I used an Omnia, and Paul over at Modaco has created a program that will switch your SIP based on your phones orientation. Ex, I use T9 Phone Pad in portrait, and when I switch to landscape it automatically pulls up the full keyboard. However, he only has the ability to select the stock samsung keyboards. He posted the source (although it's the version that didn't include switching to landcape) here: http://www.modaco.com/content/i9x0-...asip-omnia-default-sip-changer-new-version-2/
I did search and couldn't find anything that would already allow me to do this, but perhaps I missed it. If an app already exists, can someone point me in the right direction? If not, these seems like something useful if someone could develop this. I like to use Touchpal in portrait, but in landscape on my small screen the keys are just too small, where I like to use a different keyboard. Instead of having to switch to this keyboard every time I switch to landscape, I thought an app that did this would be handy. Thanks.
I'm running an ICS leaked build on my SGS2 - LP6. I've had two screen freezes (nova) so am going back to touchwiz for a while.
Of course by default touchwiz doesn't sort the apps drawer in grid view. By deleting data it's pseudo sorted. For now. So pre-installed apps are first in order, then user installed, in order
Has anyone co-erced AppZorter to work? Or know how to manipulate touchwiz through APIs or database updates to switch things into order?
I've emailed the AppZorter developer but I'm sure it's too early.
It's the one feature of touchwiz that IMO is a serious omission - otherwise I like it.
in TW4.5 you have alphabetical order of icons but i am not sure that it will work on ICS ROM............on GB it is fantastic.......
appz sorter light works but you have to reboot.. it doesnt restart touchwiz.. or if you have home switcher and temporarily switch to a different shell and run it and then switch back it is done immediately.

No just force stop the tw launcher after sort.
$1 gets you a reply
I am on the latest ICS leak and I can't get AppZorter to install, for the obvious reason that it's for older versions. There has to be some other way instead of slowly tapping, dragging and dropping
Hello,
first of brilliant work.
There are only one thing missing from the basic desktop (in this case laptop) functionality, which stop me from using this on a daily basis.
The problem is that the windows don't have any scrollbars. It very challenging to browse websites (i have to long press and drag my finger on the minute trackpad).
I am sure many users will view this as a powerful alternative of a laptop os, such as i do.
Hope you can implement these features in a near future.
Keep it up.
Regards
Any advance made in this?
Ive bought a bew computer becaus emy previous wasnt compatible now im loving it i definitely miss the scrol. Mine is touch screen but i can just image your pain..

it is very difficult to get anything done with a trackpad without scrollbars, just take a look at all the fus when google devs removed the scrollbars from chrome... they had to revert it back due to public demanding them.
But even with a mouse the scrollbars are usefull because you can easily go to a specific place on a web page (just an example)
For track pads use two fingers and slide your fingers up or down.
Does anyone know how to enable scroll bars or scrubber bars in Remix OS? I have seen this option in UI Launchers e.g.: CM Launcher with some of its installable themes. However, Remix OS does not allow you to install your own UI Launcher. Furthermore, does the default ui launcher of Remix OS allow you to install themes because then one could create one's own installable theme with scroll bars and scrubber bars.
This key feature is still not implemented in remix beta
Do developers read this fórum?

I've been successful with installing Nova Launcher. Perhaps same method would work for other launchers?

NOVA Launcher Working (method may work for other launchers)
So i guess scrollbars is just to dificult to develop.
No scroll bars is a makes it unusable for me.

