Hello guys, bought for my wife v30 few days ago and got wierd problem. My wife love to listen our local radio using built in fm radio (no need to use data network). But she cant stream that music to jbl bt speaker, because then radio goes to off and show info cant switch on radio when bt headset is connected by bluetooth. Headset has to be connected to listen fm radio because its anthena. I already used ordinary headphones and same, also change in jbl settings to recive only audio. Try the same with soundbar and still nothing. All is working perfect when she use network online radio, but when she connect bt headset and try to connect with jbl to stream music suddenly radio switch off and show info. Any knows issue or how to fix it?I choose v30 because of built in radio and very good photos and now cant play radio. Thank You.

Try enabling the quad dac globally, connect a headset to the headphone jack
and THEN enabling bluetooth connection/streaming
theoretically it should work but hardware-wise and software-wise there could be limitations (not possible) or the software doesn't have that option.
Was there a phone before that worked the way you expected and described ?
i think i used wrong word when try to describe my problem using my poor english. i ment when i plugin headphones to enable radio, because headphones also doing as anthena, then when i try connect by bluetooth with JBL, radio switch off. Its like i cant connect by bluetooth, to stream music from radio, with any other devices like speaker or soundbar when i have pluged in headphones. Phone thinks that i have connected headphones set, but i have connected just headphones.
P.S. i just bought phone 4 day ago

two things:
the phone only might be able to output (sound) to one device at a time - so when plugged in the headphones it might be impossible to "mirror" this to bt headphones at the same time
the BT chipset might be limited to only use one function at a time - so that bluetooth and FM is mutually exclusive
several devices (or most ?) have a combined BT/ANT/FM chip - so it might not be possible to use all features all at once (could be a hardware limitation)
or that Android cannot do so (several output devices at once).
http://gopinaths.gitlab.io/post/android-audio-framework-architecture/
Since Android Pie there's the option to use several bluetooth audio devices at once - so there, in fact, could be those kind of limitations but applied to headphones and BT audio at the same time:
https://www.androidpolice.com/2018/...cted-simultaneously-via-new-developer-option/
This will probably require a workaround in the app itself. By default, Android picks which output device to use by some internal priority list, so bluetooth may have higher priority and switches from the headphone audio path.
Maybe the radio app relies on the current output device to determine if it can work, instead of actually checking that it has an FM signal.
It may have a receiver to "listen" for when the audio output path changes (Android would "broadcast" this change), which you could trick by telling the app that the headphones are the current output, but I don't know enough to write a script or app to do it, sorry.

I ran into this on a different phone awhile back. Not sure if it was my V20 or my Galaxy Note 4 but yeah the headphone jack takes priority over BT. There was an app that allowed you to force it but I don't remember what it was called. Think it was soundabout or something like that but this was quite awhile ago.
i will check tomarrow that apk soundabout and try some settings maybe it helps. Also if pie can use up to 5 devices then i hope v30 will get it some day, will try soundabout and give u a call

Hope it works. I honestly don't remember if it fixed my problem or not to be honest it was so long ago. I think if I remember right you need the paid version because they changed it. I guess just buy it and try it and if it doesn't work just do the refund
This isn't a matter of output device priority. Looks like FM radio is analog all the way. I don't think it runs through any ADC in any point in the audio path. So it can't work with Bluetooth. The Quad DAC also can't work with FM Radio.

This wasn't a question whether quad dac *can* run FM radio or not (of course it doesn't) but if the output could be routed through quad dac and the FM Radio stuff thread the aqstic onboard DAC and then to the bluetooth,
something like if the basic jack-like functionality existed on LG's Android implementation

FM can't be routed through any of the DACs. There's no trick you can do with any of LG's tools/apps/options that would achieve this.
Soundabout also crashes on the V30.

