Hello, I experience distorted sound when using earpiece for calls. It starts from 70-100% volume. At medium or low volume it isn't distorted.
Also, when using speakers for media, theres dust coming out of the earpiece from stereo effect when playing media near max volume.
Does anyone have this?

I am facing the same issue. There is a cracking sound coming whenever I connect an earphone. I have tried multiple earphones but the same thing happens every time.

What do yo mean? :O
Do you hear buzzing when you turn the volume up?
What's the sound quality like with the volume up?
Where is your phone sitting when you are playing music?
Does it sound the same through headphones?

No..it works fine when I turn the volume up...Sound quality is crystal clear when the volume is high...Didn't try with the headphones yet! The buzz sound is so low..I can only hear when I place the speaker just beside my ears.

Probably normal interference sound you are hearing. If you only hear it on low with the phone right at your ear, that seems most likely.
Or..........metal plate in head?
Perhaps at higher volumes the buzzing sound is cancelled out by the music? Get a can of compressed air and give it a blast, there may be a small piece of something rattling around in there (very small).
When you listen at night, is your phone plugged into the charger? If so, you may be hearing switcher noise from the battery charger. Try a different one. Just guessing.
i ve noticed today that on maximum volume the speaker on the phone is kind of distorted. not on all sound, some sound good, some sound distorted. it happens in everything but u can hear it well in music player.
dont get me wrong, its not that bad but u can hear some sound distortions like buzzing and wheezing on some tones i also have an s2 and that is fine.
had any of u noticed this?
anyone?
Yea I get it but i don't really notice it that much
I have the same problem.
On maximum vlume settings I hear sound distortion.
Is it hardware or software problem?
I have the same problem.
I tried different ROM AOSP, AOKP, Samsung based rom, I tires different Kernel.
I also order a new speaker from ebay.
Problem won't disappear.
I think the internal speaker amplifier is defective.
Headphone sound is clear.
Phone speaker OK.
Ringer speaker distortion even at very very low volume. It's even more noticeable a low volume.
Anyone's incoming call or any notification sound are still coming out from the speakers and not the earphones with the earphones plugged in? I'm with the noise cancelling earphones if that's how it's supposed to be?
All my previous phones mutes the speaker and you hear the ringtones/notifications through the earphones when plugged in

Are you sure you plugged jack properly?
Press it till the end and it'll work.
And no, it's not normal to have sound on speakers and earphones in the same time.

yes i'm pretty sure it's plugged in correctly as i'm listening to music on it. but incoming call's ringtone plays on the speakers instead and not on the earphones (music just gets muted but no ringtone sound)
i have this same problem to,.... I'm using Handcent as my defualt SMS/MMS app,... at first i thought it was an app setting thing but messing around with it,.... i still can't find anything to get around it,.....
I'm using a Sony Smart Headset by the way,...

As I understand it, this is a "feature" of Kitkat (If not Jellybean because it did this to me on my GS3). On my GS3 I rooted it and got around the problem but I can't find a way around it on the Z2. There is an app that forces ringtones to headphones but it does not seem to work on the Z2, at least without root. I don't understand why anyone would want this feature. If I am in the library and listening to headphones I don't need my ringtone blasting away. And it is impossible to hear on a crowded bus.

but that's weird when I had my Z1 running on kitkat it doesn't have this problem... isn't it a hardware issue? so this is happening on all Z2? surprised there was no much complaint about this to Sony...
Hi, guys i noticed a clicking popping noise in my left headphone only during music playback and in the middle volume level if it's low i can't hear it would you say it's hardware or software related? Seems like if there is more base in the music i don't hear it as much.

Sounds like a blown speaker in the headphones. Do you have a pair of ear buds you can swop out ? If you don't here it with the ear buds it's hardware.
Onyx's speaker is way too silent even at max volume. At times I'd have it in my pocket while taking to someone and wouldn't notice a call.
I tried all the sound mods available but none amplified the speaker. What should I do?
You means ringtones, not speaker itself?
speaker problem
