I've been using Miui for quite sometime on my poco f1 before switching to a custom rom recently. I really liked the full screen mode feature where pinching the edge of screen would perform the back action and long pinching will take you to the recent app.
I felt it much comfortable to use on these big screen phones.
Just wanted to know if there's a port already available or if not then request any developer to port it please.

I've been using the Fascinate and this is a problem I've had this whole time. I'm not sure if it's a hardware or a software defect.
The pixels at the edge of the screen don't seem to pick up touch input, something which I can see when I use painting apps. There is a space at the edge that doesn't get painted over. Also, when using the Lense lockscreen in CM7, it's extremely difficult to actually unlock the screen, because, since the edges don't respond, the lockscreen doesn't slide all the way down, and thus doesn't unlock.
The edges do pick up input for very brief moments sometimes, but only rarely. Do you guys know what the problem is?
It was mentioned when this device first came out. X starts to register at 8px and stop at 472px. And Y starts at 15px and stops at 785px. Not sure if that's by design, but hasn't hindered any app/ui interactions in tw for me. But I do remember this topic.
*Edit* Original Thread. Also confirmed epic does it too. Seems to be a galaxy "feature" on all models. But you're the first to notice it in 7 months and I would gather if cm7 ever went beta that an xml could be edited for the lock to reduce the gesture rate.
good day.
Hello everyone,
I'm the Editor-in-Chief of the XDA Portal. I received the Pixel 3 XL in Just Black for review from Google. I also have the Pixel Stand and Pixel USB-C Earbuds.
I posted part 1 of my review here: https://www.xda-developers.com/google-pixel-3-xl-camera-software-design-pixel-stand/
Have posted a ton of little tidbits of information here: https://www.xda-developers.com/google-pixel-3-google-pixel-3-xl-minor-features/
And my announcement article also has a ton of information: https://www.xda-developers.com/google-pixel-3-google-pixel-3-xl-specs-features-pricing-availability/
But if you have any other questions, I'm happy to answer them now that the review embargo has been lifted.

Sorry, I don't have the smaller Pixel 3 on hand, but the two devices are basically the same apart from the different screen sizes/notch.
Is the screen completely flat? For screen protectors. Can you also dock the phone horizontal and still use the features? I think it was careless of the designers, if you could not use the USB C headphones while it charges on the stand(vertical).

It's basically flat. It slightly curves at the edges, but nothing like the Samsung Galaxy series. You can dock the phone in the Pixel Stand horizontally, but the new UI only appears in portrait mode. I agree it's an oversight - all it takes to enable landscape mode in Always on Display is to change a single boolean value in the framework: https://android.googlesource.com/pl.../+/master/core/res/res/values/config.xml#1192
Is the stand worth it? How much time does it take to charge phone completely?

The Always on Display integration is really neat but I'm guessing someone will figure out how to trigger it for any Qi wireless charger soon, so I'm not sure if the Pixel Stand will be so unique in the future. It charges the device fully in about 2 hours and 40 minutes, but about 50% in 1 hour.
Is the video as washed out as it looks in the reviews I've see (supersaf and zone of tech)? Something perhaps to do with electronic image stabilization?
Just a few questions my friend.
How's the screen in bright sunlight? My P2XL needs help on that one.
How's the ringer/notification volume and vibration motor? I've missed several calls since I have to have the volume set to full and the vibration on my P2XL is kinda weak.
Do you have any "hollow sound" while tapping the screen like has been reported on the P2XL. I can vouch for this one on my P2XL.
Thank you for your willingness to share your findings
Does the Pixel 3 display has a pinkish tint?
Does the back scratch easily?
Does the stand have a nfc card that makes it so something else like trigger some software to make it act like a assistant mode?
I have a few questiona about its camera.
Does it have a full manual mode?
If it has, how many seconds of exposure does it have?
And, again, if it has a manual mode, can it save RAW photos?
How many camera modes does it have?
Does it have a light painting mode?
Does the Manual Camera app work with the wide aperture front camera?
If it does, can it save wide RAW photos?
What's the highest video resolution in Open Camera? (On my One M9 is 4096x2160.)
I hope you have time to answer all of this stuff.
Hello, I'm having Pixel 3 from USA and using it in India. Running latest stock OS. I'm not getting eSim option.
Please guide me for enabling the eSim option.
Just got my poco f1 today. Just feels awkward and not at all snappy.
When I try to scroll up/down using my thumb (one handed use) either near the left or right side of screen, the scroll isn't smooth at all.
Try doing this on a xda page in chrome or launcher app drawer.
Try a quick scroll using thumb. Page gets scrolled a little bit and then stops. Doesn't scrolls much.
Works well when you scroll near middle of the screen
Is this a common issue or only I am facing this
My poco scrolling senstivity is bad as well. Dont know if poco/xaomi can fix this with an update. Very anoying!

