screenshot. As for lags, this phone HAS some weird problems like frame drops, but that's not related to multitouch issue.

The framedrop is actually the multitouch issue. When you try to aim while moving the screen seems to skip right? that's the multitouch issue and not framedrop. If you are having actual framedrops then that can be easily solved by an update while I am not sure about multitouch because I tried everywhere from Twitter to XDA, none of Xiaomi representative is replying about it.

According to the users on the RN5 subforum on XDA, the RN5 started having that problem after 9.5.6 or 9.5.14 update, they even migrated to Lineage but the issue still persisted.

And that means it's not a hardware issue. As for mine I jumped to miui 10 beta, and most probably didn't installed 9.5.6.

where to turn off swipe to screenshot ?
You claim the multi-touch is a hardware issue, and blame the IPS display for it?
You DO realize that the IPS display and touch digitizer are two physically different components, right?
This thread doesn't make sense, it's unscientific speculation.

Of course they should have replied. As far as logic goes, I THINK it's a software related bug, also could be a hardware thing, most probably it's not.
Again, I think F1 has very sensitive to touch response, typing on this phone isn't quite ideal, as it detects my finger even 2mm above screen. Overall it's smoother than my usual rate, not quite ideal for ME, need to make the sensitivity lower.

Torn between the RN5 Pro, and the Poco F1.

Hello all, I'm looking to purchase either of these phones, and was wondering which one to get. I understand the Poco F1 has better specs, but the main thing in which I'm interested in is, which one of them has an easier bootloader to unlock? And which one of them will have better ROM support? The RN5 Pro already has some good ROM'S available, is the same to be expected for the PocoF1? The RN5 unlocking process is long drawn, does the same hold true for Poco?
Thanks!
I am using poco F1. It can handle anything you throw at it so you won't be needing any kinda of improvement for now. Also for this specs there will be lot of Dev support. My suggestion is poco F1. Also btw 636 and 845 there is a lot of improvement in performance.

As both these phones are reported to have touch issues, go for Pocophone. It's better in every aspect. Bootloader unlock wait is 3 days.

Rmn5 pro is a bit older and also two completely different segments.
I had the rmn5 pro 6gb version and did the upgrade to f1.
I honestly prefer everything about the rmn 5 pro over the f1 but the thing is the f1 is a high end spec phone, latest SOC, has treble support so customs roms Will flow with options and also it will be one of the most sold 845 phones on the market so yeah custom roms will for sure be massive and last but not least, it's the later of the 2 phones.
Pocophone is a new segment by xiaomi and xiaomi has to put focus on the phone with upgrades and fixes and what not. If they mess this up the pocophone will be the first and last.
The approach by xiaomi is genius as a oneplus competitor but for the way cheaper price. The aim in the future will for sure turn out as the oneplus did.

even if poco was not in the scene, there was no reason to buy rn5 pro after 8months. you could go towards all the android one phones in the range, or asus zenfone max m1 pro.
however, if you can afford poco, don't even think twice. it is superior in everything from all of those devices.
I sold my RN5Pro and got Poco F1. Day and night difference in camera and performance. Why would you even compare 5 Pro with Poco? Go for Poco.

Galaxy S6 to Poco F1 upgrade, worth it ?

Hello Guys,
Do you think is it worth it to upgrade my Galaxy S6 to a Poco F1 ?
I bought my Galaxy S6 about 3 years ago and other than its battery life and some scratches on the screen and dodgy USB port, I have no other complaints.
Galaxy S6 was a $800 buy at the time and Poco is like $300 now. so I am trading a flagship for a mid-range device.
And actually GS6 still beats Poco in some categories like screen, camera and build quality.
So what do you think ? should I wait another year or two ? or buy Poco F1 ?
Personally, yes. But its your choice, for $350 you are getting a good deal.
Lol thats exactly what i did, i had a galaxy s6 and upgrade to a poco a week ago, and **** yes its worth it, its such an amazing upgrade i really reccomend you doing that, its worth every penny

definitely a downgrade ,especially the black renders ,coming from a s6 edge plus , but weighting the price factor , you cant really complain , also it lack some feature like nfc and wireless charge ,which i doesnt use at all.

i upgraded from s7, yes the screen is not so good compared to super amoled and the build quality considering it's a budget phone, the camera is not that bad and personally in my opinion that poco camera is better than s6 maybe because the soc, and at some point is better than my s7. Moreover if you use google camera, it's slightly better.
But.. if you want better screen, camera and build quality. You might want to add some extra bucks for Mi8. It's around $380-$400 here in my country.