Try method 1 from here?
As far as the quad DAC is concerned: FM radio is a function of the SoC (why don't all SD-equipped phones have FM radio? Probably manufacturers not willing to pay QC for the privilege of enabling it), and FM bandwidth is low enough that the SoC's DAC can handle it no problem. I imagine they could rig something up to route the audio through the powered DAC for potentially more volume, but it's just not worth the trouble.

that app isn't available on Playstore (at least not for me) anymore - it's available from https://www.apkmonk.com/app/com.maxistar.monobluetoothfree/ the file seems to be virus-free according to the virus scan:
https://www.virustotal.com/de/file/...5812832b5f607dada7676826540f3471bc0/analysis/
and Spirit FM locked up the phone when trying
unfortunately it dosent work, i downloaded apk then pressed switch on so it says connected to device, before that i connected to jbl and when i pluged in earheadphones and opened radio it show me same problem. And thats true soundabour crash when tryied to open it.
This is unbelievable, and there is no solution for that.

I'll check later if nobody else does: does Android send out a "headset unplugged" broadcast when a bluetooth audio device is connected?
If not, that might mean the FM app is actually watching to see what the current audio path is, which could be kind of annoying to work around...
Someone needs to take a peek into the app and see what broadcast receivers it has.
Unfotunately im not as good as u are with that things, so i cant do anything else just asking for Your help. I cant take a peek into the app i dont know how. I can only do and try all advices from here and what ive read on network. Maybe the only way is wait for pie (if v30 get it) and then try change there how many devices can use bluetooth. Someone from here said that android 9 pie will have that choise.

Interesting and you are correct about number of Bluetooth devices...
https://www.theverge.com/2018/8/8/17659526/android-9-pie-best-small-useful-features
On Oreo, you are limited to two Bluetooth devices. Pie allows five.
But I'm not sure how more Bluetooth devices well help you stream the over-the-air FM radio to Bluetooth?
You will probably have to use online radio to get Bluetooth connection.

Yes, we are guaranteed Pie. Ever since last year we've said it won't come before 1st quarter of 2019, and most likely 2nd quarter. V40 and G7 and even V35 have priority over V30.
But we will get it.

Same problem here, I was on .67 when it first occurred, went back to 128, en now .111 but nothing really changes so i'm using an headset for now.
It is software related because on some firmware versions (.128 and .67 )do have a working microphone when you boot into safemode.
Tried to disable google now and/or tts but that does have any result. It does do something because in the test menu you get some muffling sound when you test the microphone with now enabled and completely silent with now disabled.
If you don't need gps you can try tonyshark's cm rom's (either 5.1 or 6.0) I'm waiting for either the cm rom to become into it's next stage so the gps works or for sony to come with their 6.0 update.
I have the same problem. Until some days ago the phone work well but trying to root and flashing recovery I've installed other firmwares different of the one it was on phone and now the mic don't work. I tried with some others versions of the firmware but with no results. Very annoying.
Hello,
I didn't find other references about this one.
I noticed a really poor and crappy performance when Bluetooth is connected to my audio car system.
I experience subsequent and short connection drops/re-connections, also during phone calls.
In addition:
- audio volume is very low, also when all pumped up.
- I don't get recent inbound and outbound calls and contacts lists sharing.
It's a pity. Other devices work flawlessly, even some old (non smartphone) GSM devices.
Is anyone experiencing something similar?
Thanks for any info.

That's strange, I have BT constantly on as I have the phone paired with a Sony Smartwatch 3, plus I exclusively use my Jabra BT headset during my long commute for music, videos and calls and never had a single problem with the volume level, connection and sound quality.
I had the same problems you have with a damn expensive HTC M9.....
Yeah, that's strange, I suspect the audio system it's just choosy... It's likely that the phone will work OK if I try some other BT device.
I'll do it when possible.
This was just to check if someone else had the same issue.
Thanks!
Yes, I did notice the relatively low volume when I connected the phone to my Vw stereo in my car.
1. Low volume for both music and voice calls compared to my previous phone (ip5c)
2. Also the phone has a problem with avrcp profile, so it cannot display the song name/metadata on the stereo screen !
Connects to car ok but doesnt load the contacts.
ive just discovered this problem also it connects to my sony car system fine but will not load the contacts unlike my sony z1 compact.