I was dead against buying Xiaomi cheap products. Bought Redmi 1s, returned. Bought Redmi note 4, returned.
Despite that seeing the VFM and reviews went for Poco this time and same disappointment. Poor and cheap quality hardware.
Don't know whether FK will replace or not. Technician visit scheduled. It is tough to explain and convince those technicians without any knowledge about these kind of issues

I got my phone in first flash sale on Flipkart, and lemme tell you, this scroll smoothness thing as improved a little after a couple of UI updates.
I don't know if it's really a hardware issue. But till now I've not seen a single user reporting this issue on a custom ROM. Not in my knowledge.
Though, you can make it work better for you by setting the value of Window animation, transition animation and Animator duration scale to Animation off. These options are available under drawing's sub-menu in developer options.

You can't convince technicians. I once tried and he just refused to accept it. He will come and just open the hardware touch test screen and will show you that everything is working. You can also test it by going in about phone in settings and tap several times on kernel version (something like 4.9.xxx) and a new screen will pop up, now go to tuch screen and test it.
One more thing is this can't be minimized by reducing animation scale and you are not the only one facing this issue.

May be this video could help you to convince the technician, though the chances are really less.
The video clearly shows that scrolling on right side of screen is slower and less smoother than the scrolling done from mid screen.
Just got the open beta 8.12.13 OTA, following are the observation :-
1) Keyboard lag is minimized.
2) Scrolling near edges is improved but still buggy near bezels.
3) YouTube picture-in-picture mode doesn't work in full screen gesture mode in poco launcher home screen.
4) Screen flickering in lock screen is gone but further need to be tested.
4) Icon refresh is still there when minimizing any app.
5) Back gesture now works properly when any app folder on home screen is open.
6) Tuch delay of back button of navigation Bar is gone.
7) Touch sensitive of screen is bit improved.
8) Something flower like icon is added in left bottom of lockscreen.
9) Notification icon is same it was in previous beta.
Replacement accepted. After receiving the new unit, again need to apply for return and refund. Not sure if they will accept next time.
Just don't want to keep this phone.
Will go for lower specs but better quality.
Still suffering with Lenovo Z2 Plus which also at its time launched with flagship specs at less price.
I do not have much free time like I used to have earlier to troubleshoot such issues and try different custom roms. Need a phone with stable stock rom and good build quality.
Xiaomi quality is cheap and will never improve
Update: Replaced and then again returned. Got refund. Relaxed now.
Will never buy Xiaomi phone again.
Will pay bit extra and go for Nokia 8.1 or OnePlus 6T. Will wait for next offer or price drop.
Quality over Quantity always.
Does anyone know a solution? I have the mi 9 se and in a lot of apps the top of the screen where the notch is turns black. There isn't this problem on the mi 9t because it doesn't have a notch, but is there a way to make it full screen all the time?
Yes, I think almost all devices with notch can have option to make full screen starting right below the notch. I recently purchased Samsung's latest model M30s and it possible to have a notch-free display.
Just move to your display setting and search for enable/disable notch. That's it.

I may not have expressed myself well. I want the notch to be there all the time, the problem is a lot of apps make the screen start below the notch.
Seems like an obvious idea that Samsung missed but I thought it would be cool if when using the camera with the main screen, the front screen could also be on showing the person you're taking a photo of a live preview.
If Samsung is lurking here maybe we could see it an update.
Anyone else think this is a good idea?
I had a similar idea when I used my phone for vlogging, if I could open the fold and still use the front screen for the framing of the shot, it could be great... but I doubt Samsung would do it...
its a small screen for anyone to see from a proper distance away, but yes it would be an added benefit regardless.
but i agree with the previous user. i doubt samsung would do it.
i think there is too much concentration on the S11 and Fold 2 at the moment, i don't think they will add very many "quality of life" updates to the fold.

I have switch to use front screen with latest update and Camera app ver