I'd say go for the mi8. Lovely phone with look and feel much more consistent with the galaxy line. Love my F1 but if amoled is your thing, there's no denying that the F1 doesn't have it

older sammy is a good phone , yea the battery just dont cut it , most of the time i am charging the phone , up to date oem battery hard to find , not sure about xiaomi , do they sell replacement battery ?

Is it worth it?

Hi i just wanted to ask if its worth buying the pocophone f1?
I read some problems with the touch screen is that a thing? any other problems that i should becarefull?
Im Between mi8, f1, and honor 10 which one you think i should chhose?
The touch screen issue is fixed in the latest beta it should roll out in the next stable build ~ 1 month. I never had this issue, i have tried many beta and stable builds and no issue with touch. Other than that this phone is solid. I live in Europe, bought it local, don't regret the decision.
Thanks for the answer.
So I guess it's random if you get the touch screen issue or not.
The phone performance is outstanding. However my only issue is with the screen: is oversensitive and it has a notch (I don't like it). The notch can be hid using developer options, so that is solved for me xD.
But again, the phone performance is godlike.
If you can afford the xiaomi mi 8.. then go.for the mi8..

How hard is to unlock and flash LineageOS on Poco F1 ?

Hi,
I'm currently looking for a budget smartphone and it looks like Poco F1 fits my needs and bill. I'm after a smartphone which can be easily unlocked and fully working LineageOS flashed onto. I had OnePlus 3 before and the whole process was smooth as butter. It also looks like Poco F1 have a lot of custom roms which is nice.
How difficult is to unlock it and flash a custom rom onto ?
Also, are there any revisions of this smartphone which can't be unlocked ?
Thanks :good:
Its pretty easy in my experience.
Unlocking - Register for unlocking on Xiaomi website-> wait 7-15 days -> Download Xiaomi Unlock Tool and Unlock
Installing Lineage OS - Flash TWRP, Flash Disable Force Encryption and then Flash Lineage OS
After Unlocking the phone, the whole process of installing lineage OS should take around 0:30 - 1 hour.

Is the unlock free or do I need to pay for it ?
I just don't understand why we need to register online for the code, it looks like it is some kind of DRM.
Is there any simillar device that you could recommend ? I haven't bought it yet so I'm still taking everything for consideration. I was initially going for Moto G7 but from what I heard is that unlocking this smartphone can be a lot of pain.

all Xiomi devices UNLOCKING is FREE but yes takes some time / patience as they approve your account to have unlocking rights!
but with pocof1 even if you have granted unlocking access on your mi account, you will have to wais for 72 hours (some says 1 week) before you can actually unlock... but if you have any other device in future, you can simply unlock it using you same mi account!
now the budget part!
i think you should consider Realme 5 pro also!
its also easy to unlock and has lineageOS
https://forum.xda-developers.com/realme-5-pro/development/rom-lineageos-16-0-t3985571
PROS of realme 5pro on Pocof1
2gb more ram in high end variant 8gb/128gb internal
splash resistant / little bigger battery,
support fastcharging
better camera(s)
bigger screen
smaller notch
DEDICATED CARD SLOT
one year newer than pocof1
CONS of realme 5pro on poco
- its on SD710 with NO liquid cooling / poco is on sd845 with liquid cooling
- corning gorilla 3 ,,, where poco is on 5
- as of now, fewer support on xda for realme 5pro / poco f1 has alot of development done (but this can change over time)
- screen protector book cover may be hard to find for realme 5pro / Poco fits in many huwaie/honor covers since design is similar, i cut honor7x cover little bit for camera and its working ! also iphone X screen protector fit 99.8% accurate on pocof1

Regarding registration, its Xiaomi's policy and I don't think it has anything to do with DRM. Create registration using a throwaway email and delete the account once unlock is done.
Regarding your consideration of other phones, I will say that support and ease of modding a Poco is one of the best in its price range. If you want a phone with better modding experience than Poco, you will be paying a lot more.