I have the same problems in my Skoda Octavia 2015 (no ID3 tags, not possible to change track by the steering wheel buttons, sometimes stuttering, quite poor audio quality when calling). The Honor 7 works perfect with the Skoda, the iPhone from my girlfriend as well.
But I connected the OPX to a Renault and there it worked faultless.
So I don't know where's the problem... maybe the OPX doesn't support all AVRCP versions?
In my Kia AVRCP works with PowerAmp and Deezer. But I still have the same problem with contacts and calls list.

Hi to all!
I've noticed very poor audio quality while streaming music over bluetooth on my Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro(on MIUI7 and MIUI8 too). No matter is bluetooth connected to car or BT earphones. Volume level adjustment or EQ adjustment doesn't help. It looks like low bitrate of sound - a lot of distortion of high frequencies. If I connect wired earphones - music quality is very good.
Could someone help me to fix it? Thanks.

I'm not sure that it's problem of audio driver, because as I wrote in wired earphones(or wired to car) quality of sound is very good.
Looks like problem of BT stack. I found one solution to increase sound bitrate for A2DP by editing audio_policy.conf, but unfortunately it didn't work for me.
My bt headphones work fine, (awei, bluedio), and recivers (linkz, ibt, ihome), I am on MM miui 6.8.15, try turning off any 2ghz radios (like wifi routers or switch the router to use to 5ghz only) maybe it's interference.
I'm having the same issue, using bluedio t2s, sounds like the phone loses connection for a millisecond, even though I have it in my pocket or in my hand. I've tried different Roms and kernels, but the issue persists.

As I understand, you use China Developer ROM, aren't you? Could you send me(or attach here) some files from your ROM? I'm interested in:
/system/etc/audio_policy.conf
/system/lib/hw/audio.a2dp.default.so
/system/lib/hw/bluetooth.default.so
Thank you!
Problem has been resolved.
I improved audio quality over BT only when I switched to Global Developer firmware & updated my phone to android 6.0.1.
Then I used patched libraries from this thread of MIUI forum .
This libs really works great on it.
Not sure if I'm the only one having this issue or not, but I have the T-mobile LG V30 and I'm not able to play sound to two Bluetooth devices at one. I was able to do this very easy on my S8, but on the V30 seems to only allow one device at a time, unless I'm missing something.
If in fact this works for anyone else can you please tell me how you got it to work? So far I only been able to switch to one of the two devices not play at the same time.
I had the same issue. S8 plus I had prior connected easily. I do remember reading about another phone, maybe the HTC U11 having Bluetooth 5.0, but it needed am update to work. Maybe the case with the v30 as well

Yep that exactly what I get, sounds like it will just need to be a software update to fix unless we are missing something which sucks!
They might have decided the quality wasn't what was hoped for. From every review I've seen of BT5 streaming audio to two devices, one is always a hair off from the other. That would be annoying to me.
This requires Android 8, which the V30 does not yet have.

Right, I read up on it and found this video. Oreo has dual BT but needs hardware to support.
I should probrably clarify just a little about the dual-audio for bluetooth. So with Bluetooth 5.0 by default you can connect to multiple devices, but you can only stream audio to one device at a time. The limitation is at the Bluetooth chip (transmitter) level. So if you're looking for "dual-streaming"...the hardware on the V30 won't be able to support.
The S8 has dual because Samsung made it work, not nougat android.

Connection is very poor, and music all the time interrupts/brakes, it is annoying.
Even I started running with watch on right hand, but it work ok when watch is about 10 cm from BT receiver...
I thought first that it is connected to some bug ROM, but nah -> situation is the same.

Some other things I can try ? Maybe some special BT settings in kernel ?
I think quality of this speaker is low

If you are not using TWS earbuds, then try to use the watch on the other arm (or change the headphones side, the one with the antenna should be at the same side as the watch). If it doesn't work then your have a watch with bad antennae, hardware issue, no way to fix it by software.