Yes.... completly.
To bad other people don't see this. I guess it is because they use a mouse/touch instead of trackpad.
Hello everyone,
after having upgraded my Note10+ to Android 10 under OneUI 2.0, with its new gestures implementation, a remark came to me.
Have you installed on your smartphone the DROPBOX app? If yes, open it, enter into a subfolder and then go back to the previous main folder using the in-built back gesture (which works simply by swiping right from any point of the screen).
Have you noticed? How smooth the gesture itself and the transition (and simple I would say) are?
Then, I looked back at the new back gesture implementation coming with Android 10, and I ended up thinking that back-gesture on the Dropbox app is way smoother, nicer, and easier to get and to reach (which is a key point from a perspective of an OS which maximises the User Experience).
Hence my question is, would be a nice move from Google to implement a gesture like the one in the Dropbox app in the next version of Android, namely Android R (maybe)?
Thanks to all
Michele
Just being curious ... will there be any ROMs for the Zenfone 9?
Lot's of small things really bother me and I would love to fix em by using a custom ROM. But I am not sure if I should keep the phone since my last one also had no chance of ROMs wich bothers me still.
The Zenfone 8 is supported by LineageOS, maybe the 9 will be too.
I sure hope so :/ I had zf8, now owned by my wife, and I hoped this would get similar support.
Chill out a little, its only been what? 2 months since the release. Porting a device takes time and effort and is done by volunteers. I expect there are going to be ROMs for this device, I think it is just a matter of time as IIRC Asus sends out devices to ROM maintainers for them to play around with and port out.
Chances are good as Asus shares Kernel sources and has a quite open policy. Also, software support by Asus is limited so chances are good someone jumpes in.
I agree, it takes some time before custom ROMs will come out. However I personally don't feel any special need for a custom ROM yet, the ASUS ROM is clean, fast, smooth, a bit customizable and with a good battery life
Which is true, but specially support of third party launchers is horrible on gesture navigation. When you go to your home screen, most of the time, the device thinks it needs to "stop" or "show" the launcher as an open app, which really bothers me. Never had this on any custom ROM so far.
Also, I would love to get more customizations. What we have is great and all, I really love the effort they put into it. But in some parts, I would love to see some custom juice here.
But that's just me being an UX designer, doing his thing
Well, with A13 not anymore. There is no more home gesture bug, it works smoothly on 3rd party launchers. I'm using Niagara and the experience is great finally!
Not sure what you mean on custom ROMs, as the bug was a A11 and A12 issue, not custom or OEM ROM issue. I had multiple ROMs on my previous OnePlus 7T Pro and the home gesture was the same on all ROMs on 3rd party launchers. It was due to how Android worked with the recent apps menu as it wasn't separate from the launcher, but was using the OEM launchers' recent apps, so if you had a 3rd party launcher, the original one was still running in the background, providing the recent apps menu. That is why the but was there. So no custom ROM could have fixed that.

This is awesome! My only main gripe with Zenfone 9 is that I can't make icons on home screen and app drawer bigger. Tried using Nova or Lawnchair but they were buggy. Now I can't wait for A13 beta to hit my device.

the interest of a custom ROM on a device like the zenfone 9 is obvious, it allows to increase the duration of the software support which Asus ends after only 2 years.

It requires some folks to volunteer to develop the custom ROMs, such as Lineage. It is unofficial if the person's efforts don't meet the long term requirements for Lineage and those who maintain the original.
I'm in the process of learning how to make an AOSP ROM myself, so if I succeed you'll see a thread from me about it!

How is the beta for you? Do you have any screenshots or links with the changes that have been made? Thanks.

Beta doesn't really feel like a beta, no major bugs discovered yet, nicely suitable as a daily driver. Here is the official changelog:
Please back up your data before upgrading to Android 13. If you want to downgrade your device’s software version to Android 12 by official software package, it will erase all data from your device’s internal storage
Upgraded system to Android 13
Revamped Mobile Manager, Contacts, Phone, Emergency Dialer, File Manager, Calculator, Clock, Gallery, Weather, Sound recorder, Settings, Data Transfer, Local backup, and so on
Adjusted Quick Settings panel, notification tray, and volume panel to Android 13 design
Added the notification permission feature. You can adjust the permission of each apps in the Apps & notifications Settings
System clipboard added "Auto delete" and editor features
Added the QR code scanner option for the lock screen shortcut feature, and the Control from locked device feature in the Security & lock screen setting
According to Digital Wellbeing setting, system color scheme can be set to automatically switched by the bedtime option
Adjusted the Vibration & haptic strength setting, Display and font size setting, and the width/length of navigation white bar when choosing gesture navigation
Changed to the Blocked numbers setting in Phone to stock behavior. You will not receive calls or texts from blocked numbers
Removed the Call duration setting
Added the Themed icons option in the Wallpaper & style setting. Support more color combinations
Added link quick share feature in ASUS Launcher
Some 3rd party apps are not compatible with Android 13 yet
Seems omnirom will be out for Zenfone 9, at least lots of activity at their git
