Which Oreo ROMs for vince are still maintained? - Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 / 5 Plus Questions & Answers

It seems that all devs are developing Pie ROMs now. But these still have problems (e.g. issues with Fingerprint, Alarmclock).
Is there a AOSP or LineageOS Oreo based ROM which is still maintained - meaning especially merging security fixes? I have a hard time finding a Oreo ROM with November 2018 security patch

What is wrong with android oreo?

Android oreo has been released a few months ago but custom roms have just begun to appear and most of them are far from stable.
Also open gapps are still beta on oreo.
Why is that? Is there something new about oreo that needs special "treatment"?

[Q] ETA for Android 9 Pie based LOS and other custom ROMs

Firstly i do not ask for ETA nor forcing anyone to do it so. Asking how much time it would take (estimately) to get some LOS 16, RR 7.x.x etc. on our R5+. I'm certainly not in a rush to get it just wondering.
Also whats your opinion about Android Pie? Is it really worth upgrade from Oreo? Or it's just Oreo with some more UI/system fixes?
Source code isn't been released yet, wait and watch or maybe use GSI for Android Pie, i am using it and its awesome but its all about taste.

[QUESTION] Why is there a lack of custom stable roms?

I am in no way a expert but for what I have seen (especially) on Lineage OS roms all the builds are nightly and they come out every three or four days. Why is that there is no stable versions for people that don't want to update that often (since the update process can sometimes be a bit tricky). Another related question: does updating to a newer version (but same rom) implies the loss of user data?
Have you ever tried LineageOS 15.1 extended edition?
I've been using it since September 2018, it's stable and customizable unlike LOS 15.1

No, I haven't tried that rom. I honestly don't care much about customization. I have just got tired of MIUI and wanted a change maybe to a clean Android experience. What do you think about the resurrection remix rom?

OP was correct in his request, because:
1. LineageOS' last build for Manta was July 2017, and the kernel was last patched and updated in 2018. That's very old for security patches.
2. And yes, it's fairly difficult to build for older versions with those older blobs that are no longer available for download.
CM13 was the last version released for Manta (Nexus 10).
If you care to read carefully, the build process does not bring in newer security patches into either build - it only pulls these last-known builds and builds them.

Is there any ROM based on A10 with latest security patches?

We all have observed that most of the A11 roms have at least few bugs and few ROMs are yet to implement important features. For example PE+ has heating/drain issue resulting in an update getting released within 24 hours of the previous build (good response time though).
In this scenario, I would your help in knowing if there is any ROM which is based on A10 (solid stability, battery life) with latest security patches, with at least fair amount of features like corvus or Evo x (but these dont hv latest patches).
Thank you.
There is Nusantara LTS (long term support) in the ROM section. I'm using march version but April is already there and may could come soon. It has many features like Havoc or crDroid. I'm not a heavy user but for me it works fine.
I switched last month from crDroid 6.13 to crDroid 7.5 and it's been pretty solid with most Q customizations included.
